Oslo Hotels with Gym

A beautiful room but experienced a number of disappointments. Hotel guests must pay a supplement daily charge to use the swimming pools AND book at designated time slot. I have NEVER experienced this at any hotel anywhere in the world. I was in a premium room, but this policy applies to all guests, which I think is awful. It was also impossible to get a spa appointment during my stay. Zero preference given to hotel guests. I strongly suggest you book spa treatments at least a week in advance of your arrival. Also, there is no turndown service, unusual for a highly priced 5* hotel. Housekeeping also finishes very early, or isn’t interested in guests who don’t align with their schedule. I had to work in my room but left at 2:45pm and it was not cleaned despite signalling the room needed making up. The reception team were polite, but chaotic. Generally, the hotel restaurants seem more focused on catering to outside guests, which is a shame.

Great hotel with good transport links (I think you have the metro, tram and bus all within 10 min walk) but it is worth mentioning that this is slightly out of the centre so it takes about 30 minutes to get in. For business travellers with offices around I guess that dosent matter but for tourists it might be slightly time consuming although the Ruter zone 1 transport pass does cover this so more on time rather than cost for transport here. Breakfast was splendid and I really enjoyed the spread and quality which I think is even better than other 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in Oslo and other parts of EU. Staff in breakfast was great, although reception staff was not the friendliest per se - professional though just not as friendly. I put a DND on my room door twice but both times housekeeping still came to clean my room so I’m not really sure if the signs mean anything. Amenities though was horrendous - nothing except poor quality towels and soap which were a let down. Overall good hotel but definitely more things could be done to achieve the maximum potential.

Located next to Oslo Central Station, Amerikalinjen is in the city center and is in a very convenient location for sightseeing and work. The city hall, the venue for the Nobel Peace Prize dinner, is less than a 15-minute walk away. Please come and visit us. It is also a historic hotel with a very well-served history. It's great just to see the decoration and interior in the hall and indoors. The food in the restaurant is also great, and the hotel water is as safe and delicious as it is sold worldwide. The day of check-out was early in the morning, but the hotel staff prepared salmon bagel sandwiches, fruits and drinks in a box. It was a nice stay. It is a hotel that I would like to stay again when I visit Norway again.

The hotel is very close to the central train station. In fact, you can cross the bridge (covered) to the nearby mall, exit on the 1st floor, cross the road and enter the hotel. The hotel's surroundings are dirty and less pleasant, both because of renovations and construction in the area and from a human perspective. A short walk (5 minutes) brings us to the main street, or to the central square, or to the opera house) The hotel itself, like the other chain hotels, is commendable. Free coffee/tea, water/soda in the lobby and sometimes also fruit and small pastries. We were given a spacious room on the fourth floor with large windows that can be opened. This is important when it's hot, but the windows face an internal courtyard so there is no view and no good air exchange. The room was ventilated, but there was no air conditioning. The bed was comfortable. A large and pleasant shower room with a wide shower that you don't have to crowd into. Two sinks and a large window. A seating area with two armchairs and a standing lamp (without the bulb itself...) The room was maintained to a reasonable but not excellent standard. (Lack of bulb, stains on the chair upholstery, clogged shower head that we asked to replace and it was replaced quickly). A very good, varied and wonderful breakfast like in the entire chain. We would return to this hotel if we had heavy luggage and came to stay overnight but not for a vacation.

The location is excellent, directly connected to the train station. However, sometimes the mall doors are closed, and if you don't have a room key, you can't get in. You have to walk around the mall to find an entrance, though it might just be because we're unfamiliar with the area. There's a large supermarket right in the train station, making travel, shopping, and dining very convenient. Since we arrived before check-in time, we could only store our luggage. The luggage room is small and unsupervised. The room itself is not very spacious; opening two large suitcases made it feel crowded. My travel companion disliked the mirror facing the bed, but thankfully it could be rotated. The overall lighting was a bit dim, and the bathroom wasn't huge, but at least the shower had a door. Breakfast is served at a partner restaurant across the street, and the variety is quite good: bread, cakes, biscuits, cold cuts, meatballs, and drinks. The cured salmon was a bit too salty, but overall it was decent.

This was the best hotel I stayed at during my recent 20-day trip. It’s perfectly located with stunning views of the city and right next to Oslo Winter Park, making it an ideal choice for skiers like me. Although it takes about 30 minutes by train to reach the city center, you may find it hard to leave the hotel because of its beautiful scenery. The hotel is clean and comfortable, and I particularly enjoyed the complimentary coffee, hot tea, and apples available in the common areas. The staff were friendly; we had a lovely chat with one of them for almost half an hour. The breakfast included was quite good as well. The only downside was that the room, especially the shower, was a bit small, but it was perfectly acceptable for the price. I would definitely consider visiting again.

I had a positive experience at Scandic Oslo hotel. The hotel is Situated in an excellent location close to the main landmarks of the city, close to public transportation, restaurants and shops. The room and common areas were decent and tidy. My room 302 was small but clean. All the room are well equipped with toiletries such as soap, shampoo and conditioner. Also hair dryer, lock and towels are available. There are no water bottles provided. Definitely I would recommend this hotel.

Took me a while to get used to having no reception or staff around, but the hotel was amazing. Brilliant location close to the main train station with easy links to the airport and tram stop very close. Most main attractions are walkable in about 20 minutes. Loads of options for food, shopping, cafes and bars around. I loved the options of borrowing tote bags and cameras to go around the city, and the reusable water bottles were really handy (plus the tap water is the best water I’ve ever tasted!) Staff were easy to get in contact with and very friendly. The bed was really comfy and I slept very well every night. I do wish the room was a little darker at night as the curtains let quite a bit of light in, but on the whole it was a brilliant stay and I’d definitely recommend it.

Very convenient hotel right in the center of Oslo! Customer service was good and the hotel was clean and up to standard, as expected across the Scandic chains in the nordics

Service & Check-in: The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Check-in was absolutely smooth, fast, and welcoming. Room: Very functional and noticeably small. The biggest drawback: There is hardly any storage space or closets to store luggage and personal belongings efficiently. Breakfast: The offerings are solid in terms of taste and selection (okay), but the room was extremely crowded, loud, and bustling. For a short stay with minimal luggage, thanks to the great team, it's absolutely doable, but one should temper expectations regarding comfort and quietness in the breakfast area.
