"The hotel could be much better if they improved their service! Overall, it's pleasant with a nice design. Let's start with the pros: + Great location, with a bank nearby for currency exchange, a coffee shop across the street, two decent fast-food places, and a small supermarket next to the hotel selling nuts, dried fruits by weight, and tea (prices are generally like a market). Tourist attractions are only 100 rubles and about 5-7 minutes away by taxi. + Good breakfast with a wide selection, almost everything you could want, and tasty. + The room was clean. I can't comment on regular cleaning as I requested it at reception for a specific time, and they accommodated me. + The indoor/outdoor pool is clean, and there's nobody there in the morning. Cons: - After 12 PM, the pool gets crowded. Local guys were smoking right on the sun loungers, and no staff member said anything to them. - Upon check-in, the administrator gave me a room that didn't match my booking. I booked an upgraded room, but I was given a 'budget economy' room on the first floor with a view of a concrete wall and absolutely no natural light! (Photos attached). The administrator refused to give me another room for free, claiming they had no rooms. However, after I contacted Trip.com support, he miraculously found another room category for me without any extra charge! A woman before me had the same situation, so it seems they try to scam guests by initially giving them a bad room and then charging extra to upgrade to the one they should have had in the first place. It was a bit stressful, but the issue was resolved in the end. - The shower barely worked; you could only wash under the tap as there was absolutely no water pressure in the showerhead. - The air conditioning only worked on maximum power; it didn't work at all or would switch off on the lowest setting, which was inconvenient. Hotel management needs to control staff who are ruining the hotel's reputation by assigning rooms that don't match bookings, thus spoiling the mood of guests who paid to relax! I also recommend partial renovation or replacement of the plumbing. The hotel looks solid from the outside, but there are clear management shortcomings internally. Fix these issues, and it will significantly improve occupancy and the number of positive reviews! It's all in your hands! I've also included photos of the room I eventually received after the dispute."

Nestled in Bukhara's Old Town, Mercure Bukhara Hotel is surrounded by UNESCO-listed landmarks that inspired its architects to blend tradition with elegance using natural wood and handcrafted ceramics. The hotel features a stunning XVI-century-style hammam with a serene pool, a state-of-the-art gym, a well-equipped conference hall for 50 guests, and a refined restaurant with exquisite cuisine-alongside a vibrant bar that constantly delights and surprises.

"This was the most 'unusual' hotel we stayed at in Uzbekistan. Although the hotel is quite new, having been built in 2025, and boasts an impressive design, the hallways on the guest room floors were poorly ventilated and always smelled of sewage. The air conditioning in the room was extremely noisy, like sleeping right next to an outdoor AC unit, making it impossible for light sleepers to get any rest. Consequently, on our first night, we had to approach the front desk to request a room change. The front desk staff on duty responded fairly quickly and agreed to our request. Late at night, we moved all our luggage with the staff to the new room. We finally managed to sleep, but the next morning we discovered that the second room was not only much smaller but also had unstable Wi-Fi, forcing us to rely on mobile data. Still, at least we could sleep, so we decided to make do. But the strange incidents didn't stop there. Our check-in process was already quite bumpy. We waited for a long time at the front desk while the staff spent ages typing on the computer with our passports, busy with who knows what, refusing to hand over the keys. We guessed the room wasn't ready, so we told them we'd accept a double room, even if it meant a bit of a squeeze for the two of us. Only then did they finally prepare the room cards. Back to the room. The next day, we decided to wait for the sun to go down a bit before heading out, so when housekeeping knocked to clean the room, we asked them to come back in 40 minutes, which they readily agreed to. However, when we returned later that day, we found that no one had come to clean the room. The only redeeming factor was the dining experience; both breakfast and dinner were very satisfying. The restaurant staff spoke fluent English, were friendly and attentive, and the food selection was rich, fresh, and delicious."

"This hotel is incredibly stylish, and its location right in the heart of the old town was super convenient. Since it was the middle of a hot June, being able to pop back to the hotel for a shower and a break after sightseeing was a lifesaver, all thanks to its prime location. The staff were also incredibly kind; when I was feeling a bit rundown from the heat, they even let me rest on the lobby sofa after checking out. I truly recommend this hotel. Thank you!"

"I booked a superior single room. I was a bit worried because I didn't get a response when I asked if it would be one bed for two adults, but thankfully it turned out to be two single beds pushed together, which was a relief. The room was on the first floor, a corner unit, facing a small courtyard past the reception (not the courtyard shown in pictures). Security was excellent. However, a downside was that the courtyard light stayed on all night, and the light coming through the glass window above the door disturbed my sleep. Also, the middle of the mattress was worn out, making it uncomfortable to sleep on. The reception staff were fluent in English and very helpful. Since I had an early check-out, they even prepared a breakfast box with sandwiches and an apple. Yandex taxi also came right to the hotel entrance, which was great. If I visit again, I'd definitely like to stay in a room facing the courtyard past the breakfast area."

"I highly recommend this family-run guesthouse! It's operated by a mother and her two sons. The two boys have excellent language skills, speaking fluent English, as well as Uzbek, Russian, and other languages, so communication is never an issue. The entire family is genuinely kind; whenever we returned from an outing or woke up in the morning, they would proactively ask if we needed any assistance. Every morning, breakfast would be prepared and waiting for us on the table. The owner-mother is gentle and kind; she even helped us wash, dry, and fold our clothes. The two young men are very well-mannered, sensible, and generous, handling the guesthouse reception and online communications. We experienced such pure and unpretentious kindness here – it was a truly precious part of our trip."

"Had a fantastic stay at the hotel. We stayed for 3 nights and it felt so nice coming back every night to a place that felt like a home. The deco was very modern and had a nice bathroom. But what stood out was the breakfast, we’d wake up in the morning to a knock on our door and a freshly cooked meal. We tried so many of their options and I would recommend the shashuhka and sandwich, but you can’t really go too wrong. The owner is super friendly and the location of the property is right next to many of the main attractions, so much so that we walked over to many of them."

"The location is the best in the city, and the museum is out immediately under the open sky . All the sights in step-by-step availability. Authentic interior in the yard and common rooms. The rooms themselves would like a better sauna and bed. Problems with sound isolation, but they are due to the historical building. I would stay overnight to feel the atmosphere of the city and history very recommended. I would be hard to live more 1-2 nights"

Easily my favourite stay throughout my trip in Uzbekistan. It's run by a beautiful family who was so welcoming and friendly. You really experience a comfortable but local and authentic stay in the heart of Bukhara, just a couple minutes' walk from the main sites. My room was cozy and very clean, and breakfast served daily was always delicious and filling. They offer free pick up and drop off service to both the train station and airport, and even did my laundry free of charge. Really hospitable place that came at a more than reasonable price. I highly recommend!

I wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse! I recommend it to all friends visiting the ancient city of Bukhara who are looking for a guesthouse experience! ❤️ The hosts are all incredibly patient and attentive. The owner always listened carefully to our requests, and communication in English was smooth. Pre-arrival email correspondence was also answered very promptly. Every night when we returned, there was a light left on for us, making it feel just like coming home. On our last day, when we left in the early morning, they even helped us call a taxi and saw us off. The hostess doesn't speak English but is very gentle and keeps the house spotlessly clean, inside and out. The owner enjoys reading, is gentle and devout; you can feel completely at ease staying here. 🏨 The location is superb! It's just a one-minute walk to the spot featured on the *Lonely Planet* cover, making it very convenient for watching sunrises and sunsets. The ancient city is also just a few minutes' walk away, making it very chill indeed. I hope the owner's guesthouse continues to thrive. Hardworking people deserve to be recognized by more people, and I hope future guests staying here in Bukhara can relax and enjoy their time. 😊😊

Loved staying here. Excellent, yet peaceful, location right in the middle of the ‘old town’, surrounded by shops and restaurants and most , if not all , of the important sites within walking distance. Friendly service, comfortable rooms and lovely breakfast. ( note this is Rayyan 1 hotel, next to the Synagogue, not sister hotel Rayyan 2, which Yandex taxi might take you close to, but still within walking distance)

Very clean hotel, spacious rooms and great balcony. excellent service! The English at the front desk is very fluent and there is no obstacle to communication! The breakfast type is also good, although it may be because of local habits, most cold dishes. In short, it is the most satisfying hotel on this trip to Central Asia.

The overall experience was good, but the overall facilities are a bit old (perhaps this is the standard in Uzbekistan), and it is a bit difficult to carry luggage without an elevator. The service attitude is polite but not very enthusiastic. It should be noted that you need to pay an additional tourist tax of about 50 RMB to get the small white receipt, and you must pay in cash, which is different from what was written on Ctrip. I am a bit speechless.

The hotel is not in the old city, but by taxi to get close enough. It was a little noisy from the cars on the street (view to the city). Breakfast was normal, varied, there was strawberries, cherry, apricots in the middle of May. But the eggs and casca were finished. We had a hard time to set up the TV, asked for help to staff. The air conditioner worked .good.bassnine good, new.

Overall, it was decent. The hotel is quite new, but the main drawback is that the room is a bit small. I've stayed further from the city center before and gotten larger rooms. Here, besides the bed, there's not much space left. There's an ATM on the ground floor, and the breakfast is excellent, a mix of Western and Uzbek styles, with strawberries which was a nice touch. It's easy to get a taxi, and it's not far from the old city, about 10 kilometers. Across from the hotel, there's a place that sells baked samsa, and about a kilometer away there are restaurants where you can order takeout.

Good mini hotel, friendly administrators. A minking happened, it is not clear for whom reason, but it is all ruined. There are breakfasts, cooking cashes, eggs, standard sausage cutting, east sweets, tea/coffee. If you stay at 2-3 night will not be tired if more, a lot of places where you can eat and even drink delicious coffee. The street is a little noisy, with a sensitive sleep. The mattress is as tough as everywhere in Uzbekistan. The fen is not in every room, but on request brought, hm, former. In general, everything was nice, I recommend. Not expensive and pleasant. If you buy the cheapest fans for all rooms and sleep pepper in the peppers, there will be 11 out of 10.
