Grangeview Guest House

Stayed here at the beginning and at the end of our trip. The place was okay but outdated. Also the building affected my partner's sinuses. Not sure why, his health usually is not sensitive like that. We didn't realize this until we stayed there a second time. The bathrooms attached to the rooms are useable but the shower and sink are very small. Also if someone flushes the toliet while another person showers, the water will run cold for a bit. We had stayed in two different rooms and had hot water issues with two separate bathrooms. The second/last time the water would go from boiling hot to ice cold continuously. No one was using the other bathroom at the time so must be something wrong with the shower itself. They do provide coffee and oatmeal in the room which was nice. There is also free parking in the back in case you have a car.

Happy in Edinburgh A lovely old building in a quiet neighborhood.The Edinburgh Marathon was the same weekend we were trying to get accommodations and the only room in this affordable lodging that was available was one with shared toilet and shower. We had a sink in our room though so that was great! The host was on site and actually insisted on carrying one of our bags up and down the two flights of stairs. The bananas and oranges at the front desk were very welcome! We expected to shared the toilet and shower but we had them to ourselves as it turned out.

Great spot, just a little far from the heart of town. Comfy, friendly and a nice area of town.

An absolute gem of a place. From the wonderful and friendly welcome from Kim upon my arrival, I knew I was in for a comfortable stay. Great rooms, clean, spacious, comfy bed, plenty of pillows, tv etc Tea and coffee stuff and some breakfast biscuits and porridge which suited to me a T. Plenty of room to hang yer clothes up and drawers fer all yer knickknacks! Watch out for the 120 stairs that you have to walk up to the first floor. Well maybe not as many, but with a heavy suitcase it felt it lol Only downside for me was the shower. As a six foot, 21 stone man, it’s a wee bit of a tight fit, so make sure you’ve got your soap before you get in and dinnae drop anything as there no much room. Joking aside it was fine, honestly and juts me being picky. Can highly recommend this place. Kim and Andy make you feel so very welcome and relaxed in their home. Perfect

We were lucky enough to stay at the Clarin Guest House. What a beautiful couple. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the hospitality was superb. I can recommend this glorious Guest House very highly. Thankyou Kim and Andy for making our stay so special. You are truly gorgeous people.
