There is no free internet available, you need to purchase it for 3 pounds a day for two devices. It is a 12-minute walk from the train station and a ten-minute train ride to the center of Edinburgh. There is no hairdryer in the room. You can borrow it from the front desk or store your luggage. The hotel staff is friendly.

Clean rooms, quiet location, unfussy service, lovely friendly staff. A regular stop over the course of 18 months of travel up to Edinburgh.

The hotel serves the purpose as it’s outside the city. There is ample parking available for free at the hotel.

Really enjoyed staying here it was a very clean hotel and nothing was too much trouble for the reception desk to attend to. Room was nice and spacious and the shower was clean and well maintained. However, only downside was the size of the TV for such a big room it could have done with being on the slightly larger side. Apart from that though all in all I would stay here again as the transport links are good and the bonus of having the South Gyle shopping centre a 5 min drive away is a nice added bonus.

I have never experienced anything like this hotel. I drove 6 hours to stay here for business and when I arrived I was told I had not booked. It was midnight, freezing cold and raining. I explained I had my booking confirmation and could show my phone but was told this wasn’t acceptable and I wouldn’t be let in It was clear this member of staff didn’t want to do work. She was rude and unhelpful, looking at excuses as to why I couldn’t show her my booking I explained I’d stayed previously but was met with nothing but resistance AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Member of staff (I believe her name was Yolande) was extremely rude to me and very unhelpful

This was the second time we'd stayed at this particular hotel and as before it was clean and comfortable and we had no issues. It's interesting to note, though, that a few things seem to have altered. For instance, in the shower there was only 'hand soap' - no body/hair shower gel, although the 'hand soap' did the job OK. The hotel no longer seems to offer glasses for water, with only two mugs next to the kettle. And while both of us had nice big bath towels, there were no hand towels. Not that we needed them, but I'm sure they used to be supplied. Doubtless these changes are to cut costs and to be honest they didn't affect our three-night stay, I just mention them as observations. Generally, we'd be happy to stay here again, although for those without a car I suggest that might be found to be a bit 'off the beaten track'.

Fab stay at this travelodge. I've never had a bad stay with a travelodge! Plenty of parking, super comfy beds, receptionist was very friendly and welcoming (sorry can't remember his name.. we checked in late 12th july) Close to gyle centre and motorway. Would definitely stay again.

Always ask to have a room overlooking the car park at the rear as not only is it quiet on the top floors but you get a view of the distant hills. The rooms at the front overlook a fairly busy dual carriageway. You are outside the LEZ and there is a frequent /bus service into the City. You can buy a day rider ticket but beware - it is only for that route. There are a great number of different 'bus companies with different deals. You dont need to use the nearby Park and Ride. Excellent room but could do with more hooks for towels in the bathroom and a heated mirror. The whole bathroom is prefabricated plastic with just the toilet, no self closing seat, and hand basin being added. No grouting to get dirty. The future of bathrooms!! All staff very welcoming and an abundance of FREE parking. Excellent reasonably priced breakfast. The premises next door are not for breakfasts if you want cereals as well. Slices of cake at £5-99 are simply huge. Thick and 25 centimetres tall!! Never seen anything like it. The ice creams are huge as well. I highly recommend this hotel for a visit to Edinburgh. My only concern with Travelodge is not being able to make a request online although there may be a way if you know how.
