"(1) The front desk lady was incredibly condescending. She was clearly of Asian descent, but she looked at us with utter contempt the moment we walked in. Her attitude was completely impatient and rude, and she spoke to us in a superior tone, lacking any professional hotel etiquette. It was really uncomfortable to be discriminated against by another Asian person in Australia – seriously, what's up with that? 😅 Later, when we were leaving, we saw her being incredibly friendly to a Caucasian man, smiling and greeting him as soon as he entered, asking about his needs. What's that supposed to mean? 😅 I was happy until I saw her at the front desk, and then I just wanted to switch hotels. (2) The hotel also completely failed to inform us about the check-out time. It's completely different from the standard 12:00 PM check-out in China. We started getting knocks on our door at 8:00 AM, but no one spoke, so we thought it was a mistake. No one told us it was because we needed to check out. We weren't informed at all beforehand, which resulted in us being ordered to leave immediately. It was humiliating and offensive; we were almost kicked out and were charged an extra $50! ❗️ (3) The other hotel staff were very nice, and the Thai food at the hotel was also delicious 😋. The guests from other countries we met were also very friendly and polite. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but the fried rice was exceptionally good."

"This was our first stop on our road trip from Melbourne to Adelaide, via the Great Ocean Road. As it was my first time driving a right-hand-drive car, I chose Geelong, being the closest to Melbourne, as our initial stopover. The hotel's location is excellent, right in front of Geelong Beach and behind Geelong's commercial center, making it convenient for dining and stocking up for a long drive. Both the hotel room and bathroom were spacious and bright, and at least upon check-in, they were very clean. The front desk staff was friendly and proactively arranged valet parking. Since there were three of us, housekeeping promptly set up and made the sofa bed. I do have to mention a common drawback: there were no disposable slippers. And another common issue: in today's personalized era, the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided aren't really that useful. It would be better to save on those and instead provide guests with disposable slippers and shower caps."

"I've stayed at the Admiralty Inn a number of times in the past and usually the stay has been good. On a previous stay earlier in the year, and as I was packing to leave, there was a knock on the door saying 'Housekeeping'. The time was 9.40am (checkout is at 10am) and I just felt I was being pushed to leave. I let it slide at the time as i wasn't far off packed and ready to leave anyhow. However, on my most recent stay in May it was taken to a whole new level. Having in mind my previous experience, I decided to place the 'Do not disturb' sign on the door. My thinking being that this should mean that I wouldn't be disturbed until the 10am checkout. At 8.09am, yes I checked the time, the door to my room opened, no knock no warning, and the housekeeper is poking their head in the door. Whilst I was awake I was still in bed though, but what if I had just jumped out of the shower and no clothes on? The housekeeper did make a hasty retreat saying sorry but I just feel that's not good enough, especially as I had the 'Do not disturb' sign on the door and almost two hours prior to checkout. It makes me wonder if any one else has had a similar experience. When you book a motel room you do expect a reasonable level of privacy but I am now very hesitant to stay at the Admiralty Inn again as I feel I cannot be guaranteed any privacy at all. In saying all this, I was tempted to leave a poor or bad review, but I settled on average as the room itself was adequate for the price. All things considered I think my rating of average is more than fair."

"Nice and peaceful location. Room was cool even though it was a very hot day so it wasn’t necessary to use aircon. Awesome mattress to sleep on - not too hard or too soft, perfect! Plenty of power points to charge devices, located at bedside as well as by dining table. Hassle-free check-in and check-out. Pokie gaming in the evening was fun. We would definitely stay here again. "I had a particularly satisfying stay this time. The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around and shopping, with plenty of dining options nearby. The front desk staff were warm and thoughtful, handling check-in and check-out efficiently with a gentle and polite attitude. The room was clean and tidy, with a logical layout, soft and comfortable bedding, and great sound insulation, ensuring a very quiet night's rest. The bathroom had a wet/dry separation, all toiletries were complete and clean, and there was ample hot water supply. The overall environment and hygiene were well-maintained; there were no unpleasant odors in the hallways or public areas. The breakfast offered a rich variety, including meat, vegetables, desserts, and drinks, all tasting homely and offering good value. The hotel provides great value for money, with comprehensive facilities and attentive service, leading to a wonderful living experience. I will definitely choose this place again on my next visit and highly recommend it to everyone."

"Love the stay, clean and spacious for the trip. Location is great, walking distance to the pier and view was excellent with ferry wheels view, will definitely come back again."

"This hotel is located in Geelong, the starting point of the Great Ocean Road. It's very new and clean. A special shout-out to the incredibly comfortable bedding; they even let you choose between soft and firm pillows. The only downside is that if you need parking, you have to reserve an underground spot in advance via email or the hotel's website. Otherwise, you'll have to park a few minutes' drive away or find street parking around the hotel."

"A very decent motel. Because it was already 18:30 when we arrived at Melbourne Airport and it was 20:00 to pick up the car, we were heading to the Great Ocean Road the next day, so we chose Geelong to spend the night. Surprisingly, there is a microwave, two refrigerators, and some tableware in the room."

"Good stop over place in Geelong before travelling down to great ocean road. Location is near enough to the city center but away from the noise and crowd. Great burger joint right by the motel too. Lift provided to transport luggages upstairs to rooms."
