Even if I ask you to clean the room, they won’t do it. The water on the floor of the bathroom doesn‘t drain well. Even if you ask me to change the towel, they won’t do it. There are a lot of cockroaches. I can‘t sleep well because of the sound of the air conditioner pen. I asked for mosquito medicine because there were a lot of mosquitoes, but I sprayed it and went. There is no effect I often come to Sri Lanka on business trips, but this hotel is just the worst. 방 청소 해달라고 해도 안해줍니다. 화장실 바닥 물도 잘 안빠져요. 타올 교체 해달라고 해도 안해줍니다. 바퀴벌레 많아요. 에어컨 펜 소리때문에 잠을 잘 못자요 모기가 많아서 모기약 달라고 했는데, 스프레이로 뿌려주고 갔어요. 아무런 효과가 없음 스리랑카 출장 자주오는데 이호텔은 그냥 최악임

Hotel is in nice location, close to Pettah market and Fort Railway station. The room was large and everything was clean and tidy. As with all the places I've stayed in Sri Lanka, the place feels very tired, and in need of maintenance and renovation. Would recommend for a 1-2 nights stay for exploring the city.

The room didn’t look anything like the pictures, quite disappointing to be honest for the price. Staffs are friendly and helpful but the owner needs to do massive renovation to the rooms

Faded colonial glory Centrally located in the port district this hotel has seen better days that being said beds were clean and comfortable and the aircon worked well Good value for money

The hotel is old. The lobby is new. The window views are boring although it's one of the places you get to see the ports. The equipment in the hotel are old, with some electrical equipment not working. Some of the drawers weren't cleaned well and even had fungi. The solar heating doesn't help. It's sustainable and I like that but hot water takes ages to come through. The food is alright, nothing special but the buffet is expensive. Breakfast is not the best, very basic The service and staff are very friednly and speak good English

A comfortable old hotel in the center, within walking distance of the sights. The writer Chekhov and the Queen of Great Britain stayed at this hotel. The staff will show you the Chekhov suite for free. The furniture is antique. Comfortable orthopedic mattresses. Everything matches the description. Disadvantages: repairs have not been done for a long time, you have to wait until the water in the boiler heats up or wash with cold water, unstable Internet, no TV channels in Russian, the windows are tightly closed (so it is stuffy), the view outside the window leaves much to be desired. There is no toilet brush. Sometimes you just can't wash everything off with water. Only one mosquito flew during the 2 days of my stay.

The room and facilities are quite old. You could hear the next room. The sheets were dirty and had been used. (I've attached a photo.)
