Echarm Properties in Chongqing

First, the pros: This hotel boasts an excellent location, right within the Jiefangbei business district. It's on the ninth floor of a shopping mall, sharing the building with two other hotels, and there's only one elevator dedicated to hotel access. We booked a family room, which was incredibly spacious and comfortably accommodated our family of four. It even had a self-service washer and dryer. The breakfast selection was good, though not a must-have. The beds were so comfortable, I never wanted to get up! Now for the cons: 1. If you're sensitive to smoke, this hotel isn't for you. Despite being advertised as a non-smoking hotel, ashtrays are provided in the rooms – what's the logic there? Plus, some guests openly smoke in the laundry room and lobby, with no staff intervention. Sometimes, you'll catch whiffs of smoke in the hallways and even in your room. 2. Some rooms have a sewage smell. It wasn't noticeable when we checked in during the afternoon, but by the time we returned to the room at night, the entire place reeked. After reporting it to the front desk, they moved us to the adjacent room. That room still had a scent, but it wasn't as strong, so I decided to just deal with it. 3. The cleaning staff seemed unaware of how many guests were in our room. With four of us, they only left two bath towels and two bottles of water daily after cleaning. So, we had to request extra bath towels from the front desk every single day.

I was very satisfied with my stay this time. The location is a huge plus, very close to the subway and shopping malls, which made getting around super convenient. For tourists visiting Chongqing, this hotel is really close to all the popular attractions. The room was bright and clean, and after a full day of sightseeing, I got a great night's sleep in bed. The front desk staff were very friendly and provided excellent service, so thoughtful! The room had all the amenities, including a mini-fridge. However, in the morning, two men downstairs were talking very loudly, which was quite noisy. Also, my bed creaked every time I turned over. But honestly, the front desk staff were really great.

Traveling with kids, the hotel's free parking was a huge plus. The room was clean and spacious, with a great separated toilet and shower area. The two ladies at the front desk were very friendly and proactively offered kids' slippers and toothbrushes for my child, and even arranged a quieter room for us. The noodle chef at breakfast was very nice, and the breakfast spread was rich and varied. The Chongqing noodles were especially delicious, and kids under 17 eat free for breakfast.
