"I stayed at this hotel for two nights from August 3 to August 5, 2025. First of all, the hotel’s location is excellent—it’s near the square, making it very convenient to reach all the attractions. My room faced the river, offering a beautiful view of the Rio Mondego. This is an established hotel, and although the furniture is somewhat old, but everything is very clean, which didn’t affect my stay at all. The hotel staff are very warm and hospitable. The breakfast is a standard European-style buffet, providing enough nutrition to fuel a day of exploring. Most notably, I was initially concerned about the WiFi strength, but after recent improvements, it’s even better than what I have at home—upload and download speeds both exceed 300 Mbps, which was a pleasant surprise. To sum it up, I found my room to be great value for money, more memorable and impressive than many four or five-star hotels."

"Good location just next to Praça do
Comércio. Some complained about the claustrophobic nature of the room without windows but I think its fine as the only time I spent in was to sleep. The price is good and room is clean and with good location are all I asked for and the hotel fulfills all that. The people there is friendly and tried to help as they could, an added plus. Will stay there again if I come back to coimbra."

The room was very small, with various objects hanging on the walls that further reduce the space, next to the bed was hanging a sort of wooden guitar.
The bathroom is small but functional, the shower towels are the size of face towels and are very thin making it very difficult to dry yourself.
Good general cleanliness.
The hotel has a paid parking."

"Self-check-in is very convenient, the landlord will send an email in advance to inform the process and password, and there is free parking across the street, which is simple and easy to understand. "We stayed in the room on the second floor.
I had to climb a little steep stairs with a heavy suitcase, but the staff was very helpful to carry it. If you have heavy luggage, I think you can support it if you tell it in advance. The staff were very kind.
The building and the room were clean, and there was a kitchen and it was good to be able to cook simple food.
The only thing I was worried about was that the voice was easy to pass through, probably because of the structure of the building, and the conversation of the receptionist and other guests was easy to reach the room. However, there was no big noise when we stayed and we were able to spend comfortably.
Overall, it was a very comfortable stay."

TType987Located in the center of Coimbra, it is conveniently located for sightseeing. It is a little far from the express bus stop and the train station, so it is better to use a taxi or Uber. I arrived before the check-in time, but they kindly let me store my luggage (my luggage was brought to the room when I checked in). The room was clean and comfortable, but the shower/toilet was separated from the room by glass, so it may be uncomfortable for people other than couples. Breakfast is served on the top floor (5F). The variety and quantity were sufficient.

Impecable and excellent professionals, except a restaurant collaborator who transposed the bad being with colleagues to the service, unfit for a space of these and revealing indifference for the presence of guests.
The main dishes suggested in the Room Service letter, potato rice and cod with shell are far below the expected quality in this category hotel.

It was my wife’s birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and celebrated. They even included a small cake with a candle for the in-room breakfast—such a thoughtful touch! The welcome sparkling wine and cake were also a delightful surprise. Their exceptional attention to detail and outstanding customer service truly set them apart. Highly recommended for an unforgettable stay!

GGuest UserGood place. nice, handsome people. I needed to postpone the check out 1h and it was possible. The room smells huid. The walls with humidity. It was difficult to breathe in the room. The morning when I was waking, the walls and windows filled with water/humidity.
I work in Health. I know this is a very serious condition for the respiratory health of those who stay there. One night I had to sleep with the openest window to smell the humidity. I think they were in the room, and I think they were in the room, and I was not informed that they would come in without my knowledge.

GGuest UserWe stayed two nights in apartment 2.2 - one bedroom with a small office room which has a desk and single bed. Location was great, being right off the main pedestrian strip in the old town area, so very atmospheric and convenient for restaurants. Check-in is at Hotel Oslo, about 4min walk away so you will have to walk with your luggage for a few minutes, including up some stairs. The apartment building also does not have a lift, so you will need to be able to carry your luggage up stairs within the building. I don't think you would be able to call an Uber or taxi to the street in front of the building as it is very narrow so bear this in mind. Some other minor points I noticed about the apartment which you may find helpful:
- It directly faces another building on a narrow street, so the apartment doesn't really get natural sunlight
- There is a washer but no dryer - it took a whole day for our clothes to dry and the rack sat in the living room
- The apartment fittings are starting to feel a bit worn down

GGuest UserWe very much enjoyed our stay at Coimbra Monumentais. The location is absolutely perfect being so close to the steps up to the University. The facilities were fine. My only suggestion for improvement is to automatically send the check in information rather than asking us to ask for it. I missed that point in the reservation. Most of our stays were with Air BnB and they automatically send the information a day or two in advance. We came to the back door (the 7A address) and had an issue with getting in. Once in, we were very well looked after. Thanks so much to Mariannna!

The rooms are new but they are poorly insulated when it comes to noise, you can hear everything going on outside. If someone closes the door, you hear it like its your room.
