I booked the wrong date, and when I got to the front desk, they told me to cancel it in the system and pay again on site, but they refused to cancel it afterwards. The hotel environment is poor, the hygiene is poor, the breakfast is very simple, and the attitude of the service staff is average.

El hotel está muy bien ubicado en la Avenida del Sol. Es un edificio hermosamente reciclado con un amplio patio interno con ascensor panoramico. Las habitaciones tiene un tamaño adecuado, el baño está muy bien y el descanso excelente, salvo por las consecuencias de la altura que algunos sufrieron en la primer noche. El desayuno es muy bueno con amplia variedad de opciones. La ubicación del hotel permite conocer los principales puntos de la ciudad a pie, aunque se puede tomar taxi por un precio razonable para evitar caminar en subida cuando se va al Mercado de San Pedro por ejemplo. El personal es muy amable y nos ayudó con el tema del transporte.

The main advantage of the Hotel San Agustin El Dorado is its location. The hotel is close to the Plaza de Armas, on a wide, busy street with shops and a small market. This allowed us to walk to the main attractions of the historic center, always safely and easily. The hotel is an old building, adapted and updated, which implies some limitations, which are completely acceptable. However, the hotel lacks small details and service. We had several problems inside the room, which forced us to change rooms during our stay. Here are examples of my experience at the hotel. In room 212, the shower stall lacks any soap and shampoo holders. Everything had to be placed on the floor. The room's only window faces the hotel's main lobby, where there is loud music from the restaurant and a lot of chatter from guests arriving and leaving constantly. It's impossible to have silence in the room due to this external noise. - In room 501, the bathroom doesn't have a shower stall, only a bathtub. So far so good, as it's an older hotel. But the shower curtain prevented us from taking a shower without flooding the bathroom floor. The curtain was too short. The lamp's plug in the outlet on the nightstand (next to the bed) was loose, causing it to turn off by itself a few times. Room 501 is on the fifth and top floor, where a loud noise occasionally occurred. We were told the noise was coming from a piece of equipment called the hotel's "humidity extractor." It was very annoying, especially at night. In room 318, the shower stall had a glass panel and was partially open. Taking a shower meant wetting the bathroom floor. The room's window faced a hotel service lobby. At certain times of the day, garbage was transported, with a strong odor that was bothersome. It was impossible to keep the window open during this time. There was also an intermittent sound (like an external exhaust fan) that bothered us several times. Breakfast is basic, but lacks flavor and brilliance. There's no espresso option at any time of the day. The toaster and sandwich maker are old, small appliances, incompatible with the demands of a breakfast in a hotel full of people wanting to use them. In short, the experience was not good. The hotel doesn't feel like a 4-star hotel to me, doesn't offer good service, and the staff doesn't seem happy to serve guests.
