Portimao Hotels with Wifi

"We arrived on Monday the 11th at 3:10 p.m. We went to reception to check in. According to their website, we could access our rooms after 3:00 p.m. After waiting two hours for the keys, according to them because the pillows hadn't arrived... we checked into our room and decided to stay that afternoon by the pool. There were only 30 sun loungers around the pool for more than 60 people, forcing us to lie on the grass. The breakfast buffet was poor... repetitive every day. The Serrano ham was the same one that was left over every day; today it was green (unappetizing). The room was average, the amenities were nonexistent... just a box of tissues and a shower cap... we know there were more because our friend had cotton swabs and shoe polish. Not even a toothbrush. At 5:00 PM, the room still isn't cleaned... we ask for it to be cleaned, and it takes them over an hour to come and clean it. For a fairly average 5-star hotel... I expected more after paying €700 for 5 nights."

"Hotel was in the perfect spot for us, in perfect walking distance to restaurants and bars. Hotel staff very friendly, the room was perfect for our one night stay, very clean and well presented, the bed was very comfortable. The only downside was the breakfast, not much to choose from as nothing seemed to be replaced when it had been emptied, initially there were no plates available to put food on either. All in all we had a nice stay, just breakfast needs a little better organisation."

"It's a great place to take a morning walk or a leisurely walk or jog in front of a beautiful beach. The spa is divided into time slots and requires a fee."

"Experience started badly at check-in when they refused to add my wife to the booking as Trip.com’s mobile  “deal” was for one guest in room.  Snarky reception person rude and borderline hostile - this was our third stay at this property and as in the past, we felt a subtle bias against us as non-Portuguese.  The Front Desk Manager got involved and he refused to comp. me my wife’s addition to our room and said we had to pay euros 40 for her two day’s breakfasts.  He appeared unkempt with s dirty shirt and was unshaven .  His attitude was aggressive and disrespectful in the extreme.  We asked to be relocated to a higher floor from the 2nd floor and he informed me that there were no sea view rooms on upper floors.  This was patently a lie as the initial receptionist told me that the hotel was not fully booked. While I was in discussions with the front desk receptionist, a hotel guest came up and complained that her room was bery hot.  She was told by the same snarky receptionist that the aircon was off due to a system changeover and she should open her balcony door! When I asked the same question later on to another receptionist, he said that they could give me a fan.  She was and English lady and when a Portuguese guest arrived to check/in, that dame clerk was all over him with handshakes all around.  Other staff around the property didn’t seem overly friendly to guests as well. It is unforgivable for any hotel, let alone a supposed 5 star property, not to have its HVAC system operable and even worse, not to advise guests of the issue. Our room was spacious, if a little warm, but showed the ravages of time with chipped furniture and surfaces.  Also, not too impressed by the powdered coffee presented in the room, or a euros 3 charged for a bucket of ice. I cannot recommend this property for a stay in Portimao and there are a few other more undated hotels nearby."

"I was there for the AFN Festival. For people who love to party, this place is perfect. You're right on the Strip and can party until morning. You're also instantly at the beach without much thought, and with all the shops and restaurants, you're perfectly catered for. The beach there is beautiful."

"The hotel is very close to the sea, there is a walkway directly to go, there is a supermarket more than one kilometer near the hotel, which can meet normal supply."

"View from the room is great and the room is fairly clean - for the price, if it’s not for the incident, I would not have anything to complain. The only downsides are the property is slightly dated and there is virtually no service in the evening. In the evening I arrived I was not told that there was no water during the day, and when I almost go into shower I realise the water were all muddy and the shower diverter is so old that it simply doesn’t work. I asked the receptionist about the water and I was then told I should just let the water flow (but he didn’t attempt to offer to come check it out or offer alternative room in the interim), and he told me he doesn’t know what to do with the diverter so I should just wait till next morning when his colleagues take over his shift from him."
