Datong Pingcheng District Hotels

A very pleasant stay at the Pipa Old Inn. A very historical building, though the place is equipped with all necessary modern amenities save for an elevator. Fortunately the staff very helpful assisted us with lugging up our heavy luggage to our room on the 3rd floor. Very beautifully decorated and strategically located in the heart of Datong Ancient City. Very pleasant and helpful staff who helped us plan and arrange our trips around Datong though sadly, they weren't very proficient in English (but that's common in China). Free breakfast was included in our stay and there was a decent spread though the menu didn't change much over our stay there save for one or two vegetable dishes being rotated. Overall definitely worth a return trip and stay in Datong Ancient City.

Excellent hotel, everything is perfect about this hotel. Excellent service from the reception and housekeeping staff. The room was excellent and extremely clean, very modern and big. Location-wise, it is excellent as it is only a 5-minute drive from Datong Railway Station. Breakfast was also amazing with a wide variety and high standard for a very reasonable price. Definitely will choose this hotel again if I am coming back to Datong.

The location of the B&B is very good. There is a large parking lot at the door. If you drive here, you can navigate to the Dusi Street parking lot and you will arrive directly. However, the roads in the ancient city are narrow and it is difficult to pass each other. If you don't have much luggage, it is recommended to park in the parking lot next to the city wall, which is convenient for parking and walking. Walk in about 500 meters. Parking is 20 yuan a day. The Nezha theme wall painting at the door of the B&B is very eye-catching and easy to check in! The decoration inside the B&B is simple and each small courtyard is elegant and quiet. Jiushe is located a few meters away from the main street of the night market. It is quiet in the bustling city. The surrounding attractions and Internet celebrity restaurants are all within walking distance. The owner and employees of Jiushe are very enthusiastic and actively help us solve problems. I will stay there next time!

Just realized I forgot to leave a review, so I'm specially coming back to write one! My sister and I stayed here for two days in Datong after attending a wedding in Taiyuan. The courtyard is lovely, and it was so comfortable just relaxing there. They also provide complimentary bicycles, which we used to cycle to attractions like Yanhuasi, Shanhuasi, and the Nine-Dragon Wall, and to explore local eateries nearby. The service was exceptional. Our initial room unfortunately still had a slight renovation smell, even six months after the work was done, so they promptly moved us to a family suite. The front desk staff were very apologetic and even offered us a discount. Later, when I came down with a stomach bug, the owner personally brewed Puer tea for me, chatted, and genuinely checked in on my well-being. We later learned the guesthouse is run by the owner and their friends, which truly explains its wonderfully warm and welcoming atmosphere.

We booked 4 rooms this time, with 7 people in our group + 1 child. The rooms are very clean and each has its own character and name. There are tatami beds and double beds. A large tatami bed is specially arranged for children, so they can sleep peacefully 😁. The room is fully equipped with various disposable toiletries and an instant water kettle. I especially like the service 👍🏻. The breakfast variety is much richer than we imagined, including eggs, corn, pumpkin, sweet potato, millet porridge, minced meat noodles, small cold dishes, fruits, and they even made cakes for the children. On the first day we arrived at the B&B, the staff came to meet us and help with our luggage. It was raining, and they reminded us that there were umbrellas available at the door. I also boiled some hot water to drink. There is a big solid wooden table in the lobby on the first floor, with fruits and snacks on it. The children were very happy 😄. The inside and outside of the door are carefully decorated with green plants and hydrangeas, which is very comfortable. The geographical location is perfect for our travel, close to the main road, with parking spaces available. When we don't want to drive, we can take a taxi or stroll into the ancient city for shopping and eating. As soon as I went out, I saw the city wall. I went to see the night view on my last night! This time everyone praised the convenient location.

The price is very high, the hot spring is not big but clean and hygienic, it has local bathing characteristics, the guests are basically regular customers, slow and comfortable. The back is also a major feature. It costs less than 100 yuan to enjoy an hour of squatting, pressing, pinching, and flushing. Basically, they are all done in a deep sleep. Unfortunately, there are too many people in the queue, and I can't wait for more than an hour. I can leave my hope to the next time.

The room is really large, the air-conditioning is super powerful, very suitable for family travel, the overall facilities of the hotel are very new, the service is also in place, this price is beyond expectations, the front desk lady is warm and thoughtful, very patient, the overall super satisfied, recommended to family members who want to travel to Datong.

The design style is designed by a Japanese designer and incorporates Chinese thangka art. The boss's collection of thangkas are all hand-painted by Regong, and each thangka is considered to be a high-quality product. Standing in front of thangka, I feel that the whole world has become quiet, and my soul seems to have returned. This is not only a place to stay, but also a good place for people to relax and find their spiritual self. 3 I have always believed that the meaning of travel is not only to see the scenery, but more importantly to experience life. In this B&B, I found such an experience. From the decoration design in the room to the layout of each thangka, every detail makes people feel warm and clean. If you are looking for a place to rest your soul, this is definitely your first choice. This B&B left a deep impression on me. It not only has a beautiful environment, but also feels like home. You can explore the ancient city during the day and enjoy the warmth of home when you return to the B&B at night. In particular, the mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable and ensured a good night's sleep. This is a B&B full of charm and peace of mind. From the moment you check in to the time you leave, every moment feels like you are in a Zen world. Whether it is the internal layout of the room or the design of the external environment, they fully demonstrate the owner's extremely high aesthetic level and intention. For anyone visiting Datong, I wholeheartedly recommend this guesthouse! It was the perfect first stop on my Shanxi trip, and the experience was superb. It truly operates at a high hotel standard; the attention to detail in the rooms was exceptional, even providing mouthwash and laundry detergent. Overall, from its prime location and beautiful interior to the impeccable service from the front desk ladies, everything was faultless. It's clear the owner runs this place with immense dedication and care. Both the exterior and room decor are incredibly stylish. The front desk staff and even the cleaning team were all incredibly friendly and helpful. From the airport pickup upon arrival to their help with luggage near the guesthouse, every detail was so thoughtful. During my stay, the front desk ladies were wonderfully accommodating, often assisting with packages and food deliveries. At checkout, I even received a lovely local Shanxi vinegar as a souvenir. In short, I highly recommend it. Should I return to Datong, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Very satisfied with the whole trip The room is very quiet and clean. It is within walking distance of the core scenic spots. The Dai Wangfu is right next to it, Huayan Temple is a 15-minute walk, and the Nine Dragon Wall is about an 8-minute walk. I think it's not bad. The main point is that the boss is very good, warm and thoughtful. The station drop-off service is very convenient. Also, it’s close to several delicious restaurants! No wonder Datong’s food is delicious. The King of Dai back then brought over a hundred top chefs to Datong to take up their posts.
