My sisters and I live in Chicago (I live 10 minutes away from the hotel). We wanted to take a quick staycation. The Sable is near a lot of iconic and historic places in Chicago. The hotel was to live for!!! The staff was absolutely amazing!!! Contemporary furniture, an amazing bathroom, and comfortable rooms. The views were priceless inside and outside the hotel. We walked everywhere. There are bars, restaurants, stores, boat tours, entertainment, etc... within walking distance of the hotel. Awesome would be an understatement!

I’d give -10 to this hotel! We stayed there for 6 nights. We got a room on the last floor, it was nice, but dirty. Beds weren’t changed (found hairs and dirty pillows, stained sheets) and didn’t have a comforter, table and windowsill weren’t wiped (had some foods, souse spills, etc), windows had large prints. I wiped everything by myself, and called to ask to change the bed. The girl was very annoyed, even didn’t say “hi” and “by”, and changed it with teen’s attitude, when you ask them to do something they don’t want to do. On the third night we (my husband, daughter and I) woke up at 4 am because of the FIRE ALARM. We ran to the hall, but the fire alarm was only in our room. We came back and foun out that our room was full of smoke and smelled very bad. We called reception, the guy who worked the night shift was polite, and gave us another room to sleep. After we woke up I went to the reception to ask for another room, hostes pretended that he didn't know about anything, after I explained to him a situation, he gave me another room, mentioned that it’ll cost $25 less, but said they can only refund half of one night's price, because it happened at 4am. I didn’t want to ruin my day by arguing with him and came back in the evening. There was another guy (he said he is a supervisor), who again pretended he didn’t know about the situation. I explained everything again, and asked him what happened in our room and asked him to send a report about it, because my daughter, and I felt bad all day, had bad headaches and coughed, and I needed something to confirm that there was an accident in this hotel. He played the game “I don’t know what happened”, and it was a lie, because a guy in the morning told me that an inspector already worked in our room. I politely asked him to call the manager. The manager AGAIN asked me to repeat what happened, because he “didn’t know”. When I said that “our room was full of smoke” he said to me “it’s what you are saying, we (“hotel”) didn't see it” and they can’t give me any report. This was the moment when I stopped being polite, and the email was sent to me 5 min after that. “Our chief engineer found the source of the smoke coming from the HAVC unit in 2208. The smoke that was seen and smelled was from the condensation hitting the wires in the HVAC” When we checked out, I asked about adjusting our room price, because the guy told us it will be $25 cheaper, so they needed to return $75. The girl who worked there that morning stopped to smile, started to talk rudely, said she can’t do it, she needs to call the manager, etc. and stared at me. I politely said that it is ok and I can wait a little while for her manager. She called him, and the manager (new one) asked me AGAIN to explain the whole situation, like he didn’t know about it. He said he doesn’t know who told me about different prices, he has to look, and they already refunded the night, etc. When I pointed out that he speaks rudely, and I don’t understand w

One of the highlights of our trip - also caught the taxi boat which at $16 a head was a bargain. If you have time, a trip to the zoo (free) is a must Red bus tour at $50 each a rip off $5 daily ticket for their overground local loop trains was a bargain Expect to pay $12-15 for a glass of wine

In the hotel in 2022, check-in and check-out are self-service, the room is small but very new, the pad controls the room equipment, the location is in the city center, and the price is basically satisfactory.

We got to the hotel at around 7am from Seattle and it’s our first time in Chicago. Overall the workers in the hotel they are so helpful and accommodating. Specially Anastasia and Enrique they helped us out with the parking and stuff to see in downtown Chicago. We ate at the bar that night and the bartender was so helpful. We know that he was busy but he was still nice. We had a good experience in this hotel and can’t wait to go back with the whole family. The location was convenient you don’t need to rent a car. The train is just there as soon as you leave your hotel. Shopping is just around the corner. The coffee at the goddess is a must. The bean is just a block away. We really enjoyed staying in this hotel and will visit again soon. Thanks again to Anastasia and Enrique you made our stay memorable.

Female quad: I booked a bed in a FEMALE quad. I checked in and went to the room to find men’s clothes hanging and men’s shoes. I went back to the front desk telling them I paid extra money to be in a female quad and there is a man in the room. She said the person is a woman but she wears men’s clothes. I went back to the room, the second I open the door, a black man jumps into his bed and closes the curtains. I came closer to him and said hi, he ignored me and used a towel to cover his face. I went back to the front desk, they sent a security to check. The security man didn’t let me be in the room with him, and asked me to leave the room so he can have a word with him. 5mins later, the security man comes out and says its a girl, but I defiantly saw a man. I went back to the room and the man still tries to hide his face by a towel. Went back to the front desk and asked to put me in a bother room as I don’t feel safe sleeping in this room, they refused to transfer me. Then I asked to cancel my reservation and refund me and they refused to do so. I ended up leaving and going to another hotel. Hotel: The hotel and room doesn’t look like what they advertise on their website. The room is very very small to the point that there is no room to open your suitcase on the floor. The bathroom is very disgusting with no room service to clean. There is even no enough lighting in the room or the bathroom. The elevators looked like a coffin, very dark with no light and slow. There is no lobby to sit and socialise with other. They will charge you if you use the lobby. Front desk: The people at the from desk are very rude, especially the short black woman. She has no customer service skills, rude and yells at people. She could be a janitor, plumber, car mechanic but not receptionist. Clearly the hotel doesn’t care about providing good customer service. Deposit: they will charge you $50 despot at check-in and claim that it will be refunded after checking out. Be aware, it won’t be refunded. I didn’t stay at the hotel, despite that they refunded only $44. I called asking why did you charge me $6 if I didn’t stay at the hotel, the black woman yelled at me and ended the call after telling her I don’t understand what she is saying. I emailed them asking for a refund, no answer.
