"The picture shows the stunning view of Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) from my window. It was breathtakingly beautiful. I was so excited when I opened the window in the morning. At breakfast, a fellow guest at my table, who had just come down from Bright Summit (Guangming Ding), exclaimed that they had witnessed a perfect sunrise today. Coincidentally, we had seen an equally perfect sunset from the very same spot the day before. Pictures three and four are of that sunset. We were quite exhausted after watching the sunset from Bright Summit and walking back. As soon as we entered the hotel, a sense of warmth and brightness enveloped us. Manager Xiao Min softly and gently inquired about our needs. Later in the evening, she even brought us mugwort sachets, which was when I realized there was a foot-soaking tub in the room. A basin of hot water was exactly what we needed to wash away our fatigue. We had a perfect trip to Huangshan, and choosing to stay at Baiyun Hotel was definitely a wise decision."

"The Xihai Hotel is located near the Xihai Grand Canyon, about an hour's walk from the Yungu cable car, with not too many steps. We saw many porters along the way, who work incredibly hard, so we understand the slightly higher room rates. The rooms are quite compact; the beds are not much bigger than those in university dorms, everything is miniature-sized 🤣. However, I must praise the excellent service. The staff were warm and attentive, and the front desk even offered comforting ginger tea, which was a thoughtful touch in the sub-zero temperatures. We also received a complimentary souvenir, which we would have happily taken if we weren't already heavily burdened from hiking down the mountain! I particularly enjoyed the 7:30 PM lobby performance; it was creative and considerate, with almost everyone getting a small stool to sit on. The Cloud Foot Massage within the hotel seemed effective, aside from the price! The breakfast buffet offered a good variety, with many items I enjoyed. The black tea and coffee were average; the black tea was milder than the local Qimen black tea from Huangshan but still pleasantly warming."

"This hotel is located inside the transfer center, offering priority access in the morning (there's a time difference between the hotel and the transfer center gates opening). However, if you're not planning to be among the first group to head up the mountain at 6 AM, I wouldn't recommend staying here. Here's why: ① It's a very average budget hotel overall. The lobby feels like a guesthouse, and the bedding and cleanliness in the rooms are quite mediocre, with no breakfast provided. ② If you're going up the mountain during the off-season around 8 or 9 AM, there's usually no queue anyway, so priority access doesn't really mean much. ③ The transfer center closes at night, which makes ordering takeout a bit inconvenient."

"The hotel boasts a truly unique location. The guest service was incredibly thoughtful; they even provided complimentary fruit. It's worth noting that every single item here is painstakingly carried up by porters. The staff enthusiastically shared the best spots for watching both sunrise and sunset. Dinner was also excellent. While it was a bit on the pricey side, the steamed local white fish offered fantastic value for money, and the overall cost was well within our expectations."

"The front desk ladies were very helpful and friendly. Two thumbs up. The carpet in the hallways was a bit old and hard to keep it pristine under the hot and moist climate. But once you were in the room it was another story. Beds were nice and soft and clean and bathroom was clean and tidy. Breakfast was buffet style and good. The hotel is not too far from the Old Street area. However you still need to call Didi and it costs you little. The last point is the hotel price was very inexpensive. It gives you a very good value for your money. So if you are looking for a good hotel to sleep with budget in mind, this is the one. There are restaurants near the hotel. I will book this hotel again if I am in the area. Thank you to the front desk staffs."

"Super location and very nice staff. We ordered an airport pickup to the hotel with the trip app and our driver contacted the hotel to let them know when we arrived so that a staff member could pick us up by the road. Super cozy streets around the hotel.
My room was very spacious and clean.
The breakfast was very good, noodles and dumplings. On our second day we asked the staff to recommend a driver to take us to different hot spots and we got a very nice driver at an affordable price. Will definitely stay here again."

"There aren't many five-star hotels in Huangshan city center, and I was torn between Crowne Plaza and Hyatt. Ultimately, I chose Crowne Plaza for its excellent location and better value for money. My decision proved to be correct. All the staff were incredibly enthusiastic and always willing to help. Although the room showed its age a bit, it was very well-maintained and clean. The breakfast was rich and varied; they even had mooncakes during my stay, along with some local specialties – a big thumbs up! 👍🏻 There's a bathtub and a swimming pool, and the pool was very clean. My daughter either swam or took a bath every day. A very thoughtful touch: the desk lamp even had a 'study mode' which was very bright. My child didn't have to strain her eyes doing homework under dim, yellowish light anymore! A big shout-out to the hotel for its thoughtfulness! 👍🏻"

"A hidden, ancient courtyard tucked away in Tunxi Old Street, featuring a stargazing loft where you can gaze at the starry sky and bright moon directly from your bed. On the Mid-Autumn Festival, I was able to lie in bed and watch the moon without stepping outside—it was truly dreamlike. The common areas are incredibly spacious; my child spent time practicing calligraphy and playing the guzheng, completely captivated. "We are very happy that our three people and two dogs chose the Hengjiang Bay Hyatt Hotel for our self-driving trip from Beijing to Huangshan Station. It is the most complete pet-friendly hotel under the hotel management group that we have stayed in so far. We have stayed in the Hilton Garden Inn and the Marriott Garden Inn. This time, the Hyatt is the most satisfactory.
The hotel room is fully equipped with facilities, and it is also equipped with a water bowl, food bowl, comfortable nest, urine pot diaper, foot cleaning detergent and towels for dogs.
The dancing orchid in the public area of the hotel is very beautiful, I like it.
The best thing about this hotel is the garden. The dogs are very happy to walk in the garden every day.
The hotel staff is warm and thoughtful. On the first day we arrived, they introduced us to the delicious restaurants around and the travel guide of Huangshan. It is a great resort hotel.
The hotel breakfast is good, with freshly squeezed juice. In addition, we also enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea in the hotel, which was delicious and beautiful."

We were a group of 8 people and had an unforgettable stay here. The hotel owner is one of the kindest and most helpful people we’ve ever met. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us warmly, gave us great local recommendations, and even personally drove us to each destination!
On the day we went hiking in the mountains, he provided us with free walking sticks. He helped us with everything — arranging transfers, buying entrance tickets, and planning the route. He also allowed us to check in early and check out late, which was incredibly convenient.
I shared room 8303 with my friend. The room is designed for two people and had two separate beds, both very comfortable to sleep in. There was also an air conditioner in the room, which made our stay even more pleasant.
Another thing we’re super grateful for — the owner kindly let us do laundry. After hiking in the mountains, our clothes definitely needed it!
The view from the window was absolutely stunning. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, full of natural light, and have plenty of power outlets. The showers were great, with clean water and convenient showerheads. There were all the necessary toiletries: body soap, shampoo — we recommend bringing your own conditioner if needed.
The hotel can also prepare food for guests. We really enjoyed the tomato and egg noodles — delicious and homey.
There’s also a local café nearby where we had breakfast a few times.
The hotel is located in the mountains, perfectly positioned for visiting nearby attractions, waterfalls, hiking spots, and even riding quad bikes.
A tip: bring a good quality raincoat if you’re visiting during rainy weather!
The owner speaks basic English, and even though it wasn’t easy for him, he patiently explained everything to us in English with so much kindness and care. He truly went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable — even helped us search for a lost phone in the mountains!

GGuest UserShuishongshi Shanfang Hotel is a unique hotel with a strong artistic flair. Our room offered stunning mountain views the moment we opened the door, and at night, we could hear the gentle murmur of the stream. The young lady at the front desk who assisted us was incredibly kind and helpful; she planned a perfect hiking route tailored to our fitness level, which really compensated for the hotel not being situated at the very peak. As we set off for our hike, she even thoughtfully provided us with hiking poles. The driver who handled our transfers was also superb, ensuring seamless connections from the hotel to the trailhead. On our second day, when they helped us transport our luggage out of the mountain area, the hotel thoughtfully prepared bottled water and a lovely farewell gift.

It’s a very short walk to the mountain entrance and the host was very helpful with giving advice for hiking routes, buying tickets, and recommending restaurants. GGuest UserMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

Unlike most hotels within the village, this hotel has conserved the architecture of the exterior and interior of the over 300 years old structure. It is well maintained with modern amenities and a nice manicured garden filled with bonsai plants. The Chinese breakfast was simple and nice. The menu has a good range of beverages and the food was good at reasonable prices.
The room we stayed was small but cozy. It is within the main building and just outside the room there is a reading lounge. It was quiet and hardly used while we were there.

I booked a long stay here as a retreat and break from the work and it is exactly everything I need to unwind and recharge.
The guesthouse ran by a husband and wife team are so hospitable and go the extra mile to make sure my stay here is relaxing and I have everything I need to work and go about my day.
The room i am staying in is very brightly lighted with a desk for me to work. I have to say the bed is also very comfortable and I have been sleeping well every night.
The surrounding is so peaceful and tranquil, with gardens and flowers and mountain peaks in the distance. I am rather glad I am staying here in the valley instead of near the centre.
In terms of service, the boss is very helpful and responsive to my messages when we need to ask any question or require a pick up after the hikes. The lady boss is similarly extremely friendly, warm and kind and ensure my needs and well being is looked after every day. She cared for me like her own family.
I really appreciate them going the extra mile to help a foreigner like me who struggle with the language.
I would strongly recommend this lovely and cosy guesthouse to any local and foreigner who is looking for an amazing visit to Huangshan for a few days or up to a month. They will ensure you are well taken care of and your stay is absolutely delightful.

MM271989****The location couldn't be better, right on the old street. It's super convenient for stepping out to shop, and the place itself boasts a unique Anhui charm with an authentic, antique feel. The creaking wooden floors add to the atmosphere, and you can open the window to a direct view of the old street below. The owner was incredibly warm and hospitable, offering us many helpful tips as first-time visitors, which saved us a lot of unnecessary wandering. This establishment left a wonderful impression, and I'll definitely be back if I visit again.

GGuest UserThe accommodation has a free shuttle to/from the station, definitely a plus! It's only a 10 minute walk, but 10 minutes with heavy luggage is something you could miss. It’s a bit inconvenient that you have to call them to actually book the shuttle, because I don’t speak Mandarin and they don’t speak English, so a call would not be possible, but maybe that’s something that Trip could improve on. When I checked out, the lady told me (through a translation app) that she could drop me off at the station, which I was very happy about.
When I checked in, I got a room upgrade as well. I was alone so I didn’t really need two beds, but the the huge room was very nice after all those bunk beds in hostels! They also offer a carpooling service to the ticket office/entrance of Huangshan for a good price! Just tell them the night before that you’d like to go to Huangshan and they will arrange a shuttle for you (mine was at 7 am in the morning and I just had to message them when I wanted to go back to the hotel in the evening).
They can offer sightseeing tips, they can recommend you something to eat. Just ask and they will help you. Sometimes it was just a bit hard to communicate, the woman uses a translation app which works just fine, but the man doesn’t, he tries to explain everything in Mandarin by using gestures, writing it down in Mandarin … but then it’s obviously not easy to understand each other. That aside, they’re both so sweet and helpful. I would stay there again, if I ever come back!
Side note, Trip does not give you the correct address of the hotel (in English). Whichever map app I used, it would send me to an open space in the street of the hotel. The hotel is actually located just a bit further next to a (very good!) restaurant, but just ask someone in the street and they will bring you to the reception of the hotel, if you can’t find it. 😉

The owner upgraded me to a moon-viewing room for free. The scenery was really great. I had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. I was very satisfied with the dinner order. Every dish was delicious. Eight dishes + a few bottles of beer and drinks cost about 60 to 70 yuan per person. I recommend everyone to come. Attached is a picture of the scenery seen from the floor-to-ceiling window in the morning.
