Great
HHaspelGood location with a nice, private road in the middle for big trucks to park in. A little confusing finding the main entry in the freezing cold, but overall a great place to stay. Beds could be a little more comfortable.
JJackThe facilities are well maintained, the operator is very attentive, the room is clean, and the breakfast is good. It is convenient to drive to the city and take the expressway. There is an American barbecue restaurant next door that gives guests a 10% discount, and it is also convenient for other meals.
GGuest UserSpent just one night on my visit to the State Capitol. Friendly staff at check in and room was clean. Loved having lots of pillows on the bed. Shower water pressure was just okay, but shampoo and conditioner were nice. Convenient automated online check out option. Convenient parking structure for additional charge. Did not try any food there.
MMacDougallA couple decades ago I used to like La Quinta chain quite a bit, but apparently a couple of bad experiences soured me. This was the first time I stayed in this chain since and I was surprisingly pleased.
The front desk girl seemed crazy but friendly. Nothing smelled weird anywhere and my room was large and comfortable. I have no complaints (outside of the elevator, being slower than stairs), especially at this price point. Don’t pay extra for the breakfast unless you want Froot Loops and bagels.
Seems pretty close to I-55 and there was a massive but understocked Walmart across a parking lot.
GGuest UserFast quality, star price, behind the gas station, next to the high speed, several nearby motels, about 600 prices, do not like to live here, very disappointed.
GGuest UserThis hotel seemed a good value but we had a major issue. After several tries, even the staff could not get the key card to work. Another room was provided but unfortunately, we could not access medication, feminine hygiene products, toiletries, food/water. I deducted points from the service score as we were left without updates as to when maintenance would assist us. Trip customer service reported that nobody would answer the phone when they tried to assist us. It was not until I inquired that were were informed were would be locked out until the next morning. As a result, I had to go out and purchase necessities. Despite the cost and inconvenience all Trip.com offered was $5 in coins, which is unacceptable. The hotel said they would refund to our card but since we booked Trip the couldn't do anything.
That said, the staff was courteous and professional, one staff member even loaned us a phone charge cable which was appreciated.
The room itself was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and this was the best part of the stay.
Breakfast: I don't recommend the breakfast. The offerings were very similar to other hotels but preparation seems to be the weak link. For example, the sausage appeared to have just thawed and was colder than room temp. The eggs were watery with brown chunks in them, perhaps from scorching the bottom.
TLDR: Our needs were minimal and without our difficulties with the key cards and breakfast this would have been a good value. It's concerning that a hotel doesn't have a way to access a room in an emergency scenario.
