The room didn't have a proper window so you couldn't see outside. The breakfast was ridiculous and far too greasy. Our room felt 30 degrees and the cheap fan the team brought us was just ridiculous. In addition, the shower had no pressure and there were yellow stains on the bathroom floor. Don't even get me started on the bed. To summarise, you simply have to improve everything. Only the team was friendly.

We stayed here on a recent trip to Edinburgh, as it had parking on site and there was easy access to the city centre via bus or taxi. We took a taxi to Edinburgh Castle at a cost of £23 one way and £20 when returning. The room was small, but functional . The bed was reasonably comfortable. Clean bedlinen. A reasonable bathroom with a good shower. Breakfast was not very good. Food had been standing a while, was quite dried up and didn’t look very appealing. Evening carvery food was also quite poor. Just warm, not hot. Sloppy vegetables. The hotel and restaurant itself would benefit from some TLC and a bit of basic maintenance, such as touching up the paint on the walls, steam cleaning the carpets. It just looked a bit shabby. Overall, functional to put your head down overnight when visiting the city.

The hotel was clean, staff were friendly. Room 104 although a spacious, clean room had an awful smell coming from the bathroom of drains / sewerage. Some of the breakfast items were also overcooked / hard - black pudding could have been used a a hockey puk

Excellent Easter dinner, lots to select from, looked and tasted fresh. The choice of meats were great and there was something for everyone. The staff were wonderful and friendly especially Donna who was very attentive and interactive with the children. Thanks again, we will be back.

Had a celebration for 66 in the restaurant and everything was brilliant. From setting up, thank you Scott, Chris and especially Pam. Service was amazing from Pam and Shanna throughout the entire evening. Food was fantastic, great selection on carvery and hot! Cannot thank Toby Edinburgh West enough for a perfect evening.
