Sofitel Kunming Hotel Reviews

Thank you hotel for the room and birthday arrangements! Hotel is within good distance to Kunming railway, Nanping and Old Street - can easily take ride-hailing from hotel to these locations. Room is comfortable, good city view, overall thumbs up.

We had a very good stay. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. And the room is clean and comfortable. 👍🏻

I came here for the Kunming marathon, this is one of the best hotel in town, but the malls and metro are kinda far,

Hotel was excellent. Location was great and the service personnel was top notch. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous, and variety was great too. Well worth its 5 star rating. Staff at the reception and helpdesk were very helpful, especially Stitch. Will stay in this hotel again when I next visit Kunming.

Service was impeccable and the room was very spacious and cosy. We were also given a room on a very high floor with an excellent view of the city. Breakfast buffet was also delicious with a huge variety of food!

The room is clean and spacious. Service was good. Every staff looks cheerful and they are helpful. The swimming pool was also good and the gym is well equipped. Breakfast is busy during CNY but they have more than enough food to feed everyone. There is a huge variety of food in breakfast. However, personally I am not very into a lot of them. I would rather prefer a smaller variety but more specialized dishes such as English Breakfast , Shanghainese and Cantonese etc. All in all, we enjoyed our stay in Kunming, it is a beautiful city.

Size of the room and bathroom are good and clean, but lightings are insufficient. Staff at reception and restaurants are good and friendly. The Thai restaurant is to avoid…both food and atmosphere were not good.

This is the best hotel we have stayed at. We love the the suit which was fantastic with outstanding views. We only stayed two nights we wish we could stay longer(highly recommend this hotel). Also we write this review mainly to thank the friendly and welcoming staff, in particular Jessica and Caroline. They both went their extra mile helping us with daily planning and bookings of further travels including train tickets etc. One more thing, staff had contacted us for items that we left behind(most hotels would not do this). HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel for anyone who is thinking of travelling to Kunming.

Our room at level 33 near facility room was soooooo noisy. I can hear every night the aircon got sound. Nearby nothing to shop and have to take Didi to all location. Reputable hotel but local is okay only and room is not peaceful enough for rest Breakfast variety is good but not all good is nice.

Excellent service from a top class hotel. Most notable were service staff Suri and Jason when we arrived early in the morning, tired from a long flight. They were flexible in terms of early check-in availability and helping us settled in quickly. Also special mention to Luffy and his colleagues who sorted out our WiFi connectivity issues even after his working hours. Facilities like the gym, indoor swimming pool were great, as you would expect from a Sofitel. All in our family enjoyed our stay very much.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Sofitel, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff made us feel incredibly welcome, ensuring that we were well taken care of, especially our little girl. They went above and beyond in making us feel comfortable, and their attention to detail was remarkable. The professionalism of the staff was evident throughout our stay. Not only did they provide excellent recommendations for things to do and places to eat, but they also made sure we had everything we needed, always with a warm smile. A special shout-out to Edson and Jessica for their exceptional service and hospitality – they truly made our experience unforgettable. Having stayed at many luxury hotels, including some of the most expensive in China, I can confidently say that this Sofitel stands out. The service, the atmosphere, and the overall experience went beyond anything I could have imagined. Highly recommend!

Rooms were a little warm in winter. We could not change to cooling mode. Pillows were too soft.

We had a wonderful buffet dinner at Kwee Zeen, food was really good with lots of varieties. A staff , Caleb Zhang was extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you.

Fantastic hotel - clean, convenient, and very spacious. Facilities were excellent as well and very comprehensive. Great service and very friendly staff which made the stay a lot more pleasant. Would come back again for future stays
