We honestly chose this hotel because of its supposed proximity to the beach. There is a good distance and stairs to get to the beach. As for breakfast, the only service used, it was not what I expected, given the category of the establishment. In fact, out of three breakfasts, in two of them the soy milk was spoiled!!! Also mention that the cleanliness left me quite dissatisfied. We had some sheets stained with what looked like blood... they didn't change them until the second day... I wanted another pillow and I grabbed it from the closet and some huge fluff fell on me!!! I also post pictures here... The only thing that saved this disappointment was the attention of the staff, always friendly and the well-kept outdoor facilities. I'm sorry for this assessment, but I think there are things to improve, especially given the 4-star category.

Very good service. Good destination buffet and dinner. Spacious facilities and very comfortable and numerous hammocks in the pool, with umbrellas. All very well. Highly recommended.

A we’ll kept secret. Beautiful natural beach, clean sand which gently slopes into a crystal clear Atlantic. We visited out of season so the beaches were not overcrowded which was super. There were a few beach cafes open which served high quality food at reasonable prices. The nearby town of Conil is quaint and charming and very Spanish.

no air con in room and imposible to sleep at night due to high temperatures, and if you leave the window open you get eaten by the mosquitoes, and the room we were given was in an adjacent building with no hotekl feeling it seemed we were in a apt block

Lovely stay, good food and wine, great facilities and close to the beach and lovely town. The pools were great and was good to have an indoor option. Good to have lots of choice of secluded places around the pool. We enjoyed table tennis and the gym with the kids. Would definitely recommend.

The air con is completely inadequate. We could hardly sleep at night!!!. Very uncomfortable indeed. I suspect they are saving money despite being a 4 start hotel. We made this clear to them multiple times, they only provided two small portable heater fans which were inadequate and very very noisy. We were three separate rooms, all of us encountered the same problem and struggled to sleep. I was told off for using the milk machine beside the coffee machine by the breakfast waiter, despite no sign or indication or any hot milk having been served us. I apologised profusely…..

Fab hotel , superb location , views, pools and an amazing breakfast . However rooms were too warm and a/c didn’t work and we were told ‘at this time of year it only heats not cools’. Had to leave patio door open . This was only disappointment. Otherwise excellent and will return

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay in Fuerte Conil. The hotel is actually comprised of two - Fuerte Conil and Fuerte Costa Luz. Residents can use both hotels' facilities, but breakfast is served in the hotel of residence. We stayed in Costa Luz part. First of all, the best impressions: 1) hotel is very clean, 2) it has great gardens, 3) people do not hoard sunbeds, so you could get one when you feel like it, 4) the breakfast is beyond excellent with its fresh fruits and just pressed juices, quality meats and cheeses, superbroad selection of muesli and hot foods (also non gluten food is available), 5) room, balcony and bathroom are spacious, matresses are good, conditioning is effective, 6) hotel staff is polite but not overbearing, 7) water from the tab is drinkable so no need for bottled water. The natural gem of the location is compratively mild climate (temperature did not go over 32), bustling evening life in the town of Conil and of course the superb Playa de Fontanilla beach. It is a very wide (100 m accross) beach with white sand. There are no sharp stones whatsoever. It declines slowly into the ocean, so is is safe for younder kids. The beach is very clean and taken care of. Toilets, showers and feet washing posts are available in regular intervals. There are kiosks and restaurants that are not overpriced next to the beach. Staying on the beach is not pricy - you could rent a sun bed or you could come with your own towels, chairs, refrigirator bags and sun parasoles like locals do. The waves are considerable in size, but the pull into the ocean is not too strong. If you come with a pram or with a wheelchair - no problem, ther ramps available. Within our hotel we have used parking garage, tennis court, ping pong table, gym, jacuzzy, big waterpools and inner waterpool. Garage is small, so drive carefully. It could be reached only if your card is coded with access. It costs 13 euro a day. You don't need to use it, since outside there is enough of parking space. Tennis court is avaiable from 11 to 20 due to Spanish guests' habit to sleep in late. The most shadowy time is 19-20. Ping pong is not too crowded, you give 5 euros as a deposit to make sure you don't mes up rackets. Gym is not too crowdrd with variety of equipment, it is also clean. Waterpools vary in depth. Pool guards are dilgent, but not rude. Now to some things that need to be known. 1) The algorythms offer a double bed and a 90 cm bed for a family of 2 adults and kids under 12. 90 cm bed is too narrow for two kids over 10. Our kids made it work, but it was not easy. 2) The hotel mainly serves Spanish guests. Mostly everyone understands English, but be prepared to get an answer in German or in Spanish. 3. Spanish guests wake up late - you will get a peaceful breakfast if you come before 9.30. Spanish guests also stay up late. 4. Be prepared for blasting music till 24.00 just next to your window. Also some very young kids will run and shout in corridors after 22.00. 5.

We stayed here for 4 nights as part of a trip in Southern Spain and would highly recommend this resort. The resort is kind of split into two areas but both are lovely and have different vibes. The rooms are comfortable, clean and must say our bed was huge. Staff were all very good - friendly, warm and helpful. We will return for sure!

Background: I booked this hotel for a family trip. 3 adults and a 7 year-old child. I mainly used Tripadvisor and the hotel website for my information. We stayed here from April 26th until May 7th. The good parts: Wonderful location with great views. Amazing buffet dinner and breakfast for a very reasonable price. Drinks/cocktails and snacks were also affordable. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Several activities during the day for adults. Temperature varied between 23 and 33 degrees. Pool beds were soft. A total of 8 pools between the 3 buildings. Great beach and the staff did their best with a smile. The not so good parts: This hotel is completely aimed at Germans so the staff speaks very limited English. The only heated outside pool was closed during this time of year. The 2 inside heated pools were small and not well maintained. The remaining 5 outside pools were like stepping into a freezer, despite the extremely warm weather so they were not usable. The waterfall seen in the pictures is also offline. The Kid's club was only open on Saturday and Sunday and there were no activities for children during the day. The airconditioning was only available a few hours a day despite the heatwave and completely offline during the night. You could leave the balcony door open but only after 23:00 because the live music made it impossible for our child to sleep with the noise. I would not recommend this hotel for people with walking problems. there are large distances to cover with many uneven steps. The beach is also a long way down to reach. Final note: When booking you need to beware that this hotel has 3 buildings with 3 different styles, amenities and levels of comfort. 1 building did not even even have airconditioning. None of this important information is made clear on TripAdvisor since the pictures and features are all mixed.
