Hotels with Parking in Franz Josef

Didn’t manage to stay in this hotel, however there was no suggestion and no advice to make the experience better especially being a tourist who would not know many things about the location of the hotel.

A stunning modern studio room with a spa bath. Small outside terrace with Mountain View. Everything we needed and easy walk to small local town which suited us perfectly. Extra-large bed exceptionally comfortable. Very tight vehicle through-fare because of limited parking space outside rooms and slightly thoughtless parkers. Exceptional local scenery driving to Fran’s Joseph and onward down to Wanaka.

Excellent stay! Great value! No complaints! The check in was very easy. Parking right outside the accommodation. Close to all the amenities. Warm and comfy. Only thing I could advise, compared to other accommodations is having a smart tv to watch things like netflix. (Seems to be the trend across hotels) Everything else amazing! Thank you

Very good value for money by staying here and close to everything. I didn't have a hire car so walked everywhere and I was close to everything I needed and easy walking distance. Motel is run by a nice family, always willing to answer questions and I felt very welcome. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily stay here again. The decor, and bed linen etc is older style, but homely and comfortable. Highly recommend. Has onsite laundry too which is fantastic.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely stay. The hostel was super clean, cosy with a fireplace lit every night for the cold weather and super friendly staff. It is a great location and Georgie was incredible, going above and beyond to help us! So helpful and friendly! I highly recommend!

When you stay with Bella Vista you know what to expect and whilst there are subtle nuances that define difference locations, the experience is fundamentally the same. The hotel is located slightly away from the main street of Franz Josef, but still in a busy location. There are many restaurants within a very short walk and except for touring the region, once you park at the hotel, you don't need your car for getting around the town. We had booked a Compact Queen room, however we were put in an access room on the ground floor, which had a great deal of space and a large bathroom. As you expect from Bella Vista, everything was immaculately prepared and presented and its hard to fault any aspect of it. This room was also fairly dark, with effective drapes. We didn't have much interaction with the hosts, apart from at check in.

My second visit, after 9 years and it's still the same. It's an achievement in itself about how you keep a hotel the same through a decade but kudos to the management for achieving that. Which also means my complaint from last time stays which is that the hotel and it's rooms are not sound proof and being in close proximity to the parking areas, there is a bit of a noise which saws through the tranquility of the space. Apart from that, it was a lovely stay, rained for 2 days of the three we were there but nonetheless it's always lovely to be staying at this hotel. The food at restaurant was great. If you order in early its better because they get pretty busy during meal time. And they are a favorite with the tour groups so good luck finding a table without reservation. The Landing Bar is 2 mins walking distance so that's an option as well. Location wise the hotel is perfect as it's just a stone's throw away from the supermarket (which is a welcome new addition) and the main activity areas which is the heli-hike, hiking, skydiving and the like.

The town is small, and it takes less than 5 minutes to walk everywhere. The front desk of this hotel was shared with another one and was not found at first. The cabin didn't look good, but it was cleaned and it was comfortable to live in. The hotel also takes you to watch fireflies for free at night

The hotel is located on the edge of FRANZE GLACIER. It is very convenient to go to the trail the next day to see the glacier. It is very convenient, motel, suite, with kitchen, it feels great!
