Room is okay. No free water inside room. Garden is beautiful but abit expensive as well. Location is okay

Excellent

This hotel is conveniently located. It is a traditional Japanese hotel with a lot of facilities. It is very beautiful, particularly the garden which is big and serene. The hot spring having both indoor and outdoor pools is impressive. The dining experience is fantastic because the setting is cosy and the food is extremely delicious. The mattresses, neither too soft, nor too hard, are very comfortable.

It's a cozy and quiet ryokan-style hotel with beautiful garden and onsen, close to the train station. Room is a little bit outdate, but most of the amenities presented. Free drinks available. A little disappoint, that they don't change men and women onsens each day to try them both :/

Hotel experience was mixed. Positive: the hotel site has a lot of history, the Japanese garden was beautiful and the best part of the hotel. The included meals were good but not spectacular - yet the setting with a view of the Japanese garden was beautiful Negative: the facility was dated with little catch up updares. Only one lock key can be provided n made my wife n my visit to the Onsen very inconvenient as we had to wait for each other all times. The outdoor access for men Onsen had to go thru a common area for men n women so need to re-clothe to get thru, not great. Facility for the Onsen bath were dated n worn out. The in room lighting was dim n equipment facility visibly outdated. The worst was I discovered a big size cockcroach in the bathroom when I got back from Onsen bath in the morning. Smashed it n picture enclosed. We had high expectations coming in to the hotels with strong recommendations by Japanese friends. Was quite underwhelmed. I had stayed at other well rated Ryokans before n most have met or exceeded my expectation. This one fell far short of it.

The location is great. The dinner is awesome with fresh seasonal ingredients, strongly recommended. The front desk service is a bit slow but very friendly. I love the beautiful garden as well. Good choice.

Nice stay . We booked traditional Japanese room, and slept on futon beds. Pillows were uncomfortable though . Our room fee included dinner and breakfast which was very nice. Dinner was tad too cold for our taste ( too many cold dishes) and breakfast was too “fishy”. Although all food was fresh and the service was impeccable. Hotel also has its own onsen , and pretty Japanese garden .

We stayed in this Ryokan a few years ago and am looking forward to having a great time here again. We stayed for 2 nights and chose the half board package, which included breakfast and dinner. First of all, the location is excellent, very near to the station on foot. The Japanese garden is nice but the room now is a bit old and dusty. For breakfast and dinner, the amount is good, but the quality of food is downgraded, comparing what we had before a few years ago. Probably it is because of the inflation???

The hot spring water is great with great view. Best Japanese and historic garden and large i have been. Warmly service. Near bus and train station. Great location

One of the best Ryokan in Hakone!

Generally, the staff members are friendly. I appreciated the meals and waitresses. The room was nice and clean. I don’t recommend to use the massage services and it seemed a scam. Body massage was quite not professional and disappointing. The lady seems doesn’t know what she was doing. We ordered one head and shoulder massage for 40 minutes but she never touched head and shoulders. Another one is 60 minutes for whole body . The most of the time was doing the back and shoulder until I requested to massage my legs. We gave the feedbacks to the front desk lady and the lady said it supposed a light massage.

To celebrate my in-laws' wedding anniversary, the four of us came to Hakone Yoshiike Ryokan. My in-laws were very satisfied with the garden and the traditional Japanese banquet served in the evening and morning, and my mother-in-law loved the open-air bath and the scent of cypress in the Japanese tatami room. When I came with my parents before, they were very satisfied, and as a filial piety trip, I was very satisfied with Yoshiike Ryokan.
