The hostess of the hotel is extremely responsive and kindly aunt, will always support the conversation, as well as in any unclear situation comes to help and is ready to guide the local sights. The hotel itself is new and still in the process of building new rooms, but on New Year holidays when it stopped, the workers were not, so I cannot estimate the scale of the noise from the construction and whether it prevents rest. The hotel is quietly far from the traffic vacation, which is plus and with a beautiful view to the mountains. Also, they have a restaurant at the hotel where you can eat, it is convenient if you pull somewhere. Baycakes are rented only to those who have rights but have bicycles. The numbers are quite spacious.

I had a pleasant stay at this accommodation. The place is clean, and the bathrooms are spacious and comfortable. All necessary amenities are fully provided. The house has a total of four rooms and four bathrooms, which is very convenient.
The upstairs room is accessed via a staircase, but the steps are quite narrow. You need to be extra careful when going down—one of my friends actually slipped and fell, so caution is highly recommended.
The breakfast was delicious and offered a good variety of choices. It’s also conveniently located, with restaurants and shops just a short walk away. The surrounding atmosphere is lovely, clean, and visually appealing. From the accommodation, you can start your hike up Mua Cave as early as 6 AM.
Overall, it’s a comfortable place to stay with great surroundings and good value for money.

It's 3 mins down dirt roads in Trang An (where the longest and biggest major boat ride attraction is located), from the main paved road and such a beautiful setting in the mountains and ponds because of it. Quiet and peaceful not busy and backpacker like Tam Coc or city like Ninh Bin. They have a 2 story building with big new modern rooms I stayed in with a long large shared balcony with seating built in 2025. I never saw the older single rooms across the property but there were guests in them. The hostess is very helpful and accommodating along with her 2 daughters. They cook breakfast included, do laundry, rent motorbikes, help booking Xanh or Grab, sell water and snacks. New modern indoor seating for meals. Bicycles are free to borrow and riding around the dirt roads enjoying the scenery is a treat. A very easy place to stay. I personally rented a motorbike and was out from morning until 9pm every day sight seeing. Wake up and look at the beautiful mountains every morning in this homestay. Everything is affordably priced and normal for the region. Cheaper than other cities in Vietnam. They do NOT do CREDIT CARD booking payment. Pay for your room, motorbike, laundry, food when you check out with CASH so make sure you have enough on your last day.

JuliaVLGOur family stayed here for 2 nights and we absolutely loved it. It was cozy, the bungalows were great, and the pool was clean – the kids had a blast swimming. The breakfasts were delicious, the staff was friendly, and it's just a peaceful place to relax.

Hotel Location: 👍On the roadside, not far from nearby attractions. Free bicycles are available for rental.
Room: Comfortable and clean. Bathroom: Plenty of hot water 👍. There's a small swimming pool in front of the room.
The hotel's restaurant is located by the river, with a small bridge connecting to the water. Across the river, there's a small, lush hill with beautiful scenery.
Breakfast: Traditional Vietnamese drip coffee, sandwich bread, and Vietnamese pho 👍
Service was excellent 👍. The owner happily cooked two delicious dishes for dinner using the fish head we bought (for an additional fee). Their small pot rice was crispy and delicious. The Hanoi beer was excellent; we drank six bottles.
Overall, a 2-day stay: 10 points of satisfaction.

A very friendly family runs this small homestay. We felt very comfortable. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. A delicious breakfast was also provided, and if the weather is warm enough, you can use the pool. Otherwise, it's also pleasant to relax on the sun lounger in front of the pool. Many thanks to the whole family who run this homestay and ensured we had a wonderful stay.

We stayed one night at this lovely homestay in Hoa Lu, near Ninh Binh, and it was perfect. The owners are so kind and caring — they don’t speak much English, but they make you feel welcome with their hearts. It was the best experience we’ve had in Vietnam.
The room was very clean and comfortable, with a nice bathroom and a view of the garden and pool. The food was amazing — we had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even coffee in the afternoon, and everything was delicious.
We also rented a motorbike from the homestay, which was very easy. I really recommend this place if you want peace, good food, and lovely people.

This is a heartwarming story of a lost and found.
This trip itinerary covered three places:
Hanoi --> Ninh Binh (2.5-hour drive)
Ninh Binh --> Ha Long (3-hour drive)
Ha Long --> Hanoi Airport (2-hour drive)
For two nights in Ninh Binh, I stayed at a place called ”Mai Luxury Hotel.”
Judging by the name, it sounds grand,
but in reality, it was more like
a family-run, small-scale single-building guesthouse.
However, the room was of 4-star hotel quality,
so it was acceptable.
After checking out,
I had been on the way to Ha Long for about two hours when
I realized I had left my Insta 360 camera in the hotel lobby.
Knowing there was no way to go back and get it,
I had to wait until I arrived in Ha Long before calling Mai Luxury Hotel.
After confirming with them that I had indeed left it at the hotel,
we started looking for a solution.
Initially, they followed me on IG
(their hotel IG only had 4 followers).
We chatted via DM, and then they added me on WhatsApp to discuss.
Originally, they wanted to find a driver that very evening
to bring it to my hotel in Ha Long Bay.
But because it was a holiday, they couldn't find a driver.
Later, they found out I would be leaving Vietnam the next day,
so they started looking for any drivers heading to the airport the following day.
Not long after,
they actually found a driver.
They even sent me the driver's and vehicle's details.
They also said they had already wrapped it up securely.
At this point,
I was inclined to believe they genuinely intended to return it.
However, if the driver turned out to be dishonest, it could still go missing.
On the final day,
I arrived at the airport around 1 PM and received a message from the driver.
After that, I didn't hear from him again.
I grew increasingly anxious inside,
thinking maybe he was still driving?
Or perhaps he had already kept the camera for himself.
Around 4 PM, I finally received a call from the driver.
He even captured a photo of my anxious expression while waiting for him.
As previously arranged with the hotel,
I was to pay him 500,000 VND (about 150 HKD).
At that moment, the driver actually handed me back 200,000 VND.
Before I could react, he had already gotten back in his car and left.
When I looked at the returned item, I could hardly believe it!
The hotel had used a ”Happy New Year” bag
to hold a ”Happy New Year” box.
Upon opening the box, the camera was wrapped in cloth.
The level of care and thoughtfulness was truly perfect.
The feeling of joy from recovering something lost is truly
indescribable.
Of course, I wouldn't dare say that everyone in Vietnam is good,
but at least on this trip,
whether it was the hotpot restaurant owner, the tour guide on the boat, or the hotel staff,
they all made me feel
the warmth and kindness of the local people.

Joker ArciWhere Hospitality Still Means Something.
From the moment we arrived, this hotel got it right. A warm welcome, fast check-in, and staff who actually help with your bags — a rare combo these days. To top it off, we got a free upgrade! Our room came with a bathtub, a nice exterior view, and a little extra space — always a win in my book.
After long days of tours and wandering around, the peaceful nights were a blessing. And that rooftop pool? A quiet little oasis — perfect for cooling off, pretending you’re in a luxury resort, and questioning every life decision that led you to deserve such comfort. Overall, the stay was a delight.
The only small downside would be its location, which is a bit away from the city center — but nothing a quick Grab ride can’t fix. They also rent motorbikes (we just wish they’d mentioned it earlier 😂).
We left with smiles and even a small farewell gift — classy touch. I’d absolutely come back, ideally on purpose next time.

New homestay that opened in early 2025. Father and son and his family run and maintained this cute little homestay. They're so nice and hospitable and will provide help and service at all times of the day. They provide meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, pedal bike and motorbike rentals and laundry service by the kilo.
It has an amazing backdrop scenery of Trang An behind the homestay, you wouldn't want to wish for more whenever you wake up every morning here. 😀
