Club Wyndham Ka Eo Kai

This place seems nice from afar but once we got here the problems started. There are multiple rooms here on this one property which had a single ice machine for all, which would be fine if it worked. Wife tried to use it and after getting attitude about having to use her room key for it to work. It had an out of order sign placed on it and was there the whole trip. Wouldn’t have been a huge deal, cuz we had a kitchen. But second problem our fridge also wasn’t working. The temp in the freezer was about the temp the fridge should be, but sadly we didn’t realize it til the next morning, so all the food we had bought and placed in the went bad. 50$ foodland trip wasted including the milk we got for our son to have his cereal in the am. We ended up getting ice to put the new milk in, in the freezer. There was also WiFi issues and when the front desk sent someone to our room, they told us they didn’t have Wi-Fi. ***. Seriously, ok so how does Netflix and Disney+ work without Wi-Fi, staff was clueless. We also had to have someone fix the pull out bed that refused to come out. I’m no rocket scientist but I can work a basic pull out bed. Website said these were remodeled in 2015 but I got serious 90’s vibes inside. Luckily we only stayed two nights but if you are considering this place, keep looking. It’s worth the extra bucks to stay someplace else where the staff is helpful and the appliance actually work. Trust the yelp reviews. The rooms are filthy. Mold, musty smells emit from the 1980s dirty carpet, flies cover your body at night while you sweat without AC. Dirt and grime covers the floors, walls and all surfaces. Visible dirt on all surfaces. Curtains have dead bugs smushed into them, ‘white’ shower curtains are now brown from years of dirt. Your feet stick to the tile that likely has the remnants of the food and debris from the poor souls before you, and will be stained black. The rooster sounds at 6am will be a nice reminder that you somehow lived through another night. We could have dealt with the intolerable heat and constant noise at all hours if the room was clean. It’s wild to me that this ‘resort’ has consistent reviews about the filth, and management has done nothing to improve this. Understandably, installing AC and renovating the decades old dingy furniture, repainting the visibly stained walls would be expensive. But a good deep clean once in a blue moon would go a long way. The filth is truly a health hazard at this point.

Cons: When we arrived, the room was closed up and HOT!!!! We went to Target and bought fans to make it bearable. Once the sun went down, we slept fine and we were comfortable with all the windows/sliding doors open. During the day, the heat was so bad, there’s no way we could have stayed in and relaxed! It’s unbelievable to me that they don’t have A/C!!!! We paid a lot of money for this hotel and didn’t figure out there was no A/C until months later when it was too late to make changes. The hotel was almost an hour from the airport and Poipu Beach. Pros: The rooms are very spacious and clean. The balcony is huge. The kitchen is a great size and has everything you need to cook and a dishwasher for cleanup. There’s a washer and a dryer. The pool and hot tub were nice and clean. The location is very close to Hanalei Bay.

This was our first visit to Princeville, and our first stay at a Wyndham timeshare. This is an older complex and dated. The buildings are quite close together, and there is no view of the water except for a couple of buildings near the golf course. Not close to beach. We had a lower unit (8A) which was in the worst location. Right on the main road & cross street. Noisy with cars all day long. No way we could enjoy sitting on our porch, or even opening the windows. The unit itself was quite large and clean, although dated. No real issues with the unit. After a year of waiting for this trip, I will say I was very disappointed with our location. I would not stay here again, when there are many other options with a better location and newer facilities.

Very nice resort in Princeville with HUGE accommodations ( 2 bdrm 2 bath) we were lucky to get above ground floor where we had a 1200 sqft unit fully equipped including full kitchen with a large wrap around lanai . Complex was quiet except for the island roosters. The staff were friendly and property was immaculate and tropical. If I was to complain about anything it would be the small jacuzzi spa, but that’s the fault of the design architect. This was our second stay here, first as honeymooners and now as a family!

Many local eateries. Mostly food trucks, but all are very good. Beaches are a trek, but the north beaches are much more calm than south.

The resort was very nice and so was the staff. While on the island visit Happy Talk Lounge early in your visit. We went the last day and wished we had located it sooner. Close to the resort and out of the main flow of traffic. Also a doors off helicopter ride is a must.

When you read reviews about bugs in the unit believe them! This is our third trip to Hawaii but our first stay at Ka Eo Kai. We rejected our first unit because it was gross, with black fuzzy stuff growing on the curtains and lamp shades. It feels like the window tracks have never been vacuumed. There were cob webs and bugs in the entry above the door and inside the unit. Our second room still had dirty window sills, and curtains but they weren’t growing black gunk. Both units have bugs! Small spiders and spider webs were in the corners of the walls and ceilings! We used the vacuum to clean them up. Both units have dated living room furniture and I absolutely do not want to sit our lounge on. Both units need a deep clean. The other resorts we have stayed in have not had insect issues, or cleanliness issues. Stay elsewhere.
