We went to the Taste and Tour, which gave us a two course meal with a drink, and a historical tour by the landlord Nigel, for a reasonable £36 a head. The pub was tastefully decked for Christmas with myriad fairy lights and candles, and crackers on the tables. The food was really excellent, and we learned a lot about the history of the pub from 1400 to the present day, and some of the artifacts inside. Well done to the waiting staff too..

Lack of customer awareness Staff only interested in each other Serving a meal on a piece of wood when you have a sensory / cognitive disability not great & feeling like you’re a burden when asking for a plate. A glass of wine over £7.00, really! On the positive, food was fine & if you are after a quirky olde English pub then this is for you.

Revisit to my childhood/teenage village. A visit to the Fleece was lovely. A quaint little pub. Friendly staff. Delicious hot chips. The toilets were very clean and provided hand cream too. A beautiful venue within a Cotswold village. Don’t think I appreciated growing up here!!

An excellent meal, and we enjoyed the pub atmosphere, followed by a drink outside in the sunshine in the lovely gardens. We ate in the evening, and although there was a private celebration in the barn, this in no way detracted from the service. Perfect thanks.

Really great little innto visit for the overall quirky layout and picturesque historical design. We really enjoyed the meals and well worth popping in for a drink / meal. Have to book in high season and maybe all the time. There was a wedding on site so it was super busy at the bar, so service was challenging for the team, but decent.

Visited with friends for dinner, the service was great, good food and a lovely atmosphere. It’s great to sit and eat in a pub that has so much history. The orchard is pretty, loved all the hollyhocks❣️lots of seating outdoors, the barn was in use for a wedding party so it was quite bubbly outdoors.

We parked our new to us VW camper in their paddock, beautiful orchard surroundings, we had the place to ourselves. We had dinner at the pub, food was home cooked. Landlady really helpful, no shower block, but ehu and toilet open all night if required. Some noise from the pub till quite late but honestly to be expected as it was a lovely evening (didn't bother us, it is a pub?!😊. Also! Big bonus absolutely lovely breakfast available in the morning. Would most definitely stay again. However anything bigger than a VW camper wouldn't fit.

Lovely old pub owned by National Trust so authentic furnishings all be it rather uncomfortable ! Nice features …. Extensive gardens outdoor seating 2 gypsy caravans , bar in the barn, Orchard. But food was disappointing. Expensive. Pies and fish £19! And the so-called chunky chips were thin and soggy.

Came across this place when struggling to find somewhere serving food past 4pm on a Sunday and so glad we found it. Service incredible, food amazing, huge portions and so much flavour. Really can't fault anything at all. We are not local but will definitely be returning

Our first visit to the Fleece & we decided it would be nice to do so during asparagus season. The lamb casserole that two of us had was disappointing & although the menu said it contained asparagus it was chopped so small that it could have been missed. The award winning pies ordered by the other two guests were fairly average & the side portion of asparagus was small & expensive. The sticky toffee pudding afterwards was very good but the Baileys bread & butter pudding, not so. A disappointing meal for the price we paid. The staff were friendly & service good though. It was my husbands birthday treat, so such a shame.

We ate lunch at the Fleece and the beef pies were amazing! We were running late for our booking due to road closures, when I called to explain they were very understanding and held our table. The pub is lovely with a cosy open fire and the manageress was really welcoming when we arrived, explaining lots of local beer options and food specials. Most friendly welcome I’ve had and the waitresses were also lovely. Definitely recommend.

Well I took it for granted that it would be a wonderful old building with great selection of well-kept beer beer, but we had also had some of the best pub food we've ever tasted. Service was very friendly and efficient, and with lovely open fires, it was just a fabulous place to spend an evening.

We called into The Fleece for some food whilst visiting friends and had a really great experience. Alex saw to it that we were very well looked after and her friendly and hospitable nature made the evening one to remember. She's a credit to the place! The food and atmosphere was awesome.

The Fleece Inn surpassed all expectations, not that we had much of an idea as to what to expect. A lovely, warm and engaging atmosphere - food was wonderful, staff were very friendly and attentive....extremely happy to recommend this quaint and very special pub. It appears they have a lot of activities, (live music, dancing etc) which obviously brings the community together - would love to return and experience some of these traditional events.

Out for lunch. Excellent old fashioned pub with lovelly staff. Nice beer and great menu. Both of us went for the drive age beef longhorn pie with veg and chips and gravy. The best pie that my wife and I have ever had. Pastry that melts with the gravy. Beef so tender and also extra gravy provided. Superb taste..love to know what the herbs were? Great menu but too full for a pudding but did share pigs in blankets in honey and mustard sauce as a pre meal nibble.the pie was totally enclosed in pastry-Superb. Fantastic, old and quirky pub and great, friendly staff!
