The Raeburn

Another brilliant recommendation for your staff. This time without my ancient parents, who I normally bring. We were still treated like royalty. A night out with my partner. Struan and Matias were lovely. We sat at the bar (without my parents!) and were treated beautifully. It’s so lovely to have a local bar that recognise you. Thank you!!

Tremendous accommodations, staff, service, food and drink…my wife, 3 year old daughter and I had an amazing experience. Great location and close walk to Castle, Royal Mile and Edinburgh Botanical Gardens which are all a must see.

Very nice hotel, fantastic location with spacious room/bathroom & comfortable bed. I liked that there was a fan provided because it was very warm. The robes and slippers were a nice touch although we didn’t use them. Unfortunately I found that the check in was quite chaotic, unwelcoming & rushed - reception is in a busy & narrow area near the bar so customers were squeezing past me - there maybe isn’t much that can be done about this though due to the layout. I wish that there had been an explanation of where to find things in the room, I spent a while looking for tea and coffee which was in the back of a cupboard with a kettle half-filled with old water… I also wish a price list had been available for the minibar as it was unclear what items were complimentary. We tried phoning reception from the phone in the room but no luck! In the morning we spoke to a helpful staff member who explained what was included/not included but apologised saying we should’ve been told on arrival. My advice would be to provide a welcome document in each room with essential info such as where to find things, minibar price list, emergency numbers, wifi info etc. as many hotels I’ve stayed in provide this as standard & it’s very helpful for tourists. Overall the hotel is nice but could’ve been perfect with some attention to the small details as mentioned!

Fantastic stay at The Raeburn Hotel- the staff were so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Fantastic location in a beautiful part of the city- enjoyed my stay very much, not to mention the super tasty Burger I had for lunch and super comfy sleep!

Travelling sometimes tosses a curve ball. We recently experienced one but it led us to book last minute at the Raeburn, and minor disaster turned into a wonderful discovery. We arrived to a joy-filled outdoor area, busy indoor lounge and restaurant and very helpful staff who took us to the room, ensured we were comfortable and then tolerated our several changes in a restaurant booking with smiles. The room was very comfortable, well equipped and well-priced.
