Beautiful house, cleanliness clearly has room for improvement. Door lock stuck massively. During our stay were craftsmen working in the house without a caretaker or us. Address in the (A.I.?) Mails permanently wrong.

On the plus side, the accommodation was clean, comfortable, very well equipped, and in a scenic location. On the downside, some of the windows were jammed open, and could not be closed during our holiday, the weather was cool and frequently wet and windy.

YYouqudedabaobaoThe room was very comfortable, there was a view outside the window, and the ventilation was very good. The breakfast buffet is very rich! The location of the hotel is very beautiful, there is a small flower-filled s-line road outside the door, and the photo is really first class. Although the price is a bit expensive, it is also worth the money.

Rrockylee1. This hotel is actually a homestay. You can check in by yourself. On the day of check-in, you will see a letter with your name at the door, and there is a key inside. The location is very good, just on the slopes of Portree overlooking the whole port. Parking is on the side of the road opposite the B&B. There are 7 parking spaces, but they are first come, first served, and there are usually spaces available.
2. There are many restaurants nearby, but if it is a holiday or weekend, many restaurants need to be booked in advance. A little farther away, there is a Chinese restaurant Panda that specializes in take away, which is actually quite affordable. The Chinese restaurant next to the homestay is average.
3. For sky island tourism, if you only live in one place, Portree is the best place.

I really hate to write a bad review, but there was just so little to like about our stay at the Isle of Skye Guest House. I chalk this up to me being a cheapskate and not understanding the Skye market, so DO YOUR RESEARCH. However, I will note that I saw quite a few similar facilities as we drove around the island -- a lot of tired looking inns that probably cost a pretty penny and were proudly displaying ”no vacancy” signs in early September. I started my search for lodging about 10 months in advance of our trip and quickly discovered that many options were already full, cost more than I wanted to pay, or both. So I ended up booking the Isle of Skye Guest House and there you have it. Read the other reviews -- they're all true. Our room was really small, had no storage space, and provided one of the worst beds I've slept on as an adult: the mattress was mushy, sagging, and thoroughly uncomfortable. The walls were thin, the windows old and single pane, and the bathroom so small you had to close the door before you could turn around. Worst of all, the shower flooded and we had to use all our towels to sop up the water. And, as others have noted: there's no staff on site. If I ever find myself staying on Skye again, it won't be here. It's not that it was terrible or unsafe or not clean -- it's just that it wasn't at all what I wanted or expected for the money spent. So spend more -- it'll be worth it!
