First of all, the location is very good to find, just upstairs in the square, there is a supermarket restaurant next to the cinema, the night is still quiet, the corridor is not soundproof, walking and talking can be heard. The room is still quite new and clean. The quilt cover is not good. I don’t know if it’s not changed. It’s all hair.

GGaryWe stayed at The Regent for two nights and are very happy with the experience. At check-on, June and Nicole were patient with our inefficient Putonghua while introducing hotel services and facilities in details such as pool's open hour, whether swimming cap is included and the complimentary mini bar and laundry etc. The hotel is beautifully designed with dark wood rendering a sense of serenity and elegance. Our rooms enjoy captivating views of the river and Hongya Dong. The interior of the room aligns the design of the hotel with aesthetic details such as red tissue box, red stationery box, collateral with soft floral illustration. The bed is very comfortable, the firmness of the mattress is just rigjt.The hotel offers a range of amenities for our convenience which is thoughtful. The complimentary mini bar included soft drinks, white wine, beer and snacks, a very nice offerings..Each room received complimentary laundry of 3 pieces of basic garment which suit our needs. We enjoyed the complimentary special bath as well, rose bath and lemon bath, it is a fantastic gesture. We had breakfast at the Lounge, the buffet quality and selection were wonderful. The Chongqing XiaoMian was the star. The local breakfast specialities and the western choices were all tasty including the fried mackeral, steamed dim sum and the fresh salad. The hotel pool is nice, it is 25m and is indoor. The Regent is located in the financial district, adjacent to a shopping mall. There is a good variety of restaurants and local stores. The Concierge team is friendly and helpful I was not able to catch the team member's name but he has assisted us with our luggages and saw us off with a sincere smile. We had a very memorable stay!

GGuest UserThis stay at your hotel really made me very satisfied! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I felt the meticulous and thoughtful service. The front desk staff smiled kindly, quickly and efficiently checked in, and also intimately upgraded the room type as a surprise. The room is more spacious and comfortable than expected. The bedding is soft like sleeping in the clouds. The room cleaning is very serious every day. Even the skin care products I put at will help organize the location. The breakfast is rich in variety and the freshly cooked local specialties are impressive. The location is also very good, 5 minutes walk to the subway station, there are many convenience stores and restaurants around. The most moving thing is that the charger was left when checking out, and the housekeeping department took the initiative to contact and help mail it back. This customer-first service spirit is definitely worth five-star recommendation! I have already recommended it to friends who plan to travel~

KKin ChiThe biggest problem was the facility was nothing like the photos were shown. The photo descriptions the hotel put here was only the touristy spots nearby the hotel. Not at all how the hotel looked like. They're located in a commercial building which is at least 20 years of age after construction. The lobby on the ground floor and outside of the building looks old. There're seven or so stairs to reach the lobby (though mostly hotels were designed like this in Chongqing) The lift were worn out. In peak hours you gotta wait at least 15-20mins to get the elevator since the hotel rooms locate on 21st and 22nd floor and there are so many commercial offices and other small hotels in the building. I would recommend some chain hotels nearby which they owe the whole building for hotel services, the price were not so much different.
What I felt scammed the most was the room I booked with so many nice descriptions were the ”no window” rooms, which I haven't noticed as they were written in a very small text description. My mom was already upset seeing the worn out building, the lobby and the lift. I asked for an upgrade because of the unclear description. But they require me to pay $600RMB to upgrade to a river view room. I had no choice so I added $500RMB so I got a good windowed room.
I didn't want to leave negative comments at first... but the staff guilt-tripped me saying if I leave any comments that's not fully five stars, their salary will get deducted by their boss. At first I felt bad for them, but later I thought about it, this is the strategy companies in China use to get their five stars comments saying if customers don't do this, their salary will be deducted. I don't want to encourage this way of doing business so I decided I should come and at least leave some truthful comments.
Other than the feeling of feeling scammed to live in a hotel that looked completely different from the pictures they show, the location is really amazing, 2 mins walk to the nearest train station, 15 mins walk to Raffles City Chongqing and to the city center with big malls. The housekeeping staff and reception were great nice people as well.

GGuest UserThe view of the river outside is also very beautiful, the space of the hall is very spacious, there is free tea to drink, the stay is pleasant and very satisfactory. The location is very convenient, the room is clean and tidy, the staff at the counter is friendly and enthusiastic, the service attitude is very good, the receptionist Ting Ting sent me a lot of good food nearby, as well as a collection of Chongqing cuisine, which helped us avoid some attractions. The best part is that they provide laundry and drying services. I will come again and recommend it to my friends. Qixing Building, Bai Xiang Residence, Yangtze River Cableway, Eling Second Factory, and Li Zi Ba, these places are all very close to the hotel. The night view is really beautiful, you can see the night view of Chongqing while lying in bed.

DDerickOverall, as stated by many other reviews, this hotel is the value-for-money champion. Personally, I would rate if a hotel were a real five star hotel or simply a 'self-proclaimed' five star hotel based on the service rendered. Le Meridien Chongqing excelled in this aspect. Every staff member I had interacted with was friendly and warm.
Check-in: Was swift and unlike many chinese hotels which are distrusting of their customers, they did not ask for a deposit. Saves the hassle.
Room: It was spacious, I had previously read some other reviews which complained about the red cupboard at the entrance was terrifying, but personally I liked the chinese style decor. The aircon was slightly noisy and not the most effective, but I liked sleeping in a slightly cooler room. The bed was comfortable, although one side seemed to be more 'slept in' than the other, possibly a sign of the hotel's age. I did also notice some stains and wear and tear in the room but it was nothing serious so I will let that slide. The greatest sign of wear and tear is the shower head, which although was Hansgrohe branded, felt like it was about to break when I tried to change the shower mode. Toiletries were from the Malin+Goetz brand, which I really liked! But of course, ThisWorks branded ones used by Marriott hotels are slightly better.
Facilities: There was an indoor pool and a well-equipped gym- with a smith machine, something that is not available in some 5 star hotels. Impressive!
Breakfast: This was the greatest let down in the stay experience. As I was going up the lift, I noticed a sign stating that breakfast was on promotion at 68RMB per person. That could not mean anything good. The breakfast experience was cut to the bone. There were almost no hot cooked food options, except from basics such as eggs, toast, cooked chongqing noodles(plain) and dumplings. There is simply no way that this acceptable as a 5 star hotel breakfast, something that seems to be mentioned by other reviewers.
Other hotel restaurants- Not too sure why I bothered to try out the other hotel restaurants after the disappointing breakfast but, the chinese restaurant served food that was tasty, but the so-called ala-carte buffet was not great. The food options seemed like leftovers from another hotel buffet or something, and I counted a total of 5 pieces of beef when I ordered the dish 'black pepper beef'. Service was good and seemed well-intentioned though, although they seemed puzzled that I was not ordering more-- The food was not good!
Location: Located in Nan'an, I had chosen this hotel as it offered better value for money than its 5 star competitors in JieFangBei or the Conrad. It was also located in front of a Rail Transit station although I only used it once since the trains were crowded and it was quicker to grab a DiDi around. I think the biggest plus regarding its location is the adjacent Wanda Plaza, which had everything from a Sephora, Uniqlo and many other shops. I regretted not visiting it first before hopping on the train.
To summarise, I would recommend a first time visitor to Chongqing to stay in this hotel, but would I visit it again? Perhaps not, as I would like to try out other options in Chongqing that are newer, and can provide better breakfasts.

Most importantly, the location is excellent and transportation is convenient — it’s right near Raffles, making shopping and dining very easy. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

GGuest UserThis is a serviced apartment and I booked 2 x two bedroom River view apartments for my family of 6. We are from the UK and Hong Kong. The apartment was very spacious 128 sq metres with big living room, dining room, kitchen, separate laundry room, master bedroom + en-suite and walk-in closet and 2nd bedroom with bathroom. The view of the river was amazing. The property is right by the riverside in a relatively quiet area and next door is a police station. Chongqing is a very heavily populated city and it was somewhat of a relief to come back to a more peaceful area. It’s very safe and behind the property about 10 mins walk up the stair route is a shopping district. Note: this is a serviced apartment and there are families who live here on a longer term basis. I didn’t notice any big tour group style guests either. It’s not a huge famous branded hotel, so you need to carry the name card and address of the property to tell the taxi drivers.
The breakfast is a simple buffet style. More continental style with a few more hot add-ons like dumplings and eggs. You can also order takeout and the it will be delivered to your room via a robot!
The front desk staff are very helpful although they don’t really speak much English. However, they do try to use a translation app and we were able to converse. They would give us recommendations on tourist hotspots and detailed explanations on how to get there by public transportation. The staff may not be so international, but they are friendly, helpful and kind hearted if you give them some patience. I must commend Nancy from front desk for helping me to courier a jacket which I left in the wardrobe after check-out. It was delivered back to my home in Hong Kong the next day. Much appreciation for her texting me in English and having such a helpful manner.
I was able to use the washing machine/dryer for my laundry and found it thoughtful that they provided a sachet of washing powder. The appliances : fridge, microwave, washing machine, electric hobs are all good quality Siemens, Electrolux. Whilst the property is slightly dated, the decor of the rooms themselves are comfortable and clean and had the sense of quiet luxury. I would recommend that they put in a better quality of shower curtain to keep up with the rest of the decor. Rooms are cleaned daily and towels refreshed daily too. They don’t have cotton buds or cotton wool, toothbrush etc. in the bathroom trays like the do in normal hotels but the front desk do give you a set of toothbrush upon check-in. I believe this is something to do with an eco-friendly policy.
My family members used the pool facilities in the mornings and found it to be big enough for a good swim. The only thing they were not used to was lack of a life-guard manning the pool and also the sauna and steam room were a bit dated.
Overall, a very positive experience and good value for the price. It is like a home away from home and excellent for families who want to be together, yet also retreat to their own rooms.
