There is MRT construction, and the roads have been narrowed so it's terribly jammed all the time. 15 mins to get 200m or so.
The rooms are quite old . My mugs were not at all clean. The safe did not work. Each time they took 15 minutes to come.
The sink leaked. It was not fixed till the next day. No notification that it was fixed either.
On check out I needed the hotel's help to open the safe. They took 20 minutes to come to the room despite repeated calls that I need to get to the airport.
I would not recommend this hotel at all.
Go somewhere newer.
Grand Mercure it is not. Shocking really. I am an Accor Plus member and really appalled by the service or lack of.
Rooms look great on the photos though

Nice and clean facilities. room was comfortable. gym was spacious and there is a hot pool and cold pool. there was a ping pong table near the sauna and steam room too

Location in Chinatown and room is spacious. Everything else is a let down. We booked for a double room, but got one set of towel. Ironing board is full of holes. Most disappointing is their buffet lunch Harmony Coffee Shop. Food quality, variety and hygiene was totally lacking. At 1pm, 80% of the dishes were finished, and there is still a long queue. Our business lunch meeting was ruined. Totally not a 5-star hotel as described.
