Scandic Hotels in Helsinki

We had a great few nights stay at Scandic Grand Central. The check-in process was smooth- The hotel even provided an online check-in option that would also notify us when our room is ready so that we can check in earlier. The room was a little smaller than we imagined but nevertheless well-equipped. The breakfast buffet is a MUST- There's a wide variety of food and they are all scrumptious. The staff was warm and accommodating- Big thumbs up to the cleaning staff who greeted us everyday without fail with the biggest smile on their faces. The location is also fantastic-Its very central so all the tourist attractions and transport is within walking distance.

Location was really nice! I could go center city station from this hotel within 5 minutes. And then the big supermarket was located next to this hotel and that’s so convenient. But the iron was dirty and the clothes got dirty after ironing.

The hotel is in a strategic location within the city, featuring two gender-separated saunas and a truly generous breakfast. Check-in is at 4 PM, which felt a little late, but there's a locked luggage storage service available. The reception team managing it was very efficient, helpful with queries and requests, and friendly. The room has plenty of power outlets and is spacious, offering excellent value for money, especially considering the area.

The hotel is a bit dated but was spotlessly clean. It's conveniently located about a 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal. Nearby attractions such as Senate Square, the Synagogue, and the historic market are all within a 10-15 minute stroll. Our room had a comfortable bed, and we appreciated the complimentary sauna. The breakfast was outstanding – very generous and delicious, highly recommended. A minor point for improvement was the check-in process: Upon arriving around 11:30 AM, we were informed that our room was ready, but only if we paid an extra €20 for early check-in. Otherwise, it would be available at 1 PM as part of our standard booking. Also, in July, the air conditioning in our attic room struggled to keep the room cool.

It was tired for the long train to Helsinki , and the weather is super cold that night. We needed some hot water and we requested kettle from the reception. We were very surprised and felt warm when received kettle with hot chocolate. Perfect customer service. Thank you 🫰

The free buffet breakfast is a great perk, and the ambiance is lovely! Definitely recommend. It offers excellent value for money, and luggage storage is available, which is really convenient. Check-in was super easy – just needed my passport number. Plus, its central Helsinki location means getting around is a breeze.

The breakfast is amazing and the staff are very friendly. The location is perfect for exploring Helsinki. The room was nice. Room for improvement: we asked to have the room cleaned one day and the cleaner came, but they did a pretty sloppy job. Several of our items had been tossed on the floor or under or behind the bed when they made the beds. And they did not take out the bathroom trash or clean the bathroom at all.

Nice hotel and great breakfast BUT I was staying there as my mum was in hospital with an undetermined leave date, so had to book again when she was not allowed to leave. Even though I booked again the same day I checked out, they would not let me into the room until 1pm (unless I paid an early fee) despite the person behind the desk knowing my situation. So for me poor customer experience and not an understanding company considering how many customers must be there for same reason.

房間很大，有簡單的廚房可以自己買點東西做着吃，方便不想在外面吃的遊客。要是痛風環境在好些就完美了。

The room environment is clean and tidy, the hotel is strategically located, the transportation is convenient, it is very suitable for business travel and living, the overall feeling is very satisfactory, and I will choose if I have the opportunity in the future.
