"I stayed at The Jensens and while the location is undeniably ideal, close to everything you need and in a vibrant, convenient area, the stay was let down by a major issue. The soundproofing isn’t great, with doors frequently slamming throughout the property. However, given that it’s a hostel-style accommodation, this was something we were able to accept and move past. What wasn’t acceptable, though, was the presence of rats in the walls and ceiling above our room. We were woken multiple times each night by loud scratching and scurrying noises, which was extremely unsettling and made it very difficult to sleep. We also have audio recordings that clearly capture the extent of the problem. It’s a real shame, as the location is fantastic, but this issue seriously impacted our stay. I would strongly recommend that management address the pest problem as a priority."

"A great hotel not far from the very heart of Sydney and located in Potts Point and Kings Cross. Very comfortable with a well equipped room and very friendly staff to assist with anything. Despite being in the heart of the area, the hotel was quiet enough to get well rested. Thank you for a really nice stay."

"I needed a cheap place to stay, and overall the hostel was okay, but there are definitely things that need improvement. The room itself was messy, mainly because some guests were taking up a lot of shared space with their belongings on the floor and on top of the lockers. I know this is partly the guests’ responsibility, but in a dorm, there should be better supervision or reminders. The shower was nice, and the kitchen facilities were useful, but the kitchen was not well maintained. There were dirty dishes piling up, clogged sinks full of food, and old worn-out sponges that should be replaced more often. There also needs to be proper cloths for drying dishes and wiping tables, plus somewhere hygienic to hang them. The fridges were also completely full, and it didn’t seem like anyone was checking old food from guests who had already checked out. Someone even removed my food from the fridge and left it on the counter at room temperature for hours, which was really frustrating. Overall, the hostel has potential and the basic facilities are there, but it needs better cleaning, better kitchen organization, more fridge space, and more staff supervision in the shared areas."

"The room was very comfortable, with a charming vintage and luxurious feel. It was also incredibly quiet, and the location couldn't be better – less than a kilometer from the Sydney Opera House, offering fantastic views. The surrounding restaurants were excellent with plenty of choices."

"Strong point: Ideal location close to the metro exit. It is possible to go to the center of Sydney on foot and if you walk around Victoria it is possible to have a very beautiful view of the Sydney landscape. Weak point: The hotel has a laundry room, however it is a shame that it is not clean. The hotel is not new, the room was ok for a short stay."

"The location is great, right next to King's Cross metro station. There's a McDonald's, Woolworths, and Coles nearby, making it super convenient for food and groceries. However, it can get a bit rowdy at night; you can hear drunk people yelling on the street and police sirens from the room. There's no elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage, you might want to ask for a room on a lower floor. The kitchen isn't very clean, so if you plan on cooking, I'd recommend bringing your own pots. Despite these points, it's a good budget option in the area that includes breakfast, so it's still worth considering!"

"I truly enjoyed my stay at Regent Courts Hotel. The property has a wonderful heritage charm, with its old building structure and a fascinating vintage lift — complete with a metal sliding door and wooden inner door that gave a nostalgic feel. Spacious room with two queen beds, perfect for four people. Beds and duvets were very comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. The kitchenette was a great addition, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a Nespresso machine with capsules, milk packets, and other beverage sachets provided. A drip tray and table cloth for drying utensils, pots, and plates would be helpful. The kitchen lighting was too dim in the evenings, making cooking difficult. The knife provided was not sharp and had a chip, which could potentially cause food contamination — replacing it would improve safety. Although a washer was available, we didn’t use it since the dryer was located on the ground floor, which felt inconvenient. The Kings Cross train station is just a 5–7 minute walk away, making travel around Sydney easy. Both Woolworths and Coles supermarkets are about 7 minutes away at the end of the street, perfect for picking up essentials. The staff — from front desk to housekeeping — were consistently polite and welcoming, adding warmth to the stay. A short train trip takes you to Bondi Junction, where you can catch a bus to Bondi Beach — ideal for spending a relaxing day by the ocean. The rooftop was another relaxing spot. We visited briefly to take pictures and enjoy the fresh air. Unfortunately, I was welcomed by tiny dead roaches in the toilet. On departure, I noticed a live one coming in and out of a cracked wall near the basin support. Addressing this issue would greatly improve the overall guest experience. Overall, Regent Courts Hotel is a good place to stay for four nights. The shower, heater, water supply, safety, and lift all had no issues. Its location is accessible, close to supermarkets and the train station. The only drawback was the roach sightings, which should be addressed."

"Great location and great people. For the price it is very good. Points of criticism: - If you have the upper bed, you don't have a socket on the bed. You may be lucky that there is an extension cable - there are no curtains on the beds. So zero privacy"
