Stay was good and the hotel included meals which were nice. Though the room would be better if it was renovated

Very good, the room is clean and hygienic, there are no mosquitoes or poisonous insects. The restaurant is unexpectedly good, I am very satisfied with the breakfast and dinner. There are many animals on the grass by the lake, which is very interesting.

The hotel facilities are quite ordinary, the service is quite good, and the hippopotamus is a major feature

The location is excellent, the rooms are spacious and bright, and the facilities are complete. The service team is warm and friendly, and the food is delicious and diverse, making people linger. Whether it is a leisure vacation or an adventure trip, this is a perfect choice for staying, highly recommended!

All the staff were friendly and helpful. To be highlighted are the reception and restaurant. The outdoor area, including the animals that appeared regularly, was very interesting and had something of a safari and holiday feel about it. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, need to be renovated and modernized. But nothing was missing here either. The food selection was sufficient, but could be a little more extensive (fruit, cheese), especially at breakfast.

The booked room type does not match the photos! It is said that double beds can be randomly arranged in the reservation, but none of the 4 rooms have double beds, and all of them are double beds.

We stayed for 3 nights from 25th Dec to 28th Dec and paid double the regular room rate for 3 nights cz it was during Christmas, only to be allotted a room we did not book which had a horrible smelly bathroom that we had to request for a room freshener, the basin was chipped, the shower was rusted and not working properly, dirty bathtub you can't use. It seems like the bathrooms were 30 years old. We payed a $100 extra for premium room but did not get a premium room for 25th night but only after half the guests checkout on 26th, was our room changed. The premium rooms are newer and slightly bigger for which we paid extra. However, the quality of rooms and the wood used is pretty bad. The door has a gap on the top (room 1442), and lizards kept creeping inside the room. even the bathroom ceiling wasn't properly done and one could see lizards and insects creeping in. Such mediocre quality of rooms and bathrooms, wonder how guests have rated anything more than 3/5 to this property Muthu Lake Naivasha when it doesn't deserve more than 2 points. The 2 points I have allotted, 1 for the lake-views & hippos/zebras grazing while you're having meals or walking around in the night and 1 for the buffet which was good even for a vegetarian like me. plenty of options and tasty. It also needs to buck up on their room service too where towels were missing all days after the room was cleaned, Shower gel was missing. and they would take an hour or repeated reminders for providing basics. NO WAY you can call this property more than a 3* according to international standards. We specially went for Christmas and paid double but were quite disappointed with the room allotment and service. particularly of the front desk staff!

The environment is the most friendly, with a very natural feel. The staff here are very very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are so clean and safety is something they take so seriously. It’s also so quiet, if you really need a quiet place. I had the most amazing time.

Excellent place to be without entering national park fees. Super staff, dedicated and helpful. Well maintained swimming pool surrounded by zebras, girafes waterbucks and hippos at night while by hundred of birds during the day. Recommended

The food was continuously great at every meal and the staff is friendly and helpful. And during the day you can walk amongst the wild animals on the lake facing lawn and at night you get to see the hippos grazing on the same lawn. All in all an amazing and relaxing experience.

The staff is so friendly and helpful. I really loved the tea/coffee time and that the whole country club is a safari. It is something very special to be this close to the animals and to be able to experience a true Kenyan experience. Everything is clean and everyone is so respectful.

Every person working at this establishment is so kind, friendly, and helpful. I loved the afternoon tea and chat with the servers. The grounds are peaceful and relaxing, rooms comfortable, and the food was filling and warm. It was an absolutely pleasure staying here. The hippos grazing on the lawn are just an added bonus!!

(A very quick primer on how these types of lodges function in the context of a safari vacation. I had never been on a safari before so I had ZERO idea how it worked. It’s pretty simple; the lodges are just there as a base of operation for you to go out exploring with your guide. I’m sure you could try to have a relaxing break in one of the lodges - but that would totally underscore the fact that in the miles and miles and miles around where you’re reading your book or doing your crossword puzzle there are untold animals lurking around in their natural habitat and you can pretty passively and harmlessly SEE THEM. Drop your bags off - then go on a game-drive. Come back from that game-drive and dust off… have a meal… then back out again on a game drive. If you find yourself spending too much time around the camp then you are probably either doing it wrong or booked the wrong vacation.) the overall camp: The Lake Naivasha Country Club (AKA the MUTHU Country Club… AKA the MGM Country Club (no affiliation with MGM GRAND hotels and casinos)) was the third stop on our 9 day Kenya safari. By this point we had stayed in a fixed-structure lodge and a tented lodge. This would be the tie-breaker: another fixed-structure lodge. Pulling up into the drive of the lodge was the first real eye-opener: there were baboons, giraffes, zebras and water deer… all roaming around on the grounds as you drive in. The country club is located pretty much on the main strip of the town, so to see these creatures means that the animals aren’t exactly around the country club, rather the country club is within the animals. REALLY astounding.

The Country Club is laid out with one main building that contains the reception area, the bar, the dining hall and a meeting room. As with a lot of the other lodges that we looked at, the guest rooms branch out from the central buildings. There are plenty of staff on hand to help with your bags and to guide you to your room (this will be key after sunset…) the rooms: I want to be kind. I want to be charitable. I want to be understanding… the bedrooms are VERY tired. They are clean. But they have been well used. The furniture was probably top quality when it was purchased new - but after thousands of guests cycled through the rooms they look ‘less than optimal’. Again the room is clean. The linens are clean. The tiles in the bathrooms are clean… but that doesn’t mean they are appealing to the eye.

BUT

You are not staying at the Lake Naivasha Country Club for the bedroom. You won’t see the reason why you’re staying there until after the sun sets… keep reading. … all that said - the bed was extremely comfortable and we slept like babies. the food: The dining room consists of an inside seating area and an outside seating area. Normally I’d opt to sit inside. Not here. At this country club you absolutely NEED to sit on the veranda (…I’m getting to it…). The food prepared for the buffet was some of the be

Great place, great staff and amazing location. Conveniently placed by the lake, easy access to Crescent Islands. You can easily spots the hippos too, that was a great experience. Special thank you to Alfred who has been great with us during the whole stay!
