Walkable distance from Kyoto station. The reception is a minute walk from the room but with clear guidance. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is nice and clean but the stair up to the room is quite steep and narrow. Not convenient with big luggage, infants or elders. WiFi in the room is so weak. Breakfast is not able to be reserved on-site.

We choose to took a traditional room with tatamis and futon, and we weren’t disappointed ! The room was spacious, the futon really confortable. The communal spaces were clean and spacious too The only ”bad point” is the stairs, if you have a big luggage they can be really tricky.

Very quiet, quite retro, and hygienic. The only thing is that the faucet in the bathroom can be designed to be higher. I don't want to sit down to take a shower. Then put two hooks in the bathroom to put down clothes. Because it is a public bathroom, you can't put clothes on it. You can only tuck them in the door handle, which is not hygienic and inconvenient.

The space is enough for personal rest. There is a small TV, air conditioning and bathtub. The surrounding environment is quiet. The wooden structure is generally soundproof.

The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the traditional tea ceremony. Conducted in the tranquil setting of anther ryokan nearby, it was an immersive experience that allowed me to delve deeper into the rich cultural heritage of Japan. The meticulous preparation and presentation of the tea were not only educational but also deeply relaxing, providing a perfect counterbalance to the day's adventures. The staff at Nagomi Ryokan were incredibly attentive and friendly, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was comfortable and memorable. Their helpfulness and warm hospitality made it easy to feel at home, enhancing my overall experience in Kyoto. The ryokan’s location was ideal, offering easy access to both popular and lesser-known sites, making it a perfect base for exploring the city's vibrant culture.
