2-Star Hotels in Cascade Locks

Very nice hotel and room, with expansive view of the Columbia River Gorge. We got a balcony room, and it was worth the small extra charge. Railroad tracks run about 50 years from the building, below the balcony. Freight trains operate often, and sometimes made quite a rumble through the room. Did not bother me, my wife was more mixed. Other unusual aspect: Breakfast is served at a restaurant next door. Unlike the typical Best Western buffet breakfast, you order one ”item” off a menu that has eight items. For instance, I got yogurt and granola with a small extra charge for excellent toast, my wife had oatmeal. The food was high quality. Location was perfect, near Multnomah and the Fish Hatchery, 20 miles west of Hood River, 40 miles east of Portland.
