I visited on a weekday afternoon for a day trip to the onsen (hot spring). It costs 400 yen per adult. It's near the national treasure Kirishima Shrine, so it might be a good idea to purify yourself here before visiting. Park your car in the parking lot in front of the inn and enter through the souvenir shop entrance. A hostess? will be there and after you give her some money, she will guide you to the bath on the second floor. There is shampoo, body soap, and soap in the bath, but you can borrow towels (for a fee) or bring your own. There was a bath at the back of the second floor. It's an inn's bath, so it's not big, but you can take your time and relax in it. It's an old inn, so the changing room and bath feel dated. The pH is about 6, and the water temperature is just right. There is no sauna or cold bath, just one bath. Since it was all to ourselves, we were able to relax.
