Located in historic heart of Metz, the 18th century Mercure Grand Hotel Metz Centre Cathedral, renovated in Art Déco style, is a stone's throw from St. Etienne Cathedral, the banks of the Moselle & the covered market. Situated in the heart of the pedestrian district, you'll enjoy the comfort of our tastefully & authentically renovated rooms as well as the winter garden topped w/ a magnificent glass roof.
"The room is in the city center, it is very convenient to go out, there are many restaurants around, we are lucky to meet a restaurant with a good taste, ten minutes walk from the train station, very close"

AAnonymous UserThe location is in front of the station, so it's very convenient for getting to and from the station. You can walk to most destinations in the city in about 20 minutes, and there are delicious cafes nearby. The city center is about a 15-minute walk away, but it's not that far, so it's convenient to stay in front of the station. The staff were all friendly, and I recommend it if you're coming to Metz.
However, the bathroom was a bit of a problem. There was no curtain in the shower room, and there were almost no steps, so the shower water would flow into the bathroom no matter what you did. I managed to get by with a bath mat, but it was difficult to use, so if there is a room that doesn't have that, I would choose that and stay there again next time.
GGuest UserWe expected the hotel to be right outside the train station but the closest tunnel to get there was closed do we had to walk quite a distance lugging our heavy luggage. But once there it was fine. And the front desk representative was very helpful getting taxis for us the next day.
GGuest UserI like this small hotel in Europe, located in the most core place, small door, small stairs, small room, but everywhere is history, is warm, is style, this is Europe ⋯• So travel in Europe usually book two hotels, One is the castle manor hotel far from the town, the other is a small hotel in the center of the town, but there is also pain, that is, there is an elevator in the wood, you need to climb the old narrow stairs with your own suitcase, but is this not something you need to feel during the trip...
LLS ChngLocated in a quiet area. Short walking distance is the theatre area with many restaurants to choose from. Just have to be careful that the car gps might bring you through a blocked road. Easier to set your gps to rue de la piscine.
GGuest UserWe booked for a double roome with 2 beds, it is a very small room (yes, I knew this in advance) but since we only stayed for 1 night only. that was fine.
If we have two big suitcases and we need to unfold both, we need to find our own arrangements. Anyhow, in general, the breakfast service was good! The reception desk was very kind and helpful.
The location of the hotel is not far from city center, located in a very quite place for living habitats I think. I give 4.5 / 5 points.
AAnonymous UserWe were traveling as a family there. The rooms have come somewhat in the years, but top clean. The location is absolutely central. The service is very friendly. I needed another ceiling that I had immediately. Breakfast is super. There is a large choice.
GGuest UserSmall downside for the gentleman at the reception who was very friendly, but who asked me for an identity document. So I gave him my driving license issued by the state and therefore serves as an identity document accepted in France from the moment the photo on the document resembles the person.
Fortunately my wife had hers, otherwise he would not have accepted us.
After research his explanations were completely false.
Otherwise the rest is good
LLaoyingzhajiVery suitable for self-driving, the room is really small but you can also put down two big boxes, the bed is still very comfortable, the health is also done well, there are two big supermarkets at the door.
RRudyThe hotel is a modern hotel with a strategic location to visit the city of Metz.
Good price quality.
The room is right with everything you need.
Good breakfast.
