Very close to the US Consulate, 8 minutes walk, no need to cross the main road, convenient for doing business. Breakfast is rich, suitable for families to stay, apply for visas, etc.
However, the front desk service downstairs was stiff and mechanical, and suddenly asked for a deposit of 1,000 yuan in cash. When asked to show the available vouchers, the staff actually took a stack of unnamed receipts for 5 yuan on the side of the road; after being questioned, the manager actually said: "Then you should not stay." This kind of unprofessional attitude is really a disservice to the elegance of the international chain of high-end hotel apartments. The final outcome of the negotiation was that the deposit was 300 yuan and the room was allowed. I can't understand what kind of "system" this is.
It feels to me that this apartment relies on foreign-related intermediaries to provide monthly rental services for Chinese and foreign executives. The front desk and manager do not have the basic service awareness of high-end hotel apartments. It is not difficult to see that there are so many bad reviews on Ctrip.
After staying, the service inside is excellent, but it is all buried by the poor appearance. .

We had a very pleasant 3 night stay at the 2 bedroom suite in Ascott. Suite has 2 toilets which was important for our group of 4. Kitchen was well stocked with glasses, utensils as well as laundry detergent for the washing machine cum dryer which was working well. We asked and hotel promptly sent up free bags of ice every night. We also ordered food and drinks delivery from Meituan and each time items were delivered right to our door step by their robots. Special thanks to customer service Ivan who warmly welcomed and checked us in on the first night, answered all our queries and helped us book a car ride to the airport on the last day. He’s smile and helpful disposition really made our stay at Ascott very pleasant and memorable.
Location: Metro and APM Line is about 5-10 mins walk and only less than 3 stops to central Tianhe shopping district. That being said we took Didi most of the time cos it was cheap. If you slowly venture and walk through the linked IFC Friendship mall all the way to the other malls you will discover plenty of food choices and decent shopping.
Overall I would highly recommend staying at Ascott.
