Staff were wonderful, so helpful and took time to help me plan a full day as I only had one day in Kandy. They also gave me suggestions for my trip after Kandy also. The gym was fantastic to have and the pool. Kettle and fridge in the rooms. Located very near to the city Centre of Kandy. Really worth the reasonable price! Really personal touch…much appreciated! Would totally recommend!

The bed was comfy. The view was amazing. The staff were very friendly. The location is very close to downtown but up a hill so very very quiet. The food is good, EXCEPT the mutton biryani. Don't order the Mutton Biryani it was just tough fatty meat that you couldn't chew unless you want to feel like you're chewing on an old piece of gum.

The staff was very good and clean hotel. The room is large and the hot water in the shower comes out firmly. It has a kitchen and is suitable for long stays, which is very good for this price. I felt like a beautiful business hotel, not a resort. Because it is built on the mountain, ants and so on are in the room, but I didn't care. It is a difficult location far from the city and on foot.

Overall stay in radisson kandy was pretty pleasant and comfortable. Room was very clean and presentable. Had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and the dining hall was spacious and the food was tasty with a variety of dishes. Roof top restaurants have a good variety of dishes with swimming pool and very view of skyline with visible kandy lake, buddha temples, mountains etc. Staff was very pleasant and ready to help for any requirements. Only was the availability of drinking water. Supplied only 2 bottles of 500 ml each and water cooler/ dispenser not available and guest had to buy additional water bottles at very high cost (compared to market rate. Hotel management can have a look at an issue of availability of drinking water. Otherwise the overall hotel stay was pleasant/ satisfying.
Earl's Regency Hotel

The hotel itself and its facilities are fantastic. The rooms are nice and the food is absolutely superb. Unfortunately the service in the restaurant was really poor, which made this stay absolutely unpleasant. We were given dirty table cloths (and they didn’t want to replace it after asking for it), our table was given to someone else while we were at the buffet, we had to order drinks several times until finally served, we were given the bill to sign while still eating the main dish (not even dessert) and actually wanted to order more drinks, after being seated, we had to wait min 10 min to place orders for drinks or get silverware etc. From a 5* hotel we definitely expected something better. This is the only hotel during our trip, where we experienced bad service. which is a pity, as otherwise the hotel is really nice. We would not book it again.
The Tea Cottage Resort & Spa
3.9/526 Reviews
Our stay was extremely disappointing, particularly with regards to the hotel management, specifically Anupa and Owner Sudharshana Bandara. The luxury cottage with a river view, chosen for its appealing plunge pool, turned out to be dirty and unusable for the entirety of the stay. The Greenwood villa, though clean, had issues like empty coffee, old tea bags with a moldy smell, and inconveniently located 150m away from the reception, making room service nearly impossible (we were refused tea to the room because of the distance- that’s when we realized how old the room tea was). The service was appalling; they initially demanded payment for ice and had confusion about the breakfast menu. We ordered continental, received a mix-up with meat in the breakfast, and were informed we might have to pay for it. Despite being on a half-board basis, there was a threat of an additional charge for a mistake on their end. On another occasion, when requesting continental breakfast again, they claimed to be out of string hoppers and limited the quantity to 15 string hoppers per person. Moreover, there was evidence of racial bias, as our Tamil-speaking waiter, who provided excellent service, was reportedly scolded by Sinhalese management for supposedly showing favoritism, assuming we were Tamil. The resort's racist management and the numerous service issues was a first and appalling experience for us. It highlights the need for the hotel management to undergo training, focusing on hospitality and if not that, maybe just basic decency.
