The room is small, but the space is well organized. It has a desk, a kettle, and a fridge. The furniture is new and comfortable. The air conditioning is powerful and not too noisy. Unfortunately, there's no window, but that was clear when booking and reflected in the price. What's much worse is the massive construction going on right next to the hotel. The road is completely blocked, so you have to take a big detour to get to the hotel from the train station. Because of this, I gave a one-star rating for the location.

The location is pretty good, with many cafes nearby. It's just a few minutes' walk to the very center of town. There's also a shuttle bus to Cat Ba Island not far from downstairs, so it's convenient to just walk over and catch it.

The room was clean and had everything you needed. The staff was friendly and eager to help. The hotel and room design is a bit unique, reminiscent of '90s chic, but that's not a big deal. The location is a bit off the main streets, but the area itself is fine. I was happy with everything.

What truly elevated the experience, though, was the staff. They were incredibly attentive, friendly, and quick to assist with any request, whether it was extra towels or local dining recommendations. The front desk team greeted me with genuine warmth, and housekeeping went above and beyond to ensure comfort. Even the maintenance crew was prompt and discreet, keeping everything in top shape without disrupting guests. The breakfast buffet was fresh and varied, adding to the overall delightful stay. This hotel clearly prioritizes guest satisfaction, and it shows in every aspect. I felt pampered and relaxed throughout my visit, and I’m already looking forward to my next stay. Highly recommend this gem to anyone seeking a flawless hotel experience!

The biggest plus is that it's clean and smells nice. It's quiet and private (because there's no reception or anyone watching). The price is reasonable. The downsides: The water wasn't hot enough for a shower in the evening. Also, if you rent a car or check out and want to store your luggage, it has to be left outside, which doesn't feel very secure, though the security seems to be okay.

I was surprised at how good this hotel was as it was quite cheap but had everything I could want, even an induction hotplate and a pan to cook in. The location was perfect, in a quiet lane near everywhere I wanted to go, near a park and lake, round the corner from the opera house, and within easy walking distance from the station. Next door is a terrific crab soup restaurant. I loved Haiphong and enjoyed staying in the Eastern hotel.

Overall, if there are any issues encountered, the hotel manager will respond quickly and take appropriate action. For example, when I mentioned that the WiFi signal was weak and unstable during check-in, the hotel manager arranged for a room change. Upon inquiry, I discovered that the room allocation and distance would affect WiFi reception. The hotel staff then suggested that for future stays, I could make a note requesting a room with better WiFi reception. This stay from October 3rd to October 9th was also quite good. Unfortunately, my wife and I only learned about the hotel's structural issues on October 7th, and since my wife had too much luggage, we didn't want to change rooms again. We will be staying again soon in the future.

Place was superficially clean but still had quite a bit of mold around the shower. Not sure why it’s so hard to take a little bleach and make sure it’s at least visibly clean. Not really a problem for a guy but my partner did not appreciate it very much. I probably will be looking for different accommodations if I need them again.

I also appreciated how quick and smooth the check-in process was. The breakfast was good too. The only downside was that the soundproofing could be improved, as I could occasionally hear noise from outside or nearby elevator. Overall, it was still a pleasant stay and good value for the price.
