The guest I booked for enjoyed staying at QVEST but would noted that it would have been very helpful to know in advance that the room does not come equipped with an air conditioning unit.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral. 15 Minuten vom Bahnhof und vom Dom entfernt in einem ruhigen Hinterhof. Die Mischung aus alten Mauern und vielen Designerstücken ist ein Highlight. Die Zimmer sind sauber, im obersten Stockwerk hätten wir eine Klimaanlage oder einen Ventilator gebrauchen können. Aber das nur bei sehr heißem Wetter. Das Frühstück ist gut, das Personal freundlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden das Hotel auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Eigentlich sollten man ja keine allzu positive Bewertungen schreiben, weil man damit mögliche Geheimtipps preisgibt. Ich tue es trotzdem, weil wir vom Qvest wirklich begeistert waren. Es beginnt mir der Lage, die trotz der Nähe zum Zentrum sehr ruhig, weil verkehrsberuhigt ist. Gleich um die Ecke ist das architektonisch wirklich sehr gelungen renovierte Gereonsviertel, die ehemaligen Zentrale des Gerlingskonzern (mit Tiefgaragenparkplätzen). Das Gebäude selbst ist ebenfalls eine stilistisches Juwel - zumindest für Liebhaber der Neo-Renaissance. Das Innere ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail und zum historischen Bestand renoviert. Die moderne Möblierung und Kunst-Kuratierung bilden einen spannenden und stilvollen Kontrapunkt. Wir hatten ein sehr grosses Doppelzimmer mit ca. 6m Deckenhöhe im ersten Stock, das nichts vermissen lies (die alten bleiverglasten Fenster sind wunderschön, könnten im Winter das Heizen allerdings erschweren). Das Frühstück war sehr individuell, trotzdem reich- und auch nachhaltig (keine übermässige Mengen). Die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und zuvorkommend ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Alles in allem ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt zu einem vernünftigen Preis.

Das QVEST liegt im Friesenviertel neben der Gereonskirche abgeschirmt gegen den städtischen Lärm. In direkter Nachbarschaft liegt das Gerling Quartier, was einst der Hauptsitz des Gerling-Konzerns war. Das Hotel ist mit Designmöbeln ausgestattet und trotzdem spartanisch, was eine besondere Ruhe ausstrahlt. Die Rezeption war sehr freundlich. Der einzige Nachteil ist im heissen Sommer, dass die Zimmer über keine Lüftung oder Kühlung verfügen... also Fenster auf, aber dafür ist es sehr ruhig.
