Guest UserWe had a wonderful stay at Pride Inn Flamingo resort. I called the day of my stay for a pickup by their driver and was met a few hours later as I left the baggage pickup at Mombasa airport, by a smiling face holding a sign with my name. The drive to the resort was long. It was equally long on the return. But we were met by a cool drink and wet towel to refresh. The room wasn't ready yet so we had lunch first as they took care of our bags. Lunch, as was all of their meals was plentiful and had a large variety so even my picky eater husband could find plenty to satisfy. We aren't drinkers but drinks both alcohol and non were included in the all-inclusiveness.
The room was great spacious and spotless. The shower was cool and because of the heat I didn't even notice. When I had trouble with the safe a call to the desk brought security to o fix it immediately.
I must mention that both I and my husband had a massage and it was a don't miss item. I am a former massage therapist and believe me when I say this is worth every penny indulge yourself it's wonderful and I had manicure (my first) which still looks great a week later!
This was the perfect way to end my Kenyan safari vacation.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Excellent location and very friendly staff. The food was also so delicious. I checked in on my birthday and I happened to mention while checking it at the from desk. The hotel was kind enough to surprise me with cake at dinner. That absolutely made my day. Forever grateful for that .
The only issue was that there was a lot of furniture in the room making it cramped up yet it was a spacious room . The hotel can also improve on cleanliness in unseen places such as under the beds and tables. Other than that, I highly recommend the hotel their rates are pretty reasonable and there’s value for money.

Good hotel and more affordable than many on this coastline. Stayed here while attending a conference at PrideInn Paradise and no complaints!
Only issue was that the trip booking was not showing on arrival but the hotel were amazing and sorted it out.
Huge rooms with kitchen, fridge, kettle which was great for making tea!

Guest UserNice hotel, full of amenities. location is great and on the coast but Mombassa traffic means you may be stuck in a lot if you plan to visit the main city itself

The rooms were spacious, but showed signs of age. The buffet was much better than other hotels we stayed at, but not nearly as lavish as in previous years; it was generally suitable for Chinese palates. The hotel is well-suited for families with children, with multiple swimming pools suitable for kids of all ages, but the beach is unsuitable for swimming as it's mostly coral reefs. The staff were very friendly, and I would choose this hotel again if needed in the future.

My experiences include both good and bad ones:
GOOD: I checked in on 12th evening and booked for 1 night original on trip.com. Then I really had a good time there. Relaxed in my primitive stylish big room with sea view, sang karaoke with some of the staffs and clients there. The staff Victor is a talented rap singer👍🏻. One of the staffs named Junior (which is a very good staff) warmly helped me with online shopping. So I extended 2 days because of the very good mood at the very beginning. The extended 2 days were not paid by trip.com, but were supposed to be paid directly with POS machine when I leave.
BAD:
Bad things happened in the early morning of 15th June, when I need to rush to the airport. One of the staff(a different staff, not Junior, not Victor) speaks no English, go to take the POS machine very slow (let my Uber wait and I almost not able to catch my flight) and overcharged me twice the amount I should pay, because of wrong operation of POS machine. I found out this fact hours later when check my account I was not in Mombasa even Kenya.
Another thing to mention, I informed almost every staff I know in Ziwa that I have to leave at 5am on 15th, so the 550KSH for restaurant should be charged before I go, either in the evening of 14th before they close, or in the morning of 15th, together with the extended 2 days’s room fees. But in reality, no one informed me, and I thought it was included in the final payment I paid by POS machine in the 15th morning. And then on my way, Ziwa contact me to ask for the 550KSH. I am out of Kenya, and I need to ask Kenyan friend to transfer me through m-pesa and then I pay her dollars.
I kindly request Junior to help accelerate my refund process, and he promised to do so. I am currently waiting for the updates.
But still, I don’t think these unpleasant mistakes should happened, which cause a lot of trouble, worries, a waste of time and effort, and excessive money on service fees, transaction fees and exchange rate losses. I am very upset and angry, because I am busy and in urgent need of money. These mistakes also reflect the deficit of ziwa’s general management and staff capacity building.

The location is peaceful. An older facility, somewhat run-down, but clean and orderly. Would suggest a bit more attention to beautifying the grounds, plastering and painting at the gate. The staff was friendly and responsive. The room was comfortable. A/C working well. Shower brought warm water eventually. We had a room service each day with fresh towels and bottles of water. TV was fine but not an internet TV. wi-fi was a bit spotty and slow. Room opened up to a nice patio which overlooked the pool. The patio is shared with another room. In our case there was a fairly lively family next door.
The pool is well maintained and pool area is pleasant. It is a shallow pool throughout.

JuliaStantonFor a convenient one night’s stay in downtown Mombassa, this hotel offered good value for money. The swimming pool on the rooftop was refreshing and the breakfast was good. The hotel has obviously seen better days but it was good for price paid. Cafe next door is great.

It is located perfectly for travel to the airport, so the convenience is certainly a reason to stay here. The staff were all pleasant, but the rooms could use air-conditioning as it is a hot country. They have a restaurant downstairs inside the hotel, but choices are limited and the breakfast was very ordinary. The restaurant they have next door was a total waste of time and money. We ordered the grilled chicken and waited over 1hr for it to arrive, and when it did it was dry overcooked chicken that was like chewing on a rubber boot. We couldn't finish the meal because it was just inedible and not at all a good meal by any standards. Their cold drinks are not very cold and they do not have ice. Oh, but for them it is more important to have an ignorant DJ playing music so loud we had trouble hearing ourselves talking. We asked nicely if they could have the music volume lowered a little but our request was just ignored by the DJ. It is a restaurant not a night club and the music was just too loud for a restaurant. So I would give this place a 0 star rating because it was terrible.
