"For where you are (Oamaru is a small historical town) and depending on what you plan to do the clue is very much in the name. Parking was easy, decor quirky and very well designed. Cold buffet breakfast included named local cheeses, beautiful fruit and bread section with sociable table seating - gorgeous. We did a visit night at Oamaru Penguins, which for nature lovers is unbeatable (with dinner at Del Mare next door to the centre which was great ) it was absolutely perfect for our visit."

"While the room was on the smaller side, this was anticipated given that it doesn't offer a private bathroom. The listing indicated a 'separate toilet,' but in reality, it was just a washbasin within the room, and the toilet itself was shared. If privacy for facilities is important to you, I'd strongly advise against booking.
Parking was also a significant challenge. The hotel lacks its own car park, requiring guests to find street parking. There are only two spots directly outside the hotel, which are rarely vacant and can be used by non-guests too. The whole street is usually packed with parked cars, making it extremely difficult to find a space.
Opposite the hotel are private residences. We found the occupants to be quite rude; they aggressively told us not to park in any seemingly empty spots in front of their properties. This was the only instance of rudeness I encountered during my entire trip to New Zealand; every other local I met was incredibly friendly."

"Nice place with central location of the Oamaru town, near Woolworth supermarket, some nice old-fashion places and beach. Nice to visit and grab photos.

"Very close to Highway 1! There is a large supermarket 15 minutes' walk away where you can buy food. There is a full set of kitchenware and tableware in the room, which is very convenient! Note: The parking space number is the same as the room number. The boss is also in the courtyard and doesn't look very friendly!"

"The place is spacious and the location is excellent. It is right next to the main road. After watching the little penguins, you can buy fast food nearby before returning to the hostel. The room is spacious and there are staff on duty at night. You can park at the door, which is very convenient"

"Because I wanted to see the little penguin 🐧, I had to stay in Omalu for one night and finally chose to punch in the first hotel on the list of this homestay. I really like the decoration style of the hotel, there are many Chinese elements in it, because the owner has stayed in different cities in China for more than 20 years. The most surprising thing is that I actually ate the only Chinese meal in the South Island Tour for breakfast. 😄👍"

88037****The homestay is on the hill in the center of Oamaru, overlooking the entire town and the Pacific Ocean in the distance. Unfortunately, the day we stayed was cloudy and we couldn't see the sunrise. 10 minutes drive from the Penguin Center. The cooking facilities in the house are particularly complete. At first glance, it is prepared for the Chinese. Not only have seasonings, but also rice cookers. This is not available in other hotels. If you prepare a large spoon, it will be 100 points.

The only downside is that the kitchen utensils are a bit sparse – not even a single knife, just one pair of scissors. I'd suggest the hotel at least provides a knife set. Also, there were only two hangers, which wasn't enough. The bed was quite comfortable. The water pressure was very low, so I didn't even bother showering that day.

The room is clean and hygienic. It has its own yard and parking is convenient. The car is parked at the door of the room. The motel is right on the main road, making it easy to get in and out. This is a very nice motel, highly recommended!

GGuest UserFacilities: All are quite complete, but the soundproofing is so bad that you can feel the cough next to your ear, and the bed is so soft that your waist will definitely ache the next day after sleeping on it.
Hygiene: It is clean, but there will be a lot of bugs flying in as soon as the door is opened. This has nothing to do with the hotel. It is mainly because there are a lot of bugs in the local area, so it is barely 4.5.
Environment: There was a Chinese group on the day of check-in. Most of the members were 50-year-old southern aunts and uncles, so please imagine the whole environment on the day.
Service: I really thought it was a hotel with a bit of artistic atmosphere after seeing the name, so I placed an order, but it was actually a motel. When checking in, the fat ********* girl's *** and indifferent expression were also very disgusting. After checking in, the various Chinese signs in the room that were visible to the naked eye, saying what you are not allowed to do, and if you do it, you will be fined a certain amount of money, which is also very uncomfortable. I believe that many Chinese must have done various things to cause this, but after all, they are guests, and they don't owe you anything. You can remind the motel, but there is no need to warn them proactively.
