Hotel&Spa Century Marina Hakodate

We stayed at Century Marina for our first night in Hokkaido and originally chose it for its proximity to most of the sites we wanted to see in Hakodate. It's just a few minute walk from the train station with plenty of sidewalks so pulling our suitcases was no issue. The hotel also has a large parking lot if you choose to drive. It's also just a few minute walk from the warehouse district and the older area up the hill where a lot of historical embassies and churches are. The hotel's breakfast buffet is an experience itself with an extensive spread of both Japanese and Western food options. You will reserve a time slot when checking in, but even then you should expect a 10-20 minute wait in the morning to get your table, so its best to go up before your reserved time. This hotel also has one of the best rooftop onsen I've seen, with wonderful views of the whole marina and hill. When booking I didn't realize there was a hot springs so this was a nice surprise. Our room was right next to the elevator but very quiet and clean. This is a newer hotel too so everything felt very fresh and well-maintained. We checked in using Japanese, but the hotel has check-in info packets and signs in English so this is a good option for non-Japanese speaking guests as well.

This hotel is located at the Yunokawa area in Hakodate. It's reachable within 20 minutes from Hakodate bus terminal. There are three buses serving this area: 95, 95A and 96. There is also a direct bus from/to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto station with a fee of ¥900/person/way. We booked a Japanese-style room with a private onsen bath facing the ocean. The view is beyond our expectation. The room is super spacious - consisting of the entrance area, sleeping area, living room, a toilet, and bath area. They are still using the actual key instead of keycards. They served some snacks, tea, free beers, bottled water and cold tea. The room we booked also provided halfboard (dinner and breakfast). The food was amazing with many varieties, including our favourites - king crabs. All was served in a buffet style so you can eat this crab as much as you want.

Hotel located at the transportation hub where Jr train and bus station and tram line was just across the road. Good size of room and bathroom for Japanese standard. I enjoyed the sunset with good view. Public bath was clean and good. Breakfast has good varieties. Only feedback is internet is slightly slow.Overall I enjoyed my stay.

I stay in Hakodate every August . Go To Travel Campaign, so I tried to use it . The room is a junior suite twin of 55 m2 . as shown in the photo, It's a relaxing room . The audio equipment was also stiff . check in early, spend a leisurely time in the room until dinner without going sightseeing . There is also a SPA in the building, This time I endured the bath in the room. There is also a washroom on an independent bus.The shower is also strong enough, the window is also a size full of open feeling.Bright bathroom was completely refreshed.Ta Or was also fuzzy.welcome sweets will bring you to your room.there is also a coffee set, so you can taste the cafe feeling in your room.but, to eat dinner delicious, It is recommended to eat early. In addition, since the simple kitchen room is independent, it is also possible to put it in the refrigerator. The best fun is dinner. At the restaurant on the top floor (6th floor), I got a French course.I concentrated on the dishes so I don't have a picture.Unlike the odd dishes like molecular dishes, it is based on . Orthodox French . But the appearance is beautiful Beautiful, a little spice use is new, all really delicious.it is more friendly than sophisticated service, and it is not forced to feel tense.this is the hotel If you can eat, I can't think of eating outside . breakfast was delicious . It is a hotel that I want to go again to eat at the restaurant . It was even better when the iPhone was connected to the audio device Su .

It has been almost 3 years that we have not visited Japan. Once Japan opened tourism, we packed our bags. We decided this trip will be a trip to enjoy some onsen (hot springs bath) and to see some fall foliage in colors. We picked Hakodate for onsen. This hotel offers in room open air bath tub on the balcony with a 180 degree ocean view!! Our activities were focused on taking onsen and having great food at the hotel buffet restaurant. After a great onsen bath, we wore the clothing they provided to us to the restaurant, very layback and relaxing!! There were many families, old and very young at the hotel over the weekend. So we think families take short vacations here. Strongly recommend to add Hakodate and this hotel to be part of your tour in Japan !
