"We had an enjoyable stay at this hotel, which is in a fantastic location. However, we encountered a significant inconvenience during check-out. Our flight was at 7 AM, so we checked out around 5 AM to catch a taxi to the airport. Unfortunately, both the elevator and the lift were turned off at that time. Since the hotel is located on the second floor of the building, we had to manually carry all our luggage down a long flight of stairs.
This was especially difficult as we were a group of five, including two elderly ladies. Thankfully, my husband was able to manage the luggage, but this situation could have been very challenging for others. We strongly recommend that the hotel ensure the elevator is operational for early-morning check-outs to better accommodate guests."

"The hotel offers comprehensive facilities, and the room was equipped with an air purifier. It was quite clean and surprisingly spacious. The location is excellent, being close to Watanabedori Subway Station and popular attractions such as Tenjin Underground Shopping Center and Canal City Hakata. There's a 7-Eleven and a sizable supermarket right outside, which makes buying breakfast and fruits very convenient. The hotel lobby is on the 3rd floor and is quite spacious. When I accidentally scalded my hand with hot water, the front desk staff immediately provided an ice pack for prompt treatment. I really appreciated their quick assistance."

"We stayed for 4 nights in residential room which provides kitchen facilities (we only used the kettle) as well as washer/dryer (which we used often and really grateful for this service). We stayed here too about a week ago and hotel provides free luggage storage (for our large suitcase) for our 2nd check in.
Location is excellent with bus terminal and subway station very close by. Also surrounded by department stores, restaurants as well as Yatai.
Reception staff always so attentive; they were also able to book us a taxi to the airport for our morning flight.
Will definitely stay here for my future trips to Fukuoka."

Amenities are all provided, and there’s a washing machine inside the room which is really convenient. However, room feels smaller than pictures, unable to open two luggages at the same time. "As a solo traveler, I was looking for a slightly cheaper option and didn't mind a smaller room, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The hotel's location is just as convenient as those near Hakata Station. The Nanakuma subway line is right at its doorstep, and it's also a straightforward 10-minute walk along the main road to Hakata Station. Canal City is right next door, Kushida Shrine is just behind, and there's a 24-hour drugstore and a large supermarket right by the hotel, making shopping incredibly convenient. Housekeeping isn't daily; it's every other day. If you need your room cleaned, you can place a request tag on your door. However, even when the room isn't cleaned, fresh towels are provided outside your door."

"This is a brand new hotel, and I was thoroughly impressed with everything. I wanted to clear up a couple of points raised in other reviews:
1. First, regarding the complaints about having to pay an extra few hundred JPY at the front desk without prior notification: this is a truly irresponsible and misleading comment. All cities in Japan levy an accommodation tax, and this charge is always clearly detailed on your booking confirmation as an amount payable upon arrival at the hotel. There is absolutely no issue of the hotel overcharging.
2. Secondly, some reviewers found it inconvenient that the lobby is on the 19th floor while rooms are on the 18th floor and below, requiring an elevator transfer. In my experience, this setup is quite common in Japan. While it's typical for lobbies to be on lower floors and rooms on higher ones, it's also true that direct ground access from rooms without an elevator switch is rare in Japan; you almost always need to transfer. This hotel's decision to place the lobby on the top floor is clearly designed to offer guests a stunning shared space with panoramic views of Fukuoka Port, Fukuoka Tower, and the ocean. With high-speed elevators whisking you to the lobby in mere seconds, I honestly don't see this as an inconvenience at all."

"This hotel is incredibly convenient—Hakata Station and the main bus terminal are just across the street. There are several restaurants nearby, including my favorites: Ichiran and Starbucks, both right next to the hotel.
The breakfast café has a casual, cafeteria-style vibe, but it was very welcoming. Even when we came back late, they still offered a self-service coffee, tea, and water, which was a really thoughtful touch., though I’m not sure if it’s open 24 hours. We were able to bring back dinner and eat it at the café, which made the experience feel even more heartwarming and comfortable.
The room was spacious and brightly lit with fluorescent lighting—something refreshingly different from the dim lighting in many other hotels. The service was excellent.
One memorable experience I had was when I accidentally left my brand-new bag on a city bus. A female staff member named Ms. Uemoto/上本 went above and beyond to help me—she spent about half an hour on the phone coordinating with the bus company and gave me clear directions to their office. Thanks to her help, I was able to retrieve my bag. I’m truly grateful and appreciate her kindness and dedication.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Fukuoka, and I’d happily stay here again.😊"

"Location is great. 1 min walk to the underpass and it’s linked to many restaurants and mall.
It’s a small hotel. Room is small but spacious toilet. Bathtub and standing shower available. We like the toilet.
The only issue we had was seeing a dirty cloth left by housekeeping in my room AND it was on top of my open luggage which my clean stuff was there. I was upset and called the front desk. The staff came up as he could not understand what I was saying. * The staff are not good in English. In the end I passed the dirty cloth to him.
I took taxi 2 way from hotel from airport and it’s around 2200-2400 yen each trip.
Overall, we had a good stay as the bed was comfortable too."

"Location of the hotel was fantastic. Walkable to the main busy area with lots of restaurants.
It was golden week when we stayed so the roads were all blocked off.
The hotel breakfast was amazing. Japanese style with perfect variety and so lovely and tidy.
There are magnets on the room doors where you can indicate if you need housekeeping or just towels. We did towels only and there was a big bag of fresh towels and pjs hanging on the door.
It was a small room but functional. Had AirPlay on the tv.
Also has welcome wine and popcorn plus a coffee machine in the lobby. The lobby also has all the items you need such as toothbrushes, comb, hair ties, shaver, face towels.
I would stay here again."

AAndThe check in time was 2pm , an hour earlier than the usual hotels during our stay in Japan. Our luggages were brought up to our rooms as we returned slightly later than our supposedly check in time. It was a nice gesture. The room was of a good size, with a couch where I could sit to read instead of the bed. The bed was comfortable, a degree of hardness, with big fluffy quilt - there were 4 pillows, 2 were extra firm. On the side, There were 3 salts bath with different fragrance to choose from unlike the conventional prepack salt bath available at the reception. There were also chopsticks, fork and spoons, next to the microwave available for our buy-backs. Though the walk from the station wasn’t exactly near, it was all good as it was strategically located beside Lawson.

We had a wonderful stay at Park Canvas Fukuoka Hotel during our family trip, and I highly recommend it for anyone traveling with children.
From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming to families.
The room was spacious, clean, and modern with a calming minimalist design. We had plenty of space for a stroller and baby cot, and the beds were incredibly comfortable
One of the highlights was the lounge area, where we could relax in the evening.
The hotel is also located in a quiet yet convenient area, close to public transport, shopping, and family-friendly restaurants.
We felt very at ease here as parents traveling with a young child.
The thoughtful touches, great service, and calm environment made this one of the best family hotel experiences we’ve had in Japan.
Highly recommend Park Canvas Fukuoka for families who value comfort, convenience, and sincere hospitality.

LLynn hkSecluded high end hotel by the Fukuoka pier away from the city which most guests arrived by driving their own rental car. Both service and hotel premise are outstanding. They got well trained service oriented staff helped guests with sending their luggages to their room, and showed guests their room and made guests feel like a vip. They also got complimentary free flow of alcohols and snacks serving from 3-5pm and 8-11pm (with ramen serving at 10pm) at the lobby cafe which we appreciated and also enjoyed a lot. We attended these complimentary drink and snack outings mostly by ourselves alone without other guests.. However, there is some room to improve in terms of cleanliness in housekeeping as I found a piece of hair in the bed and some food on floor along with a receipt left by the previous guest which is not acceptable for this sort of high end hotel. I also requested for a room away from the noise and given that they only got 10-15 parties checked in last night with 5 floors, staff has assigned us to a room next to another party and we could hear the couple arguing at night when we opened the balcony door. Having said that we still found this hotel lovely as we appreciate the warmness of all the welcoming staff from the check in, the bonfire event from 8-10pm and all the lobby cafe staff throughout the whole stay. The room, the beds and amenities are all excellent.. I will recommend this hotel to friends in off peak seasons esp in a good discounted price.

YYue LingClean and well appointed hotel within 8 min walk from Hakata Station. Love the soft lighting and rows of tall bookshelves in the lobby. Brings a sense of calmness. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids aged 6 and 9) and the Chapter 3 room was spacious with a huge bathroom. Would definitely stay here again.

Location: 20 mins walk from Hakata station. 4 mins walk to Gion bus stop or canal city bus stop, both go to Hakata station in around 10 mins. Also, 15 mins walk to Kawabata Shopping Arcade and Canal CityHakata. There are not many restaurants nearby, only convenient stores around the area. Better eat before returning to the hotel. There is a MaxValu Express (open for 24 hrs, 2 levels: 1st floor drugsstore and B1 supermarket) 4 mins walk from the hotel. Great option for late night snacks, drinks,daily necessities, and tax-free shopping.
Room: small and a bit old, cleanliness ok, no bath tub only shower stall. Shower water is not hot enough. Very poor sound insulation (recommended to use earplugs when sleepping. Provided on 1st floor of hotel). You can hear almost every single activity happening next door（literally meaning）. Light switches far away from bed, which is a bit inconvenient.
Front desk: it is an unmanned hotel. Self check-in via smartphone prior (utilizing the QR code) or via computer on 1st floor. Self check-out via tablet provided inside the room or computer on 1st floor. Using password to enter room. There is a female staff member in the lobby area in the morning if needed help for anything. She doesn't speak much English but is very friendly and willing to help. Also, you can text the hotel staff member for assistance if needed via the room tablet provided. They reply quickly.
Amenities: self-service, self luggage storage, only basic items provided. There is no ice maker and only 1 laundry machine on the 1st floor (always being occupied).
All in all, Pros: though the hotel is unmanned, I find it pretty chill, easy and efficient as long as you figure out how things work (not hard at all, perhaps more accessible for younger visitors). Cons: You really have to lower your expectations for everything else. I personally feel it is more like a hostel than a hotel. But considering it is the Hakata area and with this affortable price, can't murmur.
