Best Rochdale Hotels

We had booked two rooms with a double and a single bed in both but when we arrived we were told are booking was for two rooms with one double in each as we had children as well was not best pleased hotel was great but spoilt the trip

Birthday overnight stay. Staff brilliant- nothing too much trouble yet really relaxed and laid back approach and friendly too. Quiet location despite being in centre of town. Lovely room and facilities. Would strongly recommend 😁

Meh! Not brilliant to be honest. Not really designed for stays by individuals or couples. It felt as though the whole set-up was to cater for the mass market of weddings or funerals. Staff poorly trained. I ordered a large G&T, the waiter asked if I meant a double and proceeded to pour vodka in a glass. Food was iffy , warmed up stilton tarte, mussels that were hiding in the corner of their shells (minute in size). Room had tatty armchairs, heating didn't work, cracked tiles, bits of bathroom equipment missing or not working. C'mon ! Its a great venue in a great location, train your staff, get a chef that cares, tidy up

Check in easy, lady on reception extremely helpful and polite. Observations Room 8 - doorknob and lock could do with replacing, a good tug and it could probably have come off in the hand. The bed is a small double and the mattress is a cheap one. Why hotels are not all using firm memory foam mattresses is beyond me. Quality of sleep is the most important thing when away. Thankfully only had one night here as my back would have not put up with another. Pillows (qty 3) were flat and provided little or no support and had to ask for another one which was provided but no better. No telephone to call reception even though the card in the room with information on tells you about phone. Fire escape picture not in a immediate location to see and when we did find it - it was not for that room!!! No plug in the sink. Only 1 bath and 1 hand towel provided for both of us. Had to ask for another set. Shower was ok when you eventually got hot water (had to run the shower for a good 10 minutes before any hot water ran through) - the shower was rusty and the tray that you put your shower things on had been broken off which left sharp exposed edges which could cause injury. Breakfast was nice but no alternatives were offered if you didn't want mushrooms (an additional item should be offered instead). Plenty of juice and drinks available along with cereals. Now I am no snob by any means and it should not matter how much or how little you pay for your room, you should get value for money. You should be able to have a restful nights sleep but this wasn't the case for us. I mentioned this to the chap on check out and he stated he would let the owners know. Before we left, a visit to the toilets was had, the ladies - well i have never been to a bathroom where you have to squeeze into the cubicle as they are that small that they hit the toilet!! On the back of the door was an advert stating it was the best hotel to hold a wedding etc and my first reaction was really???? Sadly I would not use this hotel again.

I’m really impressed, we visited the Moorcock for dinner before it changed hands and we could eat the food it was that bad. We came up on a beautiful sunny day and sat outside, ordered some food and were really impressed by it. The decor is so much better, the food is lovely, the staff are very friendly and the views well they never change. We loved the outdoor pod for events they’ve put up, the owners are obviously keen on investing and making the place even better. Will return

Attended a wedding it’s a fantastic little hidden gem. Modern yet traditional Wedding venue was lovely Staff very friendly & always asking that everything’s ok Room modern & comfy Bar prices reasonable compared to other venues that over price Light breakfast included in room price cereal,tea,coffee etc or you can upgrade to full English for £8.50 Amazing chips Wanted to stay an extra day but unfortunately fully booked. Would definitely recommend
