It was the first time that I stayed in this hotel even I have tried a lot of lunch there, but the experience was quite good especially the water in the swimming pool was heated so you don’t need to worry to catch cold in the later summer and the sunset and sunshine were both breathtaking spot that impressed me a lot!!! Service was really good compared with the other Italian hotels! Very nice experience!

It would be perfect if there is a smart toilet. Driving is quite convenient. The taste of Michelin restaurant is really average. I don't recommend it. The watermelon for breakfast is amazing. I haven't eaten such fresh and delicious watermelon for a long time.

My husband and I went on our honeymoon to Villa Petriolo this September. It was so beautiful! The food was amazing, the staff were so accommodating and kind, and the grounds were so well-kept and clean. We had an amazing experience and recommend Villa Petriolo to everyone. Some highlights were the activities they offer - such as the wine tour. The sommelier who gave us the tour, Annalisa, was SO knowledgeable and kind! She made our experience even more fun. We would love to go back!

Our stay was amazing. The accommendations were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Our host, Daneile is very personable, he has an excellent vision for his resort. We stayed with our daughter and her 6-week old son, and had no issues. The food was very exceptional. We would recommend the VIlla Petriolo with the highest marks. David & Pamela

Our first day at Villa Petriolo the room was very hot. I asked an employee exactly how to turn on the air conditioning. Instead of instructions, I was told maintenance would come look at it, and it was arranged that someone would come at 7:30 that evening. Instead, they called the room a few hours later and said that the air conditioning would not work because we had opened a window (in a desperate attempt to cool the room down). Ok, fair enough, and we closed the window. The room temperature remained too hot. After a day of traveling to get to Italy we were exhausted, and sleeping was next to impossible. It was miserable. The following day was even hotter, and by the time we went to bed the temp was over 80 degrees in the room at 11:15pm. In desperation I went to the front desk to ask again for instructions for how to turn on the air conditioning and were only then told that the temperature is controlled by the hotel, NOT the guest, and that it was set in “winter mode” meaning the heat was on! The only way to reduce the temperature was to ask for it to be done. It was only at this point that the air conditioning was turned on. However, after an hour the temperature had only dropped by two degrees. By the time the temperature would reach anywhere near acceptable it would be time to check out of the hotel. In summary, while the hotel is very nice, our first complaint was ignored and the result was a broiling and miserable stay. Avoid this place unless you enjoy living in a sauna and paying a lot of money to be insanely hot with no way to manage the room temperature on your own.

We stayed at Villa Petriolo for 6 nights, as a base for day trips to towns in central Tuscany. You will need a car. It is an easy drive from Florence Airport, and 10 minutes from the nearest town of Cerreto Guidi. The rooms are very comfortable, in a rustic style appropriate to the villa. We stayed in a pool premium suite with a small courtyard with our own sun lounges, table and chairs, and direct access to the pool. The pool is glorious, and at about 22m perfect for morning lap swimming. It is a working sustainable farm and vineyard, so the excellent wines and produce come directly from the farm. The staff were helpful and friendly, without being intrusive. The breakfast was adequate, the pool bar was good, and the two restaurants (the Michelin-starred PS, and more casual Golpaja) were excellent. There is a wellness retreat on the property, and many activities including wine tasting, cooking classes, bike and horse riding. We loved it, and will be back.

I came at Villa Petriolo for holidays and I was very disappointed by the service which was not up to standard. The team is very inflexible, staff is not trained and not attentive to the client (moreover some staff does not understand English). The general hospitality is very disappointing. They are mainly focused on business and are not interested in the customer’s wellbeing. The hotel is okay, it’s a farm so the decoration is old- fashioned and some areas are smelly. The restaurant is okay too but there is not a great variety of dishes and it is impossible to ask for small changes such as another choice of type of pasta. Generally, it's very disappointing and overpriced. I don’t recommend this hotel. It better to consider another establishment for a more peaceful stay. Important notice: Do not organize your wedding there, you will be very disappointed! We had a serious incident with a pregnant woman (the bride's sister) who was unable to come because she was urgently hospitalized. There was no compassion from the hotel manager who took no action at all, despite all the supporting documents sent. No refund or voucher or even a little a little gesture was offered, they were rude and had zero compassion.

We travel all over the world and I can honestly say that I have never had a more incredible time at any hotel. It wasn’t just a hotel, it was a 6 star experience! Daniele Nannetti making us feel like family to all of the staff, we were treated like royalty! The property was exquisite, it was a fully sustainable property with its own animals, vineyard, vegetable gardens, etc., to the magnificent vistas… inside and out! Our room was fit for royalty and we felt pampered the entire time we were there!!!!

We recently attended a wedding at Villa Petriolo, and fortunately we were able to book a room there. Everything was incredible, from the friendly staff to the rejuvenating spa. I wish we had booked a couple of extra days! I would absolutely recommend Villa Petriolo to anyone looking to visit Tuscany.

The unpleasant experience started at the very beginning when we entered the room on day one and found the welcome card in the room was addressed to a stranger… (this should not happen in a luxury hotel…) The following day, the housekeeper ignored my ‘do not disturb’ notice on the door and entered the room to clean directly. More surprisingly, the housekeeper took away my personal towel as those from the hotel…. The waiter at the restaurant didn't bring the spoon when soups were served. She didn't even notice until we spoke to her. When checking out, the staff at the reception said nothing to us at all (even no goodbye to us…) and didn’t ask our feedback about the stay.

My wife and I just completed a 4 night stay here and it was absolutely wonderful. There are so many things that make this a unique and exquisite experience and I will try to highlight just a few of them. First of all, the commitment to sustainability is unlike anything I've seen elsewhere. Almost everything is made in property using their own resources and creates practically zero waste. On top of that, it's all so good, from the food to the bath and body products placed in the room. The staff is so warm and welcoming. We did both the truffle hunt and the pizza and pasta making class. Chef Marco is wonderful and getting to enjoy our creations was a highlight of the stay. And the grounds, the location in Tuscany is spectacular. Every direction from the property is an incredible scenic view. The infinity pool overlooking the vineyards is a great place to unwind. We also enjoyed getting to meet the cat that lives on property, Romeo. We stayed in the Master Suite Soppalco. We loved the spacious two level floor-plan, it was very unique for a hotel room. The only drawbacks were a limited view out a small Juliet balcony and some minor noise as the room is just above the restaurant, but we'd absolutely stay in it again! If I may offer some advice, a rental car made our life much easier as the location is certainly off the beaten path. You can enter the property from two directions. The entry to the west is much more well paved and easier while the one to the east is entirely a dirt road. We look forward to returning!
