"The hotel is lovely, great atmosphere and brilliant location. I got the sea view room and it's literally in front view of the beach and all the action. The room was large, spacious, clean, massive super-king bed, and the facilities were good as I discovered a basement gym which is really neat. However, as frequent traveller who loves functionality, in comparison to what I've seen in other like-for-like hotels, for a premium room with sea view, one of the window panes were smudged and dirty so I couldn't fully appreciate the ”sea view”. Secondly, for a premium room you would expect biscuits, water bottle, fridge as minimum, and optional extras for premium rooms I see bath robes and slippers. But the hotel didn't have them at all. All on top of that they didn't serve dinner as a whole (and hence no room service) and then charging £15 for parking, which is ridiculous to be totally honest. I parked on street 2 min walk away £6 by 12pm next day."

"Although the standard twin bed room we occupied is quite small, it is well decorated, has modern furniture and is spotlessly clean. There is a recent shower unit, a TV, a fan, and tea and coffee making facilities. There are twin electrical sockets and 4 USB outlets adjacent to each bed. While the window looks along the coast rather than directly out to sea, the view is very pleasant. The English breakfast was good, and the manager, Adam, very helpful. There is parking on a hard-standing at the side of the hotel. The sea and pier are close by, and the main shopping area is walkable. Overall we enjoyed our stay a lot. Two constructive suggestions are (1) a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries which won't stand on top of the curved sink, and (2) provision of a toilet brush."

I only had an overnight stay at this little guest house but I would have lived to stay longer. The hotel itself is very centrally placed, the railway station and all attractions are within easy walking distance. On arrival I received a friendly welcome and was helped with my case to my room. Nothing was too much much trouble. My room was very clean and extremely well equipped. I highly recommend this lovely little guest house. I would certainly use again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Late review here. Very very nice welcome from the owners - couldn’t have been nicer. Exactly as described. Sadly had to leave early in the mornings but heard from another guest that the breakfast was delicious. Easy to find, ample parking both on street and nearby huge car park if needed. Quiet, yet only 5 minutes walk from shops and pubs etc. Value for money would stay again.

The Palace Hotel was a delight to stay at. The rooms were warm, comfortable and clean. The staff were lovely and we were surprised to have evening entertainment. We went on a budget and were delighted with the hotel. Only thing to add was the bathroom was a bit dated and could do with a new set, I understand having orgional features is nice, however, I think new would be better. Also we were told breakfast would be £9.00 each on arrival, but when we went to pay it what a whopping £27.00 for a full English (1 of each item) amd some avocado and boiled egg on toast... of course we could have the continental... but it did make us cough a bit!! The service was great though. Overall great stay would recommend and return.

Location is good if you want to go to the resort. We were using the hotel to attend a family funeral Car parking can be difficult and we parked at a sister hotel 10 minutes walk away. Room was too small and needs updating. Old tea bag left in kettle. Some black mould in bathroom. The breakfast was good, although portion size was small. Overall - good value but better hotels locally at small additional cost
