"After comparing several accommodations for my trip to Zhangye Danxia, I chose Kaoshan Daying (Back Mountain Camp). The Starry Sky Yurt was what truly captivated me, and my entire stay exceeded expectations – highly recommended! Location-wise, the camp is right next to the West Gate of the Danxia scenic area, making travel incredibly convenient. No need for roundabout detours; I could step out early in the morning to catch the Danxia sunrise. This fantastic location also saved me a lot of effort when it came to stargazing at night. Now, let's talk about the Starry Sky Yurt. Before I arrived, I was a bit worried about roughing it in a tent out in the wilderness, but my stay completely changed my mind. The yurt was spotlessly clean and tidy, well-ventilated with no strange odors. The bed was soft and comfortable, and despite the large temperature swings in the Gobi Desert between day and night, the interior was well-insulated and never felt cold or damp. The en-suite bathroom was excellent, with 24-hour hot water and a full range of toiletries. It truly offered a luxurious wilderness experience that blended comfort with ambiance, without compromising on daily conveniences. However, the panoramic skylight at the top of the yurt was the real highlight and the biggest surprise of my trip. The camp is far from the city, meaning almost no light pollution. As night fell, the entire sky was unblocked and spread out above me. I didn't even have to step outside into the wind; I could lie in bed and gaze up at the countless stars. The Milky Way stretched clearly across the mountains, with stars so bright and dense – a magnificent night sky rarely seen in the city. Lying there quietly, watching the celestial river flow and listening to the distant Gobi breeze, all my travel fatigue slowly melted away. It was incredibly romantic and healing. The camp's amenities were also very thoughtful. In the evening, you can enjoy a starlit BBQ and hotpot. After dinner, there's a bonfire party. Then, after a stroll, you return to your yurt to continue enjoying the tranquil starry sky. The self-driving parking area is spacious, and RV resupply facilities are comprehensive. The staff were warm and meticulous in their service; they thoughtfully informed me of the best stargazing times and were always on hand to help with any issues. The unique Danxia mountain light show at night, coupled with the vast starry sky, created a multi-layered and stunning view. The special clear-broth suoyang hotpot was authentic and generously portioned, perfect for a hot meal after a day of exploring. Whether you're traveling as a couple or with friends, the Starry Sky Yurt is an exceptionally suitable choice. You can admire the Danxia landforms up close and immerse yourself in lying under the Milky Way – it perfectly combines natural beauty with comfortable accommodation. This is an unmissable gem when visiting Danxia, and I will definitely choose the Starry Sky Yurt again on my next trip to Zhangye."

"This hotel is incredibly close to the Danxia scenic area, even closer to the visitor center than some parts of the official parking lot. They host a lot of tour groups, but that's no issue at all! They upgraded my standard room two categories to a family room. No worries about breakfast either; the tour groups are usually gone by 8 AM, just as I'm waking up. There aren't many dining options nearby, but the parking attendant at the entrance was super helpful. All in all, for the price, it's absolutely perfect."

The location is perfect—just a short walking distance to the west entrance of the Danxia park, making it easy to explore. Right across the hotel is a fantastic restaurant, so finding great food was effortless. "We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The room was very nice, incredibly spacious, and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was also good with a nice variety to start the day. What truly made our stay memorable was the staff—their attentiveness and service were exceptional, and they were incredibly friendly. Even though we didn't speak the same language, communication worked perfectly using a translation app. We are already looking forward to visiting again!"

"the owner was so friendly and helpful. they brought us to the entrqnce personally. i only found out that there were two main entrances when i arrived. The North and West entrance. I ended up staying at the West entrance. Not much activities at night. The North was a lot more shops and restaurants around the area. One thing I like was the quietness and the hospitality shown by the owner. They provide a lot of water and a fruit platter too. We walked to the entrance the next morning. Only took about 15 min. Problem is the shuttle busses were not so frequent in the morning session from the West gate. One point to consider. Other than that, this place is superb for less noise. Thank you."

The guest room was a true delight. Opening the door, fresh air washed over us, free of any odor. The cleanliness was meticulous, from the desks and beds to the corners, spotless. Warm yellow lighting and soft bedding created a warm and comfortable atmosphere throughout the room, making it feel like home and relaxing. The morning breakfast was a further delight. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, from local specialties to classic breakfast favorites. Fresh ingredients, meticulously prepared, ensured every bite was satisfying. The dining environment was also exceptionally comfortable, with a clean, tidy table and soft music playing in the background, making breakfast a true pleasure. This trip, whether it is the comfortable accommodation, delicious breakfast, or the shocking experience of the Danxia Scenic Area and ethnic culture, makes people feel extremely fulfilled and happy, and the experience is right to the maximum!"

"The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was super convenient. It was a quick walk straight out the door to the Colorful Danxia景区, and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. The owner was really welcoming too. We arrived at the hotel after 5 PM, and to help us save time, the owner even drove us directly to the scenic area entrance."

The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the Danxia Scenic Area, a 15-minute walk away, and the magnificent mountain color can be seen by pushing the window. The room is spacious and bright, newly renovated this year, the style combines the local Danxia landform elements, which are modern and distinctive. The bedding is soft and comfortable, the sound insulation is very good, and the night sleeps. The service is warm and thoughtful, the boss is very good, and he also sent us local apricots. "The hotel is located at the west gate of the Colorful Danxia Scenic Area. It is very close and is especially suitable for watching the sunset in the evening and the sunrise in the morning. You can park for free at the door. The room is clean, has air conditioning and an electric mattress, and is also warmly equipped with disposable towels and toilet mats.
