Watermouth Lodges Reviews

My family absolutely loved staying here, one of my favourite holidays and we usually go abroad all inclusive in October. We stayed in Seaview, I would definitely go back. I’ve only given it four stars because I wouldn’t want some people turning up thinking it’s going to be pure luxury, no faults etc etc. If you are the type of person who goes around looking for issues, you’ll no doubt find them, but this was a fantastic location, a really special feel to it. The staff are all lovely and can’t do enough for you, it is in the most fantastic spot, the hot tub was great, I absolutely adored going around the kooky castle, the view, the nearby walks… it was magical, original and so so memorable. Half the price of some of the ‘luxury’ lodges we were looking at in Hoseasons and so much more spacious than a caravan.

There are lots of positives about the lodges, views, location, peace, comfort and well equipped. The lodges aren't completely modern, but comfortable and good value, especially the hot tub lodges. We also had Seaview, which had a fab view of the harbour. The negatives for us were the lack of advertised facilities. We have stayed twice before and not had the same issues as this time. The bar and restaurant were not open as advertised and the TV in our sitting room never had any signal to watch anything. We did report this twice and unsure if someone came to look at it. Either way, it wasn't fixed!! Having said that, we would stay again because of the location, we were just a bit disappointed in the service this time round.

PROS: All the staff we met were very friendly, polite and helpful. Lodge 33 was clean, warm, and comfortable. Fish and chips from the bar menu were delicious. The setting for the Lodges is lovely. CONS: WiFi isbonly and good in the reception and bar area and useless in the Lodges. Their is an awful lack of sockets in the lounge and bedroom. Charging phones and WiFi are expected in this day and age! Food is not available on Sunday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, and even the bar area and reception shut at 6 pm on Sunday, so no WiFi is available then at all! The shop is not a shop like many sites have. It's a few shelves in the reception, selling a few essentials. Wouldn't book again.

We enjoyed our stay at park life resorts, fantastic location if visiting watermouth castle , only a minutes walk from our lodge, and only a 5 minute drive to Ilfracombe. The lodge was a little dated but very clean. The smart tv was great. We would stay again in the future.

A very enjoyable relaxing break in a comfortable lodge watching the squirrel s! Great location for the coastal paths and Sawmills bar and restaurant.

Absolutely wonderful short break here all the staff were amazing so friendly and helpful the Lodge was 1st class everything there that I needed very clean and comfortable I will be booking again and will be recommending

Whilst the rooms were great and in an idyllic setting we felt short changed by our stay here. Granted it was coming to the end of season but when you pay for service you are advertised as part of the experience then don't receive it you can't help but feel disappointed. Upon arrival at 6pm we were told everything would be shutting early that night due to lack of staff and after a long drive we had to rush to get sorted and be able to get something to eat/drink (a sub par pizza was all they were serving up too). We were then subsequently rushed out pre 8pm as they had to shut down for the night. Whilst on the second night they did keep the bar open and from what we saw there was a full menu available, we didn't chance staying for too long as we were told by the bar staff "they are going home at 8, whatever the case" and "I'll only stay til I'm told to go, if everyone whos in is still drinking then I dont mind staying til the end", when asked what time they would be staying open until that evening. As for the third day it was a disaster. It was a rainy day and we chose to stay local with view to using the on site facilities. When we went to use the indoor soft play area for our little boy, it was in darkness at 3pm. We went back a while later to see if it were open for the evening around 5:30 and yet everything on site was still shut. We complained upon check out to the receptionist that we felt short changed, given we purposely booked a stay here for the facilities to keep our little one entertained. £106 a night for a room that offered on site food, drinks and leisure activities, yet we barely got drinks. We were told we would be out in touch with management upon our departure to discuss our stay yet it's over a week on and I am still to hear anything. Terrible service all round and an incredibly disgruntled and disappointed guest!

Lovely, spacious lodge with a fabulous view and great hot tub to relax in. It had everything we needed.

Lovely cozy cottage, we had a great time. Great location, and amazing view of the castle and the sea.

Lovely site. Well maintained with a variety of facilities, bar, restaurant, kids play areas and swimming pool. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, well appointed lodges with plenty of parking. Good surrounding area offering plenty to do for holiday makers of all ages.

We had a wonderful time here - there’s loads to do on site with the bar, restaurant. pool, indoor and outdoor play areas and fantastic marshmallow toasting experience. It’s a great location, not far at all from Ilfracombe and walkable to the lovely harbour with cafe and Watermouth Castle which is great for kids. The lodge was clean and well equipped with good WiFi and easy parking right outside. We had a hot tub which was fabulous - worked really well and had amazing views.

Very impressed with these beautiful lodges, the addition of a hot tub was definitely worth the extra pennies! The outdoor pool was heated as it states (not normally the case!) It was lovely and warm and great on the colder days (thankfully we only had one of these!) The food in the bar was excellent! Reasonably priced and exceeded our expectations! We all had a fabulous time, the park area and soft play kept the youngest happy and the table tennis was a lovely little extra that kept the eldest and us adults entertained! We loved the tennis courts too! When the sun shines the views are amazing! This place is definitely one to visit amd stay in when your planning a trip to North Devon!

Absolutely beautiful resort in the perfect location for exploring the local area, we stayed in lodge 2 which has stunning views of watermouth castle and the sea which you see from sat in the hot tub, lodge was very clean and spacious with everything in it you could possibly need, great facilities for the kids whilst the parents can sit on the bar terrace and enjoy the sea views, all staff very friendly, welcoming and attentive, will definitely stay again
