Cairns Hotels with Gym

Just okay :/ The staff was great and very friendly. However, the hotel quality did not match up with the standard we have seen at other Shangri - La Hotels. The paint on our door was badly peeling and the padded benches in our room were stained. Two of the outlets in our room did not have power. We ordered room service the first night and the rice that was sent was hard a a rock and stuck together. The location was great and the potential is there but this hotel is in need of some upkeep and a standards check. For any other hotel this would not be as big of a concern, but for the price and expectation of a Shangri- La Hotel, we were expecting a bit more.

Omg staying at this hostel was equally parts traumatic and entertaining. The best way to describe it is imagine if a problematic 60 year old man opened a hostel with a nightclub underneath, and all the social activities were designed with other problematic 60 year old men in mind. They don't seem to do any sort of gender balancing in the mixed dorm, one girl checked into my room in the middle of the night, because she was put in a mixed dorms with only men over 50. The social activities are old fashioned but not in a good way, I'm talking wet t shirt contests, pole dancing competitions, jelly wrestling. But honestly this hostel gave most of the girls staying here the ick so we ended up having movie nights on the girls floor, going to the market and Esplanade together and to the free gym. I actually had a good time, ironically. The facilities at this hostel are really good to be fair, the dorms were clean, they all had air conditioning and balconies (unfortunately you are not able to control the temperature of the air conditioning or turn it off when it is cold outside), they had large well equipped kitchens, a pool and a free gym. Even the nightclub was a good venue, but the social activities are like something out of the Wolf Of Wall Street. If they are going to be a sleazy venue they could at least hire Magic Mike dancers. But honestly they just need to get a new entertainment manager and this place would be fine. Location is alright, about a twenty minute walk to the Esplanade.

The room was clean and quiet. It also had a nice view where you could see the sea and the rainforest.Service was good , and it was easy to call a taxi ,you just need to press a taxi bottom in the lobby and taxi would come to the hotel within 5 to 15 minutes .This was really cool!

Staff were very friendly, location was the best to walk around the city. Actual room facilities are relatively a bit outdated (no usb receptive chargers) but nothing to complain about. Thanks again to the extremely friendly Korean staff member at the front desk.

This is definitely a place that is orientated more towards families rather than couples. What was good was the friendly staff throughout the resort, the food and beverage service and the convenient underground parking. Stayed in a deluxe king room on the fifth floor overlooking Cairns city which appears to have been recently upgraded. Room smelt damp on entry and after the first shower it was evident why. It is hard to believe that someone designed the shower so that water flowed directly onto the floor and out into the living area even when you had the least amount of water flow possible. Wee bit of a design flaw I would suggest. Also, when booking a King size bed it would be a good idea to ask guests if they want a second bed in the room along with connecting rooms. I personally have no wish to have connecting rooms unless I am staying as a family. This door along with the front door were not particularly well sealed and you could here plenty of noise from outside and next door. The balcony is marketed as being intimate in yet has one chair and being a connecting room has nothing between you and your neighbours balcony. Hardly intimate. Based on the reviews I am sure this place is perfect for families however, there are better choices for couples elsewhere in Cairns.

A nice place to stay with decent rooms and some nice swimming pools and outside spaces. 15 mins easy stroll to the sea/esplanade and 5 mins from central station. I should mention that ‘garden view’ is an exterior view, the ‘swimming pool view’ is the interior and much nicer.

Crystalbrook Bailey was my stopover hotel so I wasn't expecting anything flash etc however when I arrived I was pleasantly surprised how beautiful and modern this hotel is. Such a change to a lot of the older Cairns hotels. I felt like I was in a hotel in Melbourne! Check in was a breeze and staff were lovely, I was in my room in no time at all. There is alot of stunning modern artworks all throughout the building, very cool to find as you make your way to your floor. The room was beautiful and sufficient for a one nights stay, I could have easily stayed for longer! The location is great, in the city and close to the esplanade. I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is a bit old, close to the cruise ship terminal, the room balcony faces the port, the waiter's attitude is very good, but you can't check in before the time, the other hotels are OK. Opposite the hotel is a ******, the central air conditioning cooling tower on the roof is very noisy, and the balcony door must be closed.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. The first was a much better experience. It seems it all depends on the room. This time we got room 101, on the corner of the building and next to the entrance gate and more importantly, next to a street intersection. It was quite noisy all night as trucks and busses accelerate from the intersection. I asked the desk clerk when we checked in if we could have a different room and he refused, even though other rooms were available. I couldn't quite figure out his reasoning. Anyway, this room also sufferers from a very weak air conditioner and is a little smaller than the last room we got (room 119). Basically, the hotel is fine, but your experience may differ based on the specific room.

The hotel has a great environment and complete facilities. In addition to the swimming pool, there is also a spa and several restaurants and bars. The location is also good, right by the sea, a little far from the pier, but close to the night market and the city center. We booked a pool view room. After the hotel learned that we were on a honeymoon trip, they gave us a room on the top floor with both pool and sea views, and also gave us a honeymoon gift. The service attitude is really good. Although the breakfast is similar every day, it is delicious and worth the money.
