The hotel is located on the street behind Union Square, which is very convenient to reach in 5 minutes. The starting point of the tram is also there. The room is not big but very clean. If you need anything, just tell the front desk and they will basically solve it. I would like to remind you that there will be many homeless people on the street next to the hotel in the evening. Walk around it, and don't look at them even if you see them. It's still safe. Overall it's OK.

It's really far from the big spectrum. First of all, there are many additional fees here. Even if you prepaid on Trip.com, you need to pay the various miscellaneous fees they set up at the store, about $45-50 dollars per day. On the day of check-in, I found that I was inexplicably brushed with more than 1,200 US dollars + 500 pre-authorization. I didn't take it too seriously and thought it was a problem with Trip.com and the hotel settlement. Contact Trip.com to let them solve it. Solving for two days, the communication has been bad, Ctrip really experience 0 points, various customer service changes, one push, no one solves the problem. Said that the hotel gave the agent feedback without brushing more. I went to the front desk myself. The front desk promised to tell me that there was no money and I couldn't find it, but the bank told me that the money was not pre-authorized and the transaction was successful. I couldn't bear it, called out their manager, and then talked about the situation, and I told her not to go to my name or the consumption in my room, go to the exact number, and then see what happened. She and I pulled out all the hotel transaction records in the past few days. We sat at the front desk to check it out. It turned out that the employee who checked me in before just swiped my card for pre-authorization when I checked in. Then I counted the room rate of the previous customer who checked out on my head, and used my card to pay for the room rate for others... I was really stunned, I have never heard of a hotel like this. And there are a lot of messy fees, and you have to pay a lot more every day. It is not the cost of booking a room at all. In short, it will not be booked again. Everyone really avoids the pit.

Stayed here after a bad experience at a hotel down the street. Luckily found a good rate and was pleasantly surprised to be able to check in upon our arrival around 10am. Super helpful front of house staff. The room was huge for a standard room and the bathroom had great facilities. Bed was large and very comfortable, and really appreciated the walk in closet as well as fridge in the room. Location wise you are super central, with a lot of amenities like Starbucks and Walgreens just across the street. Maybe more of a SF issue than the hotel, but did feel a little uncomfortable being out in the area in the evening due to the large numbers of homeless on the streets - we saw on a few occasions people harassing guests coming in and out of the hotel, but was handled well by the reception staff. Main reasons for one star being knocked off was firstly the AC in the room. While the window was openable, it was quite unnerving to have it open on the 10th floor. We hoped the AC would compensate for this, however it would not go below a pre-set temperature level when we could’ve appreciated some cold air coming in. We did ask the front desk twice about this and they said they’d send up maintenance to manually change the limiter but unfortunately this never happened. The reception area also can become incredibly loud in the evenings with the bar having live music - there were times I could not hear the staff talking to me due to the volume. It also took a considerable amount of time to check in, at least a 10+ minutes process which began to be irritating if we had something to ask but had to wait behind large groups to check in. We also did not get bathroom amenities restocked on three occasions. These may seem like trivial issues, but for the price point of the hotel these should not be issues in the first place. Otherwise however we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend.

Was here for holiday, chose this location as heard it is one of the safer areas. It was too bad, just that opposite the park there are quite of bit of homeless people sleeping. Location was alright, was accessible to Fisherman wharf, Golden Gate (took Lyft all the way). Around $10 to $25 per trip. Service was quite good, the staff was friendly and helpful. Even the cleaning staff was cheerful and greeted everyone. However for the room, it was not the best, not what i would expect of Hilton having frequent the brand in other countries. Unlucky as got one of the un-renovated rooms. Room was outdated. The shower is a one way, so you can't control the flow of the water. There isn't even a sink stopper to fill the tub. Overall because of the room, wasn't the best for me.

The St. Regis San Francisco can be said to be the ceiling level of local hotels, and it is also one of the top hotels I have stayed in in the United States. It is in an excellent location. SFMoMA is next door to the hotel, and it is basically only a 5-7 minute walk from the Union Square shopping street. The overall size of the hotel is not large, but the services, hardware, and facilities are very exquisite and delicate. Although the quality is far from the St. Regis Hotel in China, it cannot be judged by domestic standards in the United States. It is highly recommended!

One of the best run hotels in the City. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The staff is incredibly well trained. From the moment you get out of your Uber at the front door to the front desk staff they all make you feel so welcome and helpful. Kyle and his fellow concierge all made great suggestions during our stay. The room amenities are wonderful. Great soaps and towels and robes all very luxurious. The location is so central we walked everywhere. Close to museums and Ferry Building and Chinatown. We wouldn't stay anywhere else!

I want to share my recent experience at this hotel, which I regretfully cannot recommend. The hotel has an attractive location but is marred by a lack of basic amenities and poor customer service. During our six-night stay, we discovered on the second morning that there was no hot water. We informed the receptionist, Andy, but were met with a dismissive and rude attitude. We were informed that there would be no hot water for the rest of the day, and this lack of basic amenities was for a total of three days of the six days of our stay. Please note that according to California Civil Code §1940.2, it is the responsibility of the hotel to provide and maintain hot and cold running water for guests. To make matters worse, when we requested to check out early due to this issue, we were offered no refunds as our stay was prepaid on expedia. Expedia told us that the property was to decide while the property said it was expedia.. As I am a hotelier myself, I know it is the hotel’s call in the end. We were offered a shower facility in a separate building which was very inconvenient as we had to walk out of our building and take elevators to get there.. This was not a suitable alternative to the basic amenity that we had paid for. To add insult to injury, at time of check out, Andy offered us only $80 as a refund on a reservation worth over $1500, what a humiliating act, we could not believe it! Better not to offer anything, because really it is a shame to offer this to people.. We were one of the many customers to complain, and we saw that the receptionists had no sympathy towards anyone.. Yes, all businesses are there to make money, but not like this. What they did is close to stealing from someone! I cannot recommend this hotel to other travelers, and I will continue to write on other platforms to warn people..

We stayed here for three nights while visiting San Francisco. We booked a suite on the 15th floor while our adult daughters stayed in an adjoining double room. The hotel, although old, is exceptionally well maintained. This is not just any hotel but a landmark building with beautiful architecture that has withstood the test of time. I cannot say enough for the staff who are definitely part of the experience. So much so that you are likely to get to know them on a first name basis. Sal and Tony were just two who really excel in their service to guests. The location is exceptional. Its high location provides excellent views of SF. The rooms were beautiful and hats off to housekeeping. Need i say more? This is a hotel run by an exceptionally good and friendly team. Thanks for making our stay so special.

NNancy XIt's a hotel with some proud history. They've arranged a corridor to introduce their past and the hotel is elegantly decorated. There's some sort of package that I've paid for at trip.com. that I didn't really know about and they've given me 20 dollar allowance to use for the hotel food because of this. The room is clean, and basically you could use the lift by yourself because it requires you to enter your floor number before you get in the specific lift. The hotel is right in front of the union square so you're accesible to many stuff. I've talked to some guests at the breakfast place and some of them have come here many times. I think I would come again some time, if SF city has less homeless and become cleaner, like it used to be.

YYONGAnother disappointing experience. The booking price was more than 4,000 and one night. I thought it was better than Liz. The result was that I found a Samsung hotel and the front desk offered two thousand. Two big and one small gave two single bed rooms, the front desk means to act according to the order. She has no responsibility. The room we booked is wrong. The problem is that Ctrip can answer that I have paid such a high price. I can't get the corresponding service because I chose the wrong one? At checkout, there was an additional $30 in facility fees per day, but the Ritz Hotel did not. According to Ctrip's regulations, this fee is paid separately by me. Ctrip defines the rules as perfect for themselves, without any problems. I just want to remind you that it is very simple for me. I paid a high premium. My expectation is to get better service. I can live comfortably in two big and small, I will not spend too much time researching. How big is the bed, and there is an extra cost to pay. Where can I provide a satisfactory reservation service, I am going to book it, but Ctrip is obviously not. Thank you, goodbye Ctrip.

GGuest UserAmenities are really lacking - the room lacked basic items, including no free water in the room, no slippers, only one dressing gown (despite being booked for two people). Temperature controls were inconsistent. The lighting was either on or off - no way to turn off just a few. Service was predominately pretty poor - staff were grumpy and aloof from our arrival onwards. But Sammie was fantastic - when we encountered an issue with the heating in our original room she was super accommodating and friendly. Redeeming qualities - the room was really clean, housekeeping were great, the view from the roof was great, and the location was walking distance from so many places (MOMA, Union Square, Oracle Stadium, Chase Stadium, Pier 33 for Alcatraz, ferry building etc) as well as good food options.

GGuest UserStayed here for 2 nights and was pleasantly surprised. Prices are quite affordable considering it's in San Francisco. The location was great. I booked this hotel in particular primarily because of its rather close proximity to the BART station. It is indeed only a 10-minute walk from Montgomery station, although if you're arriving from the airport be prepared to drag your bags uphill. The hotel is smack dab in the middle of Chinatown in a rather busy area. I never felt unsafe here, whether evening or early morning, as there are always people milling about minding their own business. If you like walking, you can journey to Fisherman's Wharf within 30 minutes on foot, which is what I did. You can also walk in the opposite direction toward Westfield and Target if you like to shop. There are several bus stops and tram lines nearby. As for the room, it was small but didn't feel cramped. There's no air-conditioning but it was rather chilly in July so I had no issues with heat. No problems with the shower either. Checking in and out were a breeze. I was even able to order food through GrubHub (because most restaurants in that area close at 8 pm even on weekends, which I found out the hard way!) I suppose my only complaint would be that you can definitely hear your neighbors at all times. I could hear someone stomping on the floor above, and sometimes I'd get noise from the rooms adjacent to mine. I was able to sleep just fine, though, as the bed was really comfortable. I'd changed my hotel to this one at the last minute and I'm glad I did. Apart from the occasional noise, I had a lovely stay.

WWendyQZBThe room is clean and of moderate size. The hotel provides reusable silicone travel cups and drinking water, which can be used at any time, which is environmentally friendly and convenient. The food in the restaurant is not expensive, the sundaes are delicious, and the coffee is good. The best thing is the location of the hotel. Fisherman's Wharf is right outside, in n out is a five-minute walk, and Dangdang Bus Terminal is a five-minute walk away. It's great.

We took the Bart from the airport and enjoyed an easy walk to the Hotel. Early check-in was not available when we requested it, 3 days prior to arrival; however, the friendly front desk staff graciously stored it until check-in time. We liked the clean, modern room, great shower water pressure and Cowshed products. Coffee was available; however, tea would have been a nice addition. Sadly, the issue was the location. Although centrally located, there were three transient hotels located directly across from the hotel and the residents hung out day and night. We saw a woman relieve herself on the sidewalk as we boarded an Uber to dinner. Although the Hotel was chic, had a clean, well-appointed room, fun rooftop lounge and friendly staff, we would have to think twice about returning.

GGuest UserI used to be a frequent guest at the W SF back when it was Starwood but had not visited since Marriott took over the W Brand. I did try and stay last year but before arriving I read that the restaurant was closed and I asked the hotel what they were doing as an alternative, but they had absolutely nothing for Platinum Breakfast (other than 1k points per stay which is a HUGE downgrade), so I opted for another hotel. I had high expectations for this stay as I had previously loved this hotel, but as a frequent traveler in Marriott brands and having one of their Highest Elite traveler statuses (and staying at W Brands lately), I knew service levels were still suffering post pandemic. Unfortunately, it started low right from the beginning. I had confirmed a Studio Suite in advance. When I arrived, I was given a corner room that almost seemed smaller than standard rooms (Room 2109). I inquired about upgrades to larger rooms, and I was told no, because it was a busy weekend, and nothing would be available. I checked on the app and saw that every room type was available for the length of my stay and beyond. I was basically DOWNGRADED. Once settling into the room, then I realized the major issues. Smaller rooms should be easier to clean, right? Well, this one not only had carpet stains, but I quickly found out that the ”Marriott Commitment to Clean” was actually a Commitment to Ignore. Not only were their stains on the carpet and dust and dirt in the windowsills, I found a previous guest's room keys sitting on the counter. Obviously, the room was just ”re-set” and not inspected or cleaned at all. I guess the promised sanitizing was out of the question. We then went to get some ice and noticed that the ice bucket was half filled with standing water. It was disgusting! Thats not the worst part, I then found a pair of women's ”play-style” lingerie slightly soiled sitting on the floor by the sofa. I mentioned the cleanliness issues to the Front Desk, but the representative simply stared at me and then asked if there was anything else I needed? I should have been a bit more insistent that they take it down, but I was so shocked I did not. The room setup, although smaller than what I wanted and pre-confirmed, was also not great. There is no storage at all other than the closet. There are no drawers at all or other places to keep clothes or anything else. If you have two suitcases, you are going to have to keep them out as there is no place to put them in the closet. Other than the Front Desk and Room Condition, we had a nice stay, although the Room is really what we paid for. The rest of the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff were great, and the food was amazing! Kudos for them for sure! Actually, the only place I was every recognized or thanked for being a Marriott Elite was from the hostess at Breakfast. The bellhop was also quite nice and helpful when we checked-out and needed to store lugga

GGuest UserI had a fantastic time at this hotel. I booked a fairmont exterior king room with a view. The room itself was nice but what I really liked was the walk in wardrobe and luxurious marble bathroom with his and hers sinks. Breakfast at the hotel and dinner in the Tonga room was also really good. Customer Service was top dollar. The only criticisms I would have are that:- 1) There was only one functioning lift from the main foyer to hotel rooms, 2) upon checking in a hold fee of $100 per night is placed on your debit/ credit card (only returnable 5-7 days after departure) and 3) some of the meals were overpriced, I was charged approx $55 for a medium sized pizza and bottle of water on one night. Overall, enjoyed my stay and would return.

Very Good
GGuest UserArrived from uk 25Dec for 3 nights with our teenage daughter Room was a very good size and comfortable but without a view . However a roof terrace o. 16th floor to see the city from .Breakfast area was spacious and adequate for what you would expect in North America. The only thing that let it down is the area .but its also a good point 3 min walk to Westfield shopping and the tram to fishermans wharf . 5 min walk to union square .As other reviews say a large homeless population in this area we never felt unsafe walking to / from. The hotel but were aware and alert whist walking .saying that we walked all the way to the amtrak bus stop on mission st with our cases no problem at all after check out . So somebody who is visiting this area who hasn't seen a downtown are of a US city may be a little uneasy . Its a sad part of life and outside the control of the hotel so all in all a good stay
