Sesame Street Hotel (Dalian High-tech Park Wanda Plaza)

Honestly, this place was terrible. Absolutely everything about it was subpar. Upon check-in, the room had a very strong, unpleasant odor. I was moved to a different room, but the smell was still overwhelmingly strong. There were also inexplicable water stains and grime all over the room. For a stay costing over 200, this was truly unacceptable. It's genuinely the worst place I've ever stayed.

Absolutely horrendous! The hotel's cleanliness was beyond terrible. The walls were covered in unidentified stains, the door lock was broken, and the soundproofing was abysmal. The bed sheets were torn, and the bathroom water reeked of rust. Underneath the toilet bowl, there was a yellowish substance, and gray particles were visible inside. The shower and toilet area were only separated by a curtain, which was stained with an unidentified reddish-brown liquid. The front desk service was equally appalling. When I inquired about a room upgrade, I was met with a cold 'no' and no explanation whatsoever.

I just realized I didn't even take any photos... All I can say is, after traveling for business to dozens of cities, this is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. It's even worse than a dingy hostel next to a train station. The hygiene was visibly appalling, and the room stank so badly I almost gagged. As for the bed... I didn't dare to sleep in it. I only dared to lie on top of the duvet, just barely tucking in a corner. And then... this is the first time I've ever encountered a hotel charging for its public washing machine. 5 RMB for a wash? 2 RMB for a spin cycle? Unbelievable! Luckily, it's not my first time in Dalian, otherwise, this experience would have completely ruined the city for me. A low price is no excuse for terrible hygiene. Other hotels manage to offer good prices while still providing excellent hygiene and service. What an absolute eye-opener!

The location is excellent, with very convenient transport links, and Wanda Plaza is just nearby. The room itself was incredibly stylishly decorated, spacious, and bright. Cleanliness was impeccable; you could tell the towels and bathtub had been thoroughly disinfected, which made our stay feel very safe and reassuring. Plus, the staff even helped us plan our travel itinerary. Absolutely superb value for money!

The room was quite spacious, and the bed, being on the softer side, offered a very comfortable sleep. There are plenty of dining options in the vicinity. Plus, it's just a pleasant walk of a little over a kilometer from the hotel to the beach, perfect for enjoying the ocean views.

Excellent value for money! The rooms are spacious, the bedding is high quality, and the projector is crisp. Staying here made our trip incredibly comfortable and relaxing. What's more, its location near the subway makes getting around super convenient.
