Yome - Your Home in Florence

I wouldn’t recommend this accomodation for a family with kids. When I booked this accommodation through trip.com, at that time I wasn’t informed the address. After I paid the money, then I found out the address. In my opinion, *********** is more user-friendly than trip.com.  Second when we reach to the address, at that time we found out that we are given the 3rd floor. If it was mentioned somewhere when I booked it, I would not book this property. The stairs are very narrow so it’s very risky.  The property manager (Lisa) was not welcoming. She was in rush to finish paperwork and go. Before we enter the house, we asked what level we are staying and she said first floor (me, my husband and my kids listened as first floor). When she brought us to the house, at that time we realised it’s a third floor. It may be an ascent issue but it must be written in the description when they advertise the house in trip.com.  Another disadvantage of Yome house is they put photos of all of the houses, which they are managing. So it’s misleading to customers. They should put only relevant photos of house so customers can make informed decisions.  I will never ever book anything through trip.com again.

This place was amazing. Very centrally located with views to the Duomo. The apartment was very large and the kitchen well equipped. The third bedroom was in a separate self contained unit off the room terrace, a lovely little surprise.

It’s the second time we’ve stayed at Yome in Florence. Each time we felt like home! Excellent check-in—fast, efficient, and very friendly. The hosts are always available for details and to answer any questions. When you come to Florence, it all depends on what expectations you have. These are old, historic buildings—you can’t really expect wide staircases, or elevators… again, it all depends on your expectations. Of course, there are things that could be improved here and there, but this is Florence—a fabulous city. Details like the absence of a microwave, no salt and pepper in the kitchen, or some street noise… I think those are just minor things. Yome truly feels like HOME! We stayed at Corso 9. And definitely would come back here again!!

Your home in Florence was an educational experience for us, as we learned what BEDBUG bites look like, from first hand. Poor hygiene dominated the apartment, which we found out immediately when we entered: The walls were dirty and the couch (also used as a 2nd bed) had some gross white stains on it. Nevertheless, we did not mind that. We did not mind the noise from the street as it was a nice commercial location with shops. We did not mind the narrow stairs, which we had to walk to almost climb at the 2nd floor, nor the smell of smoke in the apartment– even though it was prohibited. We did not even mind the tenant who arrived in the morning going nuts and waking us all up at 7am, furiously knocking all ring bells plus the panic button in the entrance, as she was waiting for the host who was obviously late. We did not mind the floors being sticky and we soon realized that the only cleaning done after each rental, solely consisted of bedsheets changing, trash disposal and bathroom cleaning. However, we DO MIND finding out that the bites all over our bodies were not mosquitos as we first thought, but by BEDBUGS!! The bed apparently never gets cleaned after all those guests who daily rent the flat and God knows how many previous tenants also thought they had mosquito bites, instead of bedbug bites. 3 days later, we are still itching like crazy and filled with BEDBUG bites which take 2 weeks to disappear!!!! Apart from the prominent lack of hygiene, there is also a lack of even the slightest sign of moral code from the owner’s side. When we reported the issue to them, asking for a refund, they called us liars and thought we wanted a free stay. They replied that these things happen and that it’s part of the game. Sure mate, if you live in a dungeon I guess those things might happen, right? So, they admit that you might get bitten and even get an infection by not sterilizing as they are supposed to do and that’s totally cool with them!! This is a total lack of respect towards hygiene standards and to the people who pay you for your service. We do not need your refund, even though there were expenses on our cost for doctors, medication, and a full STERILIZATION on our home (as bedbugs can be carried with you once in contact) – you know, just like the one you were supposed to do in the flat every now and then. We need you to start respecting people’s health standards. Thankfully, they are sorry for the situation – how touching. AVOID THIS DISGUSTING PLACE.

My wife and I stayed on the top floor studio w terrace. It is ideal for a young couple, no children and not the elderly. The staircase is narrow and will get your legs in shape for the Dumo climb. Hot water takes quite some time to make it to the top floor and the mixer value in the shower has a lot to be desired. The shower measures two foot by two foot. We ended up taking sponge baths in the kitchen sink. The place is well taken care of and the owner will meet your needs. We were grateful of the towel change in mid week. A great location and we loved the terrace and enjoyed our stay.
